After the wake-up call that was Tuesday night against Golden State, Portland must now rebound quickly and tackle their remaining four games with vengeance. The loss pulled them even with the Hornets in the loss column and since N.O. has the tiebreaker, we are essentially in 7th if the Hornets win tonight. It was apparent the Trail Blazers were overlooking the lottery team from the Bay and in April, during playoff chases, you just can't get away with it. Hopefully this loss ignites the team as they start their home stretch with Utah Thursday night at the Salt Palace. Historically, the Trail Blazers don't have much success in Salt Lake (61-16), but they did knock off Utah at home in December, 96-91. Also, this is the first time Portland has faced the new-look Jazz without Deron Williams. Finally, it looks like Devin Harris, who's missed a few games, will be back in the lineup by the time tipoff rolls around.

Utah is only 20-19 at home, so they have lost some of their home court magic they once had a stranglehold on and they are eliminated from the playoffs for the first time since 2005. If Portland can assert themselves early on, the Jazz may concede. But if Portland allows Utah to hang around much like they did with Golden State, it could be a long night for Rip City. Utah is a big team, with Derrick Favors, Al Jefferson & Paul Millsap, so Portland won't have the decided advantage down low, but we can take advantage of them on the wings. Look for Batum and Wallace to put the ball on the floor and have their way with the likes of CJ Miles and Gordan Hayward.

Here's the deal.  NOH won tonight.  Win, or face the Lakers.  At this point, we're obviously the better team.  We drop this, we're going against the Lakers.  It's completely the Blazers decision.  No excuses at this point, you get your ass out there and play.  If you don't, prepare to receive a lot of hate from Portland fans that are more sick of the first round than the players are.

Portland would have to win out to even have a shot at the 6th seed with NO's schedule and them owning the tie break.  To win out, you are further depleting your star PF and this team's only shot in the post-season.  For what?  The HOPE that NO loses a couple they shouldn't?  Rest the starters, esp LA and finish 8th.  The Spurs are the only other team with as thin a front line as Portland and the Blazers have played them well ALL year.  Give the inconsistent performers on the bench a good run.  If even ONE of them catches fire in these final four games...coupled with a well rested LA?  THAT'S what we want.  Camby is already out for at least tonight, and probably tomorrow against the Lakers.

42 minutes last night for LA.  Not good.  There are reasons the man went 6-19 from the floor.  At this point, even the crystal ball is shaking it's head.

as much as i'd like to see LA's minutes down.

i think nate has earned my trust.

as well as with the job him and the players have done the past few seasons. i personally believe nate and the blazers should have earned all blazer fans trust.

but hey. everyone is allowed their opinion.

I am a fan of defence.

Not two months. It wasn''t a major injury, X rays came back positive. I know he played because we had no one who could replace him, and that was admirable, but it simply does not take that long. When he had a good game, he said my wrist felt good....

Yeah I was one of them *blushes*. I was never a diehard fan of basketball until the 2011-2012 postseason. I could name every team, but I always forgot two. Kings and Blazers.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
