How can Portland get back on tract against Dallas?
Contain Dirk (Under 25 points) (2)
     9%
Bench Production (25+ bench points) (1)
     4%
3 Point Shooting (Make at least 40%, min 6) (0)
     0%
Energy (Win the Hustle Board - rebounds, blocks, steals) (15)
     65%
Rebound (Win the rebounding battle/limit 2nd chance points) (5)
     22%

Although the Trail Blazers are 0-2 against the Mavericks so far this year (dropping a 98-103 affair on Dec. 15th & losing a heartbreaker 81-84 on Jan. 4th in Dallas) and coming off of two, difficult losses, I'm excited that we have a quality opponent in the Rose Garden Tuesday night. The guys will be energized to play against one of the Top 5 teams in the league and always seem to play their best when challenged against a an elite team. Also, Caron Butler was involved in both contests earlier this year and without him, it takes away another weapon for Dallas to use.

For Portland to win, they need to play energized, bottom line. Against Charlotte & Atlanta, it was evident that the usual spark wasn't there. Teague and Dante were out-working us in both games and when your shots aren't hitting, the winner of the game will usually be the team who's being more active. Get off to a quick start and allow the 6th man to push the team over the top. Finally, stop the ball. Kidd, Terry & Barea all love to penetrate and either create for others or take it all the way themselves.

Where's the "all of the above" vote lol.  I can't see Portland coming away with a W unless they pull off at least three of those four options.  If I had to narrow it down to two I wanna' see high 3pt% and domination on the glass.

I say all of the above as well contain J.J. Barea he the one that always kills us, if the game is close watch out for Dirk and Terry in the fourth since they are the top two scorers in the fourth, Jason Kidd is also known to hit a big three as well and LA has to have an inprint on this game and try to get there bigs in foul trouble, and last but not least the Portland crowd has to show as well because after the road trip this team need energy.

IMO, the key tonight is getting Aldridge going early and often, establishing a low-post game right from the tip.  LA literally holds the keys to this team's destiny this year.  The recent Johnson signing gives Nate alot more flexibility up front, particularly when considering Dallas' depth at center.  Sense of urgency (energy) is a close second tonight for me.

Great win. I'm still not sure how we won while allowing 60% shooting, but Dallas does have great shooters and they were dissecting our defense with dribble penetration. They play great team basketball and would be a much tougher playoff matchup than I had anticipated.

Back to us though. Brandon looked fantastic leading the 2nd unit. We got Aldridge going (esp getting him dunks early on seems to get him in rhythm). And hey, we finally hit some 3's! It really is amazing to see how less the defense collapses on LA when our shooters are hot from downtown.

Now comes the real test, Cleveland and Philly. We need to not play down to their level and show them we mean business. I'd love to see back-to-back dominating performances heading into Staples on Sunday.

I'm loving the way this team is really coming together... They are really starting to play like a team and it is so fun and amazing to watch. Their chemistry is just awesome and will take us a long way and i think it will only get better. Really looking forward to see how they finish the season.

No other team this season has shot a better percentage AND LOST.  Congrats Dallas, on your dubious distinction!  When Roy and Aldridge combine for 50+, this Blazer team is going to be hard to beat.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
