    per Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld
When the Milwaukee Bucks decided not to extend Earl Barron's second 10-day contract, the Portland Trailblazers were one of the first teams to reach out to the center.  The Blazers were looking to bolster their frontcourt for a playoff push and felt that the seven-footer was the perfect man for the job.

With Marcus Camby injuring his neck last week, Portland's frontcourt is as thin as ever so the Blazers have decided to bring in Barron for a workout, according to league sources.  The free agent arrived in Portland last night and is expected to be evaluated today.  In November, Barron went through a similar workout with the Blazers, but the team ultimately decided to sign Sean Marks.

If Portland decides to sign Barron, he will be eligible to play in the post-season because he was playing on successive 10-day contracts in Milwaukee.  He also had a twelve game stint with the Phoenix Suns.

This season, Barron has averaged 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds, but he has been productive when given minutes.  Last season, the center averaged 11.7 points and 11.0 rebounds after being inserted into the NY Knicks' starting line-up late in the season.
Any move made, no matter how insignificant at face value, with designs of keeping LA and GW in their natural positions more often, I am supportive of.  When speaking of the post-season, can you really have TOO MUCH size?  Adding a player like Barron might prove to be particularly helpful when facing teams with deeper front-courts...Dallas for instance.

That would be a really good pickup! Hopefully we get him and he works out and keeps productive when playing!

I'd rather sign a D-League guy like Johnson. It seems like they always have a little something extra to prove.

    via Blazersedge.com:

Jay Allen of 95.5 reported today that Robert Swift and Dwayne Jones were also in Portland today working out for the team.

Joe Freeman of the Oregonian has reported that Rich Cho will reportedly not make a decision on any of the three today, but may sign a player later this week

Howard would be fine if he was the same player he was in Orlando, but his back has really slowed him down and he is no longer the most dominant center in the league. His offense was always trying to dunk on people and getting fouled he has not imp...

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
