    Game 1 Viewing Party Information-
Fans who would like to celebrate the Trail Blazers “Rip City Uprise” are encouraged to attend a Game 1 viewing party at the Rose Garden Saturday evening. A more detailed announcement on that event will be sent Thursday.

The Trail Blazers wrapped up the regular season with a 48-34 mark, good enough for the sixth seed and a playoff date with the Dallas Mavericks. In the four-game season series, the two teams split with each winning twice on their home floor. Although the season series is knotted at two games a piece, since the acquisition of Gerald Wallace, the Trail Blazers are 2-0 against the Mavericks, winning a hotly contested battle, 104-101, on March 15th and running away with a 104-96 victory on April 3rd. This will be the fourth time these two franchises will have played one another in the postseason (1985, 1990, 2003) with the Trail Blazers holding a 2-1 edge. And everyone remembers the Mavs jumping out to a 3-0 series lead in 2003 before the Blazers fought back to force a Game 7. It all starts Saturday night in Big D! Let's get it on!

Excited to see what we can do in Game 1 - maybe a repeat of what we did vs. PHX last year, but of coruse, different end result - let's get the split in Game 1 itself!!! That would rock!

I am a fan of Lillard, Batum, Lopez, LA and T Rob taking it to other teams!

I think getting game 1 is inportant because it's the feeling out game and it's before the ajustments and i feel the pressure on Dallas to win this series so winning game 1 or 2  will put even more pressure on them.

Crowding Dirk defensively and Dre pushing the ball in transition are my two keys.  One question not yet posed...How many times, on camera, will Dirk adjust his bra strap?  I say 19 in game 1.  Look for him doing this during dead ball situations, particularly as he toes the charity stripe.  Dirk, you're a max player.  You should be able to negotiate for a top that fits you properly and to your liking.

Terry can mess up without any extra defense. he is sketchy just like dirk and that whole team. they are a 50-50.
Roy is looking fresh out there, im liking it.
but man do i strongly dislike doris roberts. ohhh and that voice.......ehhhhh
if the blazers can take these games in dallas i think they can for sure stick it to em at home and take the series.

I don't understand why Roy played so many minutes in the 4th. I don't understand what Nate was thinking at all, as a fan I am really concerned with the way nate handled tonight, i understand he was trying to save lamarcus, but he pulled him way too early. I understand he's trying to get Roy going, but he never got going, and at what point don't you look at who's on the floor and say you know what he's getting a lot of opportunities and he's not really doing anything to benefit what we are trying to do.
I've always been a huge Nate fan, but why keep a struggling Roy out there and keep Camby on the bench?

That being said Dallas has traditionally done bad good game 1 and bad game 2, but still Nate gave this one away, I really really hope he learns from tonight...

@ Crim...my guess, and it's only a guess, is that he felt Roy gave him more of an offensive threat, particularly in the paint, and would not allow the easy double on LA...the player I'm sure tagged as being the closer.  I feel ya though.

I lost track of how many times Dirk adjusted the bra strap, as I flipped back and forth between ESPN and 8, in an attempt to determine which was the least nauseating...Dorris Burke or the subjective biases of the Blazer crew.  In one five minute stretch though, I counted 7 times on ESPN, lol!

Tonight was total BS by the refs. We got called for the stupidest touch fouls every damn time, while the Mavs got away with everything. Total bs. Dirk bowls over Gerald and it was a blocking foul. We did the same exact thing a little later and all of a sudden it is a charge. I'm getting sick of this year after year! I find it really hard to believe all these years and all these different players we always have the more foul prone team in the playoffs against ANYBODY we play against.

At least for once it seems Nate is pissed about it and he spoke about it in the postgame.

Nice links.  I would bet money Nate gets fined for his comments (not allowed to insinuate the refs decided the game), but I'm very happy he addressed it numerous times in the interview.  Mental warfare on the Refs takes place in Playoff basketball, it's good to see Nate came with his ammo.

Additionally, besides Camby's rebounding and LMA's first quarter (and part of his 4th quarter), we didn't have a very good game.  Lots of scrappy play, lots of missed 3's, slow rotations on defense.  All in all, I'm very optimistic about game 2 and the series in general.  Dallas had to have the 'game of the year' from Kidd and lots of help from the officials, and they still lost the 2nd half (in points) to the Blazers..and did so on their home court.

I'd like to change my prediction to Blazers in 5.  The Mavs didn't have a bad game, they were just shut down.  People said Dirk would get his points.  Guess they weren't lying,  he got them from the freaking FT line.  But overall we played great D and got what we wanted early.  We won every stat except FTs and PFs.  I'm happy.  Blazers in 5.

All in all not a horrible game who would of thunk that Kidd would find his stroke. Wesley got into foul trouble early and that threw his game way off. Gerald kinda disappeared for half the game, Roy looked like he was afraid to shoot the dam ball, Rudy not much of a factor one good 3 and a key turnover. Batum kind of a slow start but pretty solid play throughout,Camby yeeha I hope we can expect that throughout, Miller had a goood game, Lamarcus was terrific outside the second quarter. We lost this one but we could have easily won it and the Mavs know this. Kidd came out on fire, between him and Chandlers defense on LA is probably the key to their win last night.

The blazers have potential to win this round. We need to step up in our defensive game and block out so we are able to out rebound Dallas. Blazers need to be patient and look for the right shot. We need to get the ball to Crash because he is aggressive and takes it to the hoop every time and draws the foul. LA needs to step up his game second half. You could tell we gave up in the fourth. I am looking forward to Tuesday game. We are going to come into the game pump and ready to win. Lets go Blazers!!!!! RIP CITY FOR LIFE!!!:)

The only way to beat Dallas is to run, we need transition offense! We won't beat them in the half court. The Blazers get into a stagnant offense in the half court. They seem lost at times, no ball movement, no players moving, setting picks. The only positive here is LA and his ally-opps. I know you can't run the whole game, but we are younger, and with the acquistion of CRASH, we should do well running. Why can't coach Mac. see this? Some will probably say that the players rotation is too small for the play-offs. I say use the young legs, use the same amount of players, just like the regular season, and try running. Mac. will be glad he did.
