    but what did he accomplish, you can get 6, 957 carrer assists with 6 nba championships on one of the greatest celtic teams in history.......and people can still mis-spell your name.

    I like Miller, but he is NO Bob Cousy! Bob is one of the greatest passers in NBA history. He played in 13 All Star games, was a All Star MVP 4 times, league MVP 2 times, 1st team All NBA 10 times, averaged 18.4 PPG in his career. These are a few of Bob's accomplishments. Very few ever played like Cousy did. I remember watching Bob as a kid on TV almost every Sunday. His behind the back passes were incredible. That's when I became a Celtic fan, and still am. Oh, and Bob scored 16,960 points in his career and was a very good defender.

    I was not downplaying Dre's accomplishment, because I personally think it is very impressive. All I was saying Tom was that they obviously don't suck, regardless of who you are a fan of. I don't like them either, just saying that maybe "I hate the celtics" would have been a better phrase. But its cool

    I didn't say you were downplaying it, baulkwonder was.  Especially if you look at Cousy playing from 50-63 and Dre only from 2000-2011 so far and he's already passed him. I think Dre is not as flashy obviously but I think he is a much better passer.

    Also, almost all non Laker fans think and say that the Lakers suck, obviously they don't, it is a figure of speech. And actually, the Celtics aren't doing so good since they traded away Perkins, which I thought was a really bad move for them. So yes I stand by my original statement! Celtics suck!

    You know I started this post for Kudos for Andre Miller. Not a Bob Cousy Sucks post, which I dont think he does but that is irrelavant, But what Andre did was a pretty amazing thing without having all the tools that Cousy did throughout his career. So I will say again..congratulations Andre.
    I do this because Andre is on my favorite basketball team which happens to be the Portland Trailblazers and has been for 40 years. So any other comments and comparisons to other players past or present really doesn't make any sense to the fact that if you are on this website you are a supposed fan of the team.

    I agree! But I would just like to clarify I wasn't saying Cousy sucked at all. Dre passing Bob Cousy is a great accomplishment. I think since Dre is not flashy he is simply not recognized enough for the great passer he is. He dishes out some pretty amazing passes all the time. The kind where you wonder "How did he get it there and how did he even see him?!?!" I just think he is very underrated by fans, even Blazer fans.

    Funny I wrote that last post before I watched the Laker game. Andre had a pass to Wallace, in the 3rd I think, where I jumped up and said how'd he get that there? Plus he had 13 assists, 4 of them were alley oops!!

    So now I'm being called "baulkwonder" by you? Sorry for implying you were ten. I obviously set the bar too high. For the record, I wasn't downplaying Miller's accomplishment at all. Miller passed Cousy in the All-Time assists category. I was commenting on how, as great a player Miller is, he IS NO BOB COUSY. That is obvious and should have gone without saying. For that, I apologize.

    Congratulations to Dre, and great thread barnettfan!  As per the norm with Miller, this thread is not getting the attention it deserves.  I really believe Andre is one of the most underrated PGs the league has ever had.  Miller is truly a player that makes those around him better, which is exactly what you look for at that position.  I didn't have the opportunity to see 'the Cooz' play, but would have loved to.  At the time of this post, Andre is at 7,031 career assists (14th all-time).  Noteables in front of him include Blazer icon Terry Porter (12th with 7,160 career assists) and Mo Cheeks (10th-7,392).  I'm confident Miller will finish his career comfortably in the top 10, making his time as a Blazer something that should be recognized and appreciated.  Still, unfortunate the league had to strip him of his consecutive games played record earlier this season.
