What is the biggest key to victory?
    Play with energy (12)
     39%
Dominate the paint (45+ paint points) (7)
     23%
Limit 2nd chance points from Charlotte (less than 10) (2)
     6%
Score 100+ points (Bobcats 7-17 when opp. scores 100) (2)
     6%
Bench Production (20+ bench pts) (8)
     26%

After sweeping the Sunshine State, Portland heads to Charlotte to visit some old friends. One of them, Joel Przybilla, may not play tomorrow night with an apparent injury to the leg. Add that to the fact that Stephen Jackson is likely to miss yet another game due to a strained right hamstring and Tyrus Thomas will also be unavailable due to a left knee injury. Not only is Charlotte short-handed, but small in stature. Portland needs to take advantage of their size and length and completely own the paint and boards, similar to what they had to do against Orlando without Howard.

The result of this game will be ultimately decided by the Trail Blazers. They are the more talented team, playing with much more to gain and have all the momentum in the world. If they approach this game as a must-win and are prepared with the right mental mindset, look for a similar result as to what occurred last Saturday in Portland where the Blazers cruised to a 93-69 win.

I say if we don't play to the level of our opponent we should has the same result as the last game and I expect G Wall to have a good game and a standing ovation when he comes in.

Gerald Wallace says this game will be emotional, since he was told the day he was traded that he won't be traded.  I expect the Blazers to feed off that emotion and cruise to another win.  EVERY game must be a must-win at this point.  No slacking off in March and April.

Again, it's not about starting, it's about finishing. Back to the upcoming game at hand, we need to play with energy. Everyone expects us to win and the Bobcats are without Przybilla and Diop, two big bodies. Tyrus Thomas, Matt Carroll, and Stephen Jackson are all game-time decisions as well. Come out, set the tone early on that Charlotte has no business in this game, and take over in the 2nd half. Rest the starters and get ready for revenge in ATL.

I said we needed to score 100+ points. If we do that, that means LA's probably having a big night, we're probably dominating the paint, and most likely we're playing with a lot of energy. Unless Jackson goes off for 50, I don't see how the Bobcats can keep up with us offensively.

Yes, I also said that we have to score 100+points, in offence since Wallace play for us and maybe without Jackson they are really poor. On the paper it is easy win for Blazers but Players have to prove theirs advantage during the match.

    GO BLAZERS !!!

I'd like Wallace to start just so he can throw it in the Bobcats face.  I can guarantee he's going to be sitting on the bench wanting in to win.

Am I the only one noticing that we have the old LA back?  Coincidentally enough, the regression seemed to start as Roy returned.  Interesting.  BTW, my vote above went to 45+ points in the paint (not 45 3-pt FGs attempted).  Very disheartening.  Not because its a loss, or even to whom it came against or where.  Disheartening because the Blazers didn't want to win.  Motivation was plentiful too, as a W would have put them in a tie for 5th with Denver.  With as much motivation as was present for tonights "game" and to see the "performance" I did, I'd say this team has issues.  No excuses for no effort.  Period.

That game, was horribly officiated.  With the way the Blazers played (terrible, btw), they still would have beat the Bobcats by at least 10 points.  13 more PFs and 14 less FTA.  Anyone that watched the game know these refs were just awful.  We had 10 more PF the entire game.  We also were under the hoop a lot.  Ridiculous.  Can't win a championship with Commy Stern running the show.

@Herr...I would be inclined to agree with you except it is difficult to draw whistles hoisting 3's all game.  The Bobcats were the aggressors tonight and earned their charity attempts as a result.  For whatever reason, the Blazers mailed this one in.

i think that blaming the officials or the lakers fans for every loss is enough qulification for a trip to rehab.

like someone please tell me where officiatiing causes players to miss 5 of their 11 shots?

Poor Shooting is what i would call it. If the blazer players would of connected on more of their shots this game would of been a different story.

You got Gerald out their with 5 turnovers, out rebounded by the other team, and they nailed more from the charity line.
Like why is it the Blazers lose games on fundamentals?
Rebounds, Free Throws....and you guys are talking about how far the team is finna get in the playoffs....
not far with that type of play.

but really i think what cost this team the game was the whopping 9 out of 27 three's!!!!
wow. now you are playing like Kobe.

Our shot selection was poor, but we took it to the rim lots of times and came up empty or with a TO because of the poor officiating.  Even in the stretch it was bad.  The only wrong call that helped us was Patty flopping (which was very stupid of him) and getting the last 2 Fts, which he missed.  These officials were bad, and if the game was called correctly, there is no doubt that the Blazers would have come up with the W.

Don't blame it on the refs. We took WAY too many 3's and it bit us in the but. If we had continued to attack the hoop and played better defense (esp on the defensive boards), we run away with this one. Charlotte went over 6 minutes without scoring and we simply didn't take advantage. Onto the next one..

but see what gets me the most, is if this "poor officiating" is out to get you then it should be no surprise when starting a game.
the team should look to consider that so that there is no flopping, or trying to draw a foul because of the chance it will go against the team.
the team shouldnt lose due to a bad call, make it a basket or a buzzer beating 3.
if it happens all the time, there should be no surprise and further more no excuse.
They will rebound big against ATL, get this blazer train back on its track

Outplayed in what way?  Portland shot a higher FG% with more FG made, more assists, more steals, more blocks, less turnovers and attempted 10 less FTs than Charlotte took.  Most of the losses I recall over the last four months by ten or less Portland dominated the box score everywhere but the FT.  And it's terribly lopsided in virtually all of those scenarios.  Not that Portland played well, it's just that they technically played better than the Bobcats.

And I'm not so much into the idea of Stern dictating the outcomes of games as frequently as people might think but his quotes towards Van Gundy were literally insane.

"I would render a guess ... that we won't be hearing from him for the rest of the season,"

"I have a feeling that some modicum of self-restraint will cause Stan and the team for which he works to rein in his aberrant behavior."

"It didn't bother me personally. I see somebody whose team isn't performing, whose star player was suspended, who seems to be fraying ..."

"When he stops and reads what he said and realizes what he did, he will say no more."

Who the hell talks like that?  Is Van Gundy gonna' turn up handless in a landfill? lol...

LA is truly the catalyst for this team. If he's not rolling offensively, neither is the team. We really need to get him involved earlier and use him as a decoy to get other players rolling. A great example of this was running a Wesley off of a curl, made possible by LA, and Dre found him curling off of Aldridge for the down the lane dunk.

you're really gonna do the whole "waahhh we shot less free throws???" did you watch the game? All we did was settle for jumpers how do you get to the foul line without attacking the hole? Again, the refs didn't lose this game, we did. Period
