    From Sporting News-
LaMarcus Aldridge learned early last season that Andre Miller was a different kind of point guard. It was Aldridge’s fourth year with the Portland Trail Blazers and Miller’s first, and Miller told Aldridge to curl off of a screen and head to the basket. When he got there, so would the ball, Miller said.

Aldridge, a 6-11 power forward, was skeptical. “I’m like, ‘I can’t see you,’” he told the 6-2 Miller, the obvious implication being if he couldn’t see Miller, then Miller couldn’t see him, either, and how could he make such a pass? “He said, ‘Just do it, and I’ll get it to you.’”

The point guard-as-quarterback is perhaps too easy an analogy, but in Miller’s case, in the way he passes, it fits perfectly. More so than many guards, he anticipates where teammates will be. “You just throw it to them and hope they see it coming,” he says. “It’s like a quarterback in football. You have to throw it before the receiver makes his move, or it’s going to be intercepted. That’s how I look at it.”

Also, Dre passed Bob Cousy for 14th All-Time in assists last night. Congrats Andre!

Nice article, I wish it were longer. One funny thing about Andre is he is known for being quiet off the court, but all the time when I watch games on tv he is the loudest. I hear him all the time yelling at refs "TRAVEL!!!" or "THAT'S A FOUL!!" and calling things out on d. ha ha

i will give miller credit for his dishes, he has impressed me this season. and as soon as this team stepped it up in transition he showed why he has been playing for so long.

I think the best thing about Dre is he isn't even showing his age. With his style and knowledge on the court; He still has many years left in him. The man is never injured! Not to mention his games played streak speaks for itself. Only broke his record because of a suspension and a death.

The think I have come to appreciate about Dre is the way he doesn't shoot much until they need him to. When scoring gets tough, that's when he starts to try to score, and he has a knack for getting to the line. I know scoring isnt typically the biggest part of his game, but he seems to be willing to do the right thing and know what it is to give the Blazers the best chance to win. I don't care what position you play - thats a player. I really like the guy and I think we're lucky to have him around.

I completely agree he could be that voice on the court we need. Lamarcus just isn''t that guy and Damian can learn some on court leadership from him. A small lineup when we need a score bad of Dame, Wes, Paul, Nic, and Lamarcus would be potent.

Howard is great but his back injury and shoulder issues this year were troubling.

I see the only way JJ stays is if we were able to trade LA for a dominant center, which I really do not see happening. But we would still have the same awful interior defense if we kept both. It''s not just one on one defense against opposing bigs...

I would agree Harris seems more dynamic but Harkless looks pretty good as well.
