Brandon Roy 2nd Team All-NBA Now that Brandon is one of the Top 10 players currently in the NBA, just how good is he? Top 10, Top 5, Top 3? In my biased opinion, only 3 players stand above Roy: LeBron, Kobe, & Wade. CP3 is the best point guard in the game, but something rubbed me the wrong way about his performance this year. I know they had injuries, but so did we. I think they just quit on their coach. Roy would never do that. Dwight Howard puts up the stats, but I just don't think he can be counted on to be the 4th quarter star that Roy is. When you need a bucket in the 4th, Roy delivers. Opposing teams foul D12, because they know he is shaky at the line. Not to mention, he needs some work on the post moves. So there's my top 6, with Roy being the 4th best player, where does everyone else rank him?

It is hard to judge players of such different positions. You can clump guards and SF in kinda the same group, but you can't really considder a player like Yao against a player like Roy. I think Yao is actually a better center than Howard. He has a jump shot, can play with his back to the basket, pass out of the double team, and hit freethrows, even late in the game. Now, he isn't very atheletic, but nobody is at 7'6". I agree that Lebron, Wade, and Kobe are 1,2, &3 right now, but I think Roy will edge out Kobe frankly when you look at impact as a team player. Kobe is induvidually dominant and can score at will, but when it comes to winning games he needs other top tier players to do it. The Lakers have one of the best support rosters in the league that is more of a reason they are winning than Kobe himself. If a player like LeBron or Roy were playing there, I would bet that all the players on that team looked even more dominant in their respective positions. I give LeBron and Wade over Roy based on current skill level and their "killer instinct." Roy needs to develop that and then he will be in the top 3 in the NBA.

No way RCP, Lebron and Wade are terrible at basketball. I totally disagree, B-Roy whoops those chowder-heads blindfolded. 2nd Team All-NBA? When was the last time we had a Blazer obtain that feat? Huh? Huh? Well, there you go. B-Roy gets 6th in guards for All-Star voting, but by the end of the day, he's one of the best. And his career is just starting. What do they say in Cleveland? "WE ARE ALL WITNESSES."

I'd have to say that Roy, as of right now, is the 5th best player in the nba, behind LeBron, Kobe, Wade, and Paul. I don't think Dwight Howard is as great as people think he is. He has very few, if any, post moves and the only way he scores on a post up is if he gets a player on him that he can just overpower. It's true that he is a great rebounder and shot blocker and no one can argue with that, but my only problem with his shot blocking is that he goes for the wow factor by hitting the ball as far/hard as he can, usually straight out of bounds, giving the ball right back to the other team. How many times have you seen him block a shot that his team recovered? I don't know if I've seen any. This is why I think Roy is better than him. Of course I have many more reasons and I'm not saying that B-Roy is a great rebounder that blocks tons of shots to his own guys, obviously because he plays shooting guard, but he has a much wider skill set and takes over games. Now that I really think about it, I'm not sure why I have Kobe and Wade ahead of Roy. They all can take over games, knock down jumpshots, pretty much score at will and in clutch situations, and are good defenders. Roy actually has a better field goal percentage than Kobe (48% to 46.7) and he's just behind Wade (49.1), and has a better 3 pt percentage than both (37.7% to kobe's 35.1 and wade's miserable 31.7). He has about the same average assists as kobe (just .2 better), but it's about 2 less than Wade. Kobe is better at something though, free throws, 85.6% to Roy's 82.4 to Wade's 76.5. I don't care about rebounds for a guard so I didn't even check. This got longer then I was planning so I guess I'm about done.

Based on stats I'd say that it goes Wade, Roy, Kobe. I'll let you decide where Chris Paul goes. So I guess I'm gonna say Roy is 3rd to 4th. After all this I'll say LeBron, Wade, Paul, Roy, Kobe with a close 3-way tie for second. (Not a fan of Kobe... at all, but he does deserve some props... I guess)

How can you have him over many players? I just pray that KG will retire next year but that won't happen
    so here it goes:
    1. LeBron James
    2. Kobe Bryant
    3. Dwight Howard
    4. Kevin Garnett
    5. Brandon Roy
    6. Dwyane Wade
    7. Chauncey Billups
    8. Dirk Nowitzki
    9. Carmelo Anthony
    10. Chris Bosh (underrated player)

On good days D-Wade and Chauncey Billups beat B-Roy out of the 5 spot but they are older and Roy is the future

I have to agree with Jared, it seems that Bradon is the 5th best in the NBA behind James, Kobe, Wade and Paul but next year who knows.

At this point in his career, KG is no where near top 5, top 10 is even questionable

Not DPOY. All American. Player of the year in his conference twice. Past four years, McCollum, Muscala, McCollum, Muscala.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
