Do you think the blazers will get past the first round with this unstable play as of late? I think its better to be 7th or 8th so we can play dallas or the spurs. What do you guys think?

We'll see how they fare these last 16 games. I certainly hope they get past the 1st round, but, depending on who they play, I don't think they will.

The bigger question is...how important is that to you, the Blazer fan?  Given the season that we have witnessed, MAKING the playoffs is remarkable.  Taking that into consideration, I am looking for a strong showing in the first round, win or lose.  I'd be content with that.  Not happy, content.

I really think it important that we not raise expectation levels too high for this team closing out this season.  Throwing out a few lackluster performances (inevitable with every team, every season), most recently the Bobcat and Hawk games, this season has offered Blazer fans countless reasons to be proud.

What needs to happen is Portland needs to show it is a contender NOW. So next year when Greg is back and we have everyone healthy for the majority of the season people will fear us and call us "The Team to Beat"

Fact: Probably not going to win championship this year but making a statement this year will only help next year.(if players dont get too many injuries)

I agree 100% and be prepared to see B. Roy, M. Camby, and A. Miller after the season is over, mabey Rudy as well in a big trade to clear cap space. I believe we will pick Nolan Smith with our 1st pick in the draft.

whoa! that would suck! i would not like this team anymore......but if portland finds itself unsuccessful in the post season, then i could see them kinda of doing this or something like it.

HOLD ON! What are you talking about? Roy aint leaving and neither is Camby. Dre maybe (Hope not) and Rudy possibly.  but Your statement was bold and untrue Roy is showing flashes of vintage Roy and that means Blazers showing flashes of a championship in 2-3 years. getting Oden back can only help because we dont have big men and Oden will get a lot of playing time.

Looks like the OTHER Blazer team showed up last night against the Mavs. Everyone was charged up. Brandon Roy looked like the Ole' Roy. Now, can the team build on this, play hard the rest of the way, or will we see another lack-luster effort the next game? HOLD ON! Now you're talking Championship in a couple of years after this last game?? And getting Oden back for next year and Oden logging in many minutes? If Portland gets Oden back next year, and I do mean IF, his playing time will be limited. Nate will monitor Oden's minutes very close if he does return. I can't see him getting much more than 15-18 minutes a game, if he does return. And how long do you think it will take him to get into top physical condition? I don't see him being anything close to the player he was capable of being, but thats JMO. I guess time will tell. Still, it was a great win against a very good Dallas team last night. What I really liked about the game was how Portland responded in the first quarter when Dallas was so hot. They MATCHED THE INTENSITY. It was a dog fight right to the end. Great win for them! Let's hope this can continue.

Are you serious? I still see LA as the team to beat. They have a great coach,(Jackson), the best player, (Kobe), and the best center, (Gasol). And NO, I'm not a Laker fan. I can't stand the Lakers. I always think of game 6 2002 Western Conference Finals. That corruption still bothers me when it comes to the NBA. Tim Donaghy got caught fixing games and told the true story, but it was squashed and swept under a rug. It was stated by Donaghy that a small market team will never win another NBA title. The NBA stands to lose too much cash with a small market. What's that say about Portland? Will they ever win another one? Donaghy says NO. But San Antonio did so I guess there is hope. Anyway, I don't really see the terrible officiating today that I saw a few years ago, so it could be that Donaghy is wrong. The Lakers won fair and square last year and I would not count them out this year. I see Portland having a hard time with whoever they face in the first round.

We could beat the Mavericks since they are overated and also because they choke in the playoffs like every year.  We would lose if we play the spurs or Lakers though.  Those 2 teams are just too good in the playoffs because of their experience.  We should hope that we get either the thunder or Mavericks since those are the 2 teams we would have the best chance to beat because of matchups and playoff experience and such.

I think nobody in the West wants to play Portland.  A hot Portland team can beat anyone.  The question is will we stay hot?  I think we will end up the 5th seed playing OKC.  A little pay back for those 2 close wins they had earlier in the year.  We advance to take on the Spurs in round 2.

I think so. This team is way better than their record. with all of the injuries, were going to roll into the playoffs healthy for a change. plus... our team is a lot better since the wallace trade. its taking a while to get groovin', but its coming together nicely. If we had played with wallace all year and had avoided some of the injuries to camby and brandon, we would be a 4 seed at the least. Portland would beat Dallas, has a chance against OKC. The lakers and spurs are long shots, but portland matches up pretty well with them both. It should be fun. cant wait!

Portland lost to LA last night, but the energy was there. They sure had their chances. But they still lost, they lost the game and Camby as well. Joel, Joel...... Not having Joel will bite Porland in the play-off's. But the team is playing hard, and that is a good sign. Keep it up, who knows, maybe if we play anyone but LA or San Antonio, we might advance in the first round, but we'll still need a big man and trading Joel may not have been worth it.

We will get beat easily if we play the Lakers or Spurs since they are just too good in the playoffs because of their experience and in the Laker's case because of Kobe.  Also I really hope we dont play the Lakers since I like them too.  Thats why I hope we get the Mavericks, they are experienced and all but it seems like they never make it past the first round even when they are a high seed.  I doubt we will get up to 5th so we probably won't play the Thunder but if we can just get up to 6th I feel like we at least have a good chance of beating the Mavs.

Can't take anything away from Kobe but as a Blazer fan I saw the team fall appart late in the game with costly turn-overs and mistakes. If they take care of the rock and play smart, they win. They always seem to fade-to-black when they play the Lakers. But after watching the game I know they can beat them, just wish we still had Joel. Phoenix took them to 3 overtimes last night before losing. I sure get tired of the Lakers winning close games.
