Scott Schroeder of Ridiculous Upside writes this morning that the Portland Trailblazers are looking at giving D-Leaguer Chris Johnson another run in Portland, this time for the remainder of the season.  According to the article, there exists some confusion as to whether he would be eligible for the playoff roster however.

In watching Johnson's play, most recently with the Boston Celtics, my concern(s) is not unlike everyone else's.
Very slight of frame, defensively, Johnson was an offensive put-back waiting to happen and seemed to have a difficult time keeping his man off the glass.  After watching the Atlanta game, I'm not sure the Blazers need any "help" in that area.  He IS very athletic and can get up and down the floor fairly well for his size.  In Nate's zone, Johnson's frame would be tougher to take advantage of in the post for opposing teams.

Adding Johnson with the recent addition of Collins is a bit of a head scratcher.  For my money, this team needs a tough interior player, at both ends, and a player that provides the type of force with attitude now missing with Pride-billa gone.  Not sure Johnson is the answer.

I like it.  He didnt play to well while he was in Portland since he didnt get any minutes but in the one game I saw him play in Boston right after the Perkins trade he actually looked pretty good.
I am a fan of the Blazers draft selections. Feels good to finally be able to say that

On the fence about it.  I think ultimately bringing him up would be a precautionary measure more than anything.  The guy is an athlete though and if he added on thirty to forty pounds of muscle he'd be a monster on the floor.  He's got the speed and jumping ability.  Just needs to get some weight behind the kineticism.

The guy can't dunk! Haha, sorry, something my buddy always says when I mention Chris Johnson's name. He's not a bad idea, but at the same time really has glaring issues relating to his size. Looks kinda like a young Camby with tons of potential as long as he gains some weight. Johnson did have some better production with the C's so I guess he's worth another shot, just wish there was a stronger option...

The Portland Trailblazers have signed Chris Johnson for the remainder of the year, according to team officials.  Johnson will wear #17.  The release from the team does not specifically address eligibility concerns for the post-season raised in the initial Scott Schroeder article however.  This represents the D League All-Stars longest stint and best opportunity to date in the NBA.

    Welcome back to Portland Chris!

Good to see this guy settle into a city for a while, he has been bouncing all over the place since he left college.

You know what is good about the draft you can usually move up and down if your willing. We could have gotten Drummond and everyone here knows it. We also could have taken Harkless, or Henson at 11 or moved back a few spots. We also could have draf...

They has a specialist come in 2008 and say flat out that Oden and Roy were going to have knee issues. If you know the knees are going to be a potential issue then as a training staff you need to work on strengthening that area, healing it and help...

Maybe we should go for Pekovic as a restricted free agent and see what Minn will do.
