well i guess that he be back soon or later...and i believe he will do a nice job too.
i just don´t see him dominating...but the fact of his return would be a little revolution inside the team...
a game like the one played yesterday against the lakers would´ve ben a win...with the outside players we have, adding such an inside presence would round up everything!

so i say let´s give him time, and when he´s back the ball (down low, please no experiments!)
I am a fan of the blazers 'cause they don´t rely on 1 particular player 2 take 25 shots a game 2 b competitive, the guy having THE NIGHT gets the ball..

I think so. There will be offers, I'm sure. They'll be higher than we want to pay, but Portland will match (unless someone gets really crazy). My guess is, just from what I've read, that Houston and Golden State will both make offers. I'm sure there will be others too. There's just too much upside to hanging on to him. For whatever we pay, it will be a bargain if he can just stay on the floor for say 60+ games.

he more than likely but as a last chance for the blazers. other franchises might still like him though. if he gets injured one more time then his career is over. but that wont happen and GO  will help PDX get a championship next year!

Are you nuts? Oden has no trade value period!! Who wants a player that spends his whole career on the bench?

like dont get me wrong, i want him to come back, i want him to play, i understand the beast of a player he is and the huge difference he would make....
but there is one huge problem.....youve got no irish players on the team....how can you get lucky if you dont have any irish guys.....some green...... hahaha

i just look at what i know about portland, it doesnt have the best of luck, if anything this season should prove how hard this team has had to fight for everything it earned. But oden is what 0-3/0-4 on comebacks?
its just highly unlikley, but if by some Oregon Miracle on Ice he comes back, start drafting up the "Thanks for Trying, it really was a great season" cards to send to the rest of the teams in the NBA during the championship party......

I didn't like drafting him over Durant. Joel had a good year and wham, they draft Oden. This had to play into Joel's head. "I worked my ass off all year and gave my all, didn't leave when I could have, and I could have made much more cash if I would have left Portland and went to San Antonio. Where do you think Portland would be with Kevin Durant today, instead of Oden? I know one thing for sure, we'd be much healthier. I dont' see Oden playing alot of minutes next year, if he does play at all. If that is the case then it will most likely take him half of the season to get into decent game playing shape. Everytime he goes out on the floor everyone will hold their breath, hoping he doesn't twist a knee or ankle, or anything. Remember, he got injured a couple of years ago just moving around the floor by himself. His knee just gave out without any contact.

So, it's a toss-up, like flipping a coin. Will he play or not, that is the question to which only Oden has the answer. I hope he does, will see. In the meantime, I hope Portland is thinking about another center, cause we sure could use one that actually plays.

probably in the seed that okc has.hahaha.

but i will say this, a health Oden is more valuable to any team/franchise than a healthy durant any day.
Durant is krazy good dont get me wrong, but when Oden is healthy, 7 feet tall and damn near 300 lbs, there is just no one that can stop that.
    god he is a beast.

I dont whine that we got the injured one, dont matter which one we pick it seems he will be the one that gets injured or does not pan out. Thompson, Bowie, Walton, Roy, Oden. The thing of it is we drafted what we thought we needed at the time. The Durant/Oden debate is moot, might as well bring up the Bowie/Jordan debate while you are at it. I still think it was the best pick at the time and even if we had picked Durant he would have probably shattered his hipbone getting his Blazer hat on draft day. Just saying that is how our luck holds. All I ask for is that Oden gives us 1 Healthy season and we can see that street party one more time

I really think that he will get the offer from the Blazers this summer and I'm willing to bet a team will give him a better one forcing the Blazers to make a decision...  I really believe they should keep Oden... If it's the one year offer, for sure.... If it's matching a couple year deal (let's be serious, he probably won't get offered more than a three year deal anyways) they should do it as well.

Keeping Oden's minutes down early in the season will be key, ease him back in.  With the Blazer's style of play and the pieces in place, having Oden back, even if it's 25 mpg, will be the difference maker.

not necessarily, i can see the argument that states, "he hasnt done anything to get better"
but also he hasnt done anything to lower in skill either.
Oden 07 before any games, injury, but you saw how he balled when he was healthy, little did we all know he still had the knee injury.
Oden still has the injury and may always will, but he will always be a beast imo.

Yes, Greg will play next year for us. We have already invested 4 years into him, why not a couple more? I think the risk is worth the reward. They say the first knee he had microfracture on is now stronger than ever, so hopefully the other knee that just had that same surgery is just as strong. The thing with Greg is that he shores up all of our weaknesses and would make us instant title contenders if he could play a full season for us.

well others might say, the risk potentially not going all the way, oden has played a better obstruction than he has addition, he could just slow this team down, and this team is getting better year by year.

@TayC: How do you figure the Blazers have gotten better year by year?
    2008-'09: 54 wins, 28 losses.
    2009-'10: 50 wins, 32 losses.
2010-'11: ...I think you've gotten the picture by now.

Nevertheless, Oden coming back will be great. I hope the big fella gets in there and show's Westbrook & Durant who the big daddy is and why we drafted him every time one of them drives to the hole.

I say if Portland makes an offer and Oden does not sign then we should use him as part of a sign and trade deal. The team has given him a lot of money over the last 3 years for him to play a total of 1 season. I feel he owes the team 2 years so he should take a pay loss and stick with the Blazers as they have stuck with him. He should quit talking to the press hinting about possibly playing somewhere else. As far as being compared to "Sam Bowie" well if the shoe fits..... If it does not then live with it. ROLL ON BLAZERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i figure it by how far they get in theri seasonal play, to be honest the numbers for the games a team wins-or loses means about as much to me as how often they tie their shoes before their games - and games where the laces are pre tied and they slip the shoes over their feet.

What happened earlier this season? huh? Do you remember all the trials and tribulations this team went through? it was about as dramatic as the bold and beautiful on cbs afternoon television..... and look at how hard this team has fought to get to where they are this season, and then numbers dont tell any of that.
To simply look at the numbers that a team produces year in and year out is only a part of the story.
i could further explain it but i am satisfied that if you perceive a team only by its numbers then you are missing out on some real basketball my hombre.......

but i think westbrook might move a little to fast for greg's knee, a bit faster than it can turn, hahah.

I still believe in Greg. I just really want to see him play so he can enjoy the game. How would you feel if you were physically unable to do your job, hobby or passion? You can do it Greg, we've got your back! Just please rock the Patrick Ewing style knee pads though..taking no more chances this time around!!

What? The last time Oden got hurt way back when, his knee just gave out. Not wearing a knee pad had nothing to do with it.
