    Via Hoopsworld-
"I was shocked," Wallace told HOOPSWORLD. "I was kind of disappointed because I didn't see it coming. It was just one of those things that you're not expecting and it catches you off guard."

In the hours leading up to the trade deadline, Wallace was confident that he wasn't going anywhere. That's because the decision makers in Charlotte repeatedly told him that he wouldn't be traded. Even on the morning of Feb. 24, the team reiterated that they had no plans to move him.
"This is a great situation for me. Other than Wesley [Matthews], everybody is pretty good," Wallace said before sharing a laugh with Matthews, who was sitting one locker away.

"Seriously though, it's a great situation," he said. "It's a good team and they're a good group of guys. They're playoff bound. Everyone is experienced in different situations and this is a very experienced organization. I'm just trying to come here and make the best of my situation."

Well, I don't blame him.  He was there for 7 years, and instantly switched.  He was the face of the franchise, and was nicknamed "Mr.Bobcat".  However, I think he'll eventually love it here.  Every Blazer does, except the previous Wallace.

A lot of the time its just the players saying what they are supposed to say rather then what they are hoenstly thinking. I just hope he is honestly happy in Portland. It will also be nice if we keep him around for a long time to come, and he stays to enjoy Portland. He could quickly become my favorite Blazer. A list topped by Wesley and LA.

With Roy and Wallace coming off the bench, we are a more physical team, and when you can sustain good defense into the second unit, your offensive flow doesn't miss a step as well.  Glad to see Wallace make such a huge impact last night, he sets an example for our other players that tend to stand around. I saw Batum get a weakside tip in rebound, something Wallace does often, and something I think we will see Batum do more dirty work from playing alongside Wallace.

Although they got a lot of possibility via the draft. Portland got the best of the trade. GO BLAZERS!!!!!!!

i agree, and on espn it said that he is starting to get to know his teamates better now and is liking being on a playoff team so it seems like he is already getting used to being a Blazer even though I'm sure he still is a bit surprised by the trade.

I am a fan of the Blazers draft selections. Feels good to finally be able to say that

I think when Wallace still feels betrayed and is still critical of the trade that sent him to the Blazers, it's an implied message that he has to start the remaining Blazer games to move on and go forward. He's been a starer as a Bobcat. His performance against the Heat really shows that he's worthy of becoming a starter.

I also think that Blazer fans should also stop saying bad things about MJ and say instead good things about Gerald Wallace. Those are two different things. Because if fans continue to berate Jordan because of that trade, it might bring back memories which are cherished and at times could be hurtful.

FANS SHOULD START LOBBYING THAT GERALD WALLACE SHOULD START GAMES...

Remember how upset Camby was when he got traded to the Blazers?  he expressed some real unhappiness regarding the deal initially.  He came around though.  So will Wallace.  I can understand why Wallace is upset but the NBA is a business first and foremost.  Putting him in the starting line up so that he can get over it is NOT the answer.  He has to find that within himself and I think in doing so will help him become an even better asset to the team.

I know it must suck having to leave your family behind, but from a hoops standpoint, I'd be doing cartwheels along the Burnside Bridge. He went from a nobody team to a team that now can compete in the West. I hope he brings his fam out here next year and can feel 100% comfortable in Portland. I know he's already getting used to the guys on the floor which is awesome and he's putting up some very nice stats for us!

to say that wallace will react the same way camby did is foolish, however plausible, it is foolish bcuz wallace is a heck of alot younger than Camby. Camby is also at the tail end of his career, maybe he wanted to finish it out in LA, or maybe he was a huge Blake Griffin Fan. ha

Wallace is all up in the news with this "stab in the back" and unforrtunatley it will result in bad press for both teams.
I would ask, who is more valuable to this franchise, not just this season, but overall, Camby could play the bench and be fine with it for the rest of the season, keep in mind he is 35 and has already injured himself twice this season he could be gone next year.
But as for Wallace, he is already unhappy, he, i assume was picked not just to fill a spot on the roster for the rest of the year, but for future seasons as well. (which makes no sense because it makes Batum look pointless, imo) but if he isnt happy, and stays un happy who knows, we could lose him, he could end up hurting the team more than helping.

his team may of not been "the best" but they were developing just as the blazers are/were, so if you would like to know how it would feel, picture the Blazers getting Pyrzbilla and
Cunningham for Aldridge, and the way he was playing this season.

I just dont see this trade turning into a happy ending, at all....
