Who will be the X-Factor for Portland against Miami?
Andre Miller (Points in the paint/forcing the double team) (4)
     13%
    Rudy Fernandez (Big 3's/assists) (1)
     3%
Patty Mills (Bench spark/outside shooting) (1)
     3%
Gerald Wallace (Defense on LeBron) (19)
     61%
    Wesley Matthews (Defense on Wade/Timely 3's) (6)
     19%

After taking care of business against the Magic, the Trail Blazers have won six consecutive road games but face the daunting task of playing the Heat on the second half of a back-to-back. Miami has lost five of six, including four straight and their lone win coming against the Wizards at home. After losing yet another game in the 4th quarter to the Bulls on Sunday, there were rumblings that the Heat players were crying after their latest setback. Now this could go one of two ways for Portland. The first: Miami could be in a state of emergency and if Portland brings it hard early on, Miami will falter. The second: Miami may want to send a message to the basketball world and come out playing with a purpose.

Nearly two months ago to the day, the Trail Blazers let a 7-point lead slip their grasp during the final two minutes at the Rose Garden. Had Bosh not been there at every opportune time with a mid-range bucket (9-17), the outcome may have been different. If PDX can find a way to shut down one of the Big 3 and force Miami's role players to beat them, the odds of a Blazer win skyrocket. LA needs to play like the superstar he is and watch for Andre Miller to be the X-Factor. Chalmers, nor Bibby, can handle him the post. If we can get two guys going down low and the shooters bring their A-game, Portland walks away victorious.

I hope that Portland's lack of play today is because the are saving for this game.  Their shooting today will not beat the Heat.  Gerald Wallace, Batum, and Wesley NEED to bring their A-game on offense and especially defense.  Don't worry about LeBron, just guard Wade and hold him under 20.  LMA NEEDS to dominate the matchup like he did last time.

Roy and Wallace should have the starting jobs tomorrow night.  Roy has never been good coming off the bench, and Wallace is likely going to have to play heavy minutes.  He was a MAJOR reason the Bobcats were able to beat Cleveland and Miami this/last season.

I couldn't vote because really, we need everything and everyone to be firing on all cylinders. The Heat ended their last game in tears, they have lost 5 or 6 games of the 11 straight .500+ record teams. They have something to prove and sadly, as we got them last game, they are coming off some terrible games.

We can win this though... Gerald should start and his defense will be crucial against Lebron. Wes will be playing tough D on Wade while passing it off to Rudy & Patty to get much needed 3s. Camby needs 6 pts & 18 rebounds. Aldridge needs a 30 & 13 night. Miller with around 12, and Roy with 8 much needed points.

It won't be easy but we either kick them while their down or let them shake off the bad vibes and dominate. Let's keep them down.

LA will have to take his talents to South Beach tonight, if the Blazers are to have a chance, returning to his February form.  The high percentage looks LA brings have a stabilizing effect on Portland's otherwise unstable offense.  His play will be key.

As mentioned above, the Blazers will need defensive contributions from Wallace, Nic, and Wesley.  Look for Marcus to have an effect in the middle defensively as well.  I believe that GW will be a starter by the end of this road trip...and it may be tonight that it happens.

Portland is most certainly going to get Miami's best tonight, so they had better bring theirs.

With a W tonight, the Blazers would put themselves into a tie for 5th with Denver, who is idle until Thursday when they play the Suns IN Phoenix.  OKC also dropped their game last night to a hungry Memphis team, narrowing the gap between they and Portland to just 3 1/2 games.  Portland plays Charlotte Friday and will be favored.  Their could be significant movement in the Western Conference this week.  Certainly, there is opportunity.

Heat are struggling right now.....big time!
Bron and Wade have and are able to hold their own all season, Bosh as well...on a good day, it is the role players and bench assets of this team that are letting them down.
if i was portland i wouldnt worry any more than normal about Wade and Bron, i would put my extra effort to playing Miller, Chalmers, Arroyo, Jones, the secondary players, focus more on D with them.
Shut them down, and it will force Bron and Wade to lose their 6.7. assists per game, and together thats a good 20+ points.

like i said, keep the other players out of the game.
Bron and wade, 70 pts, 17 rbds, 15 ass combined, but the rest of the team had about 37 pts.
very clutch on that, that will get under brons skin for sure, the second time...well they are on 4+ L streak, so not the second time but it will stick with him.
just dont consider yourself to be so lucky if there is a next time, hahaha, my boy is comin at you hard next game.
i feel the blazer train picking up steam again, with aldridge at conducter.....

So glad we got Crash. He does all of the little things needed to win big games like this. His defense is top-notch, he slashes, can lead the break, and can even hit the long-range shot from time to time. He and Roy were the difference makers off the bench tonight.

From start to finish, the best ball and player movement I have seen from this team all season.  That type of movement leads to better shot selection and a higher FG%.  Roy made a HUGE difference off the bench, providing that consistent, efficient scorer that has been noteably absent.  GW is just doing what he was brought here to do, play his game.  Though he didn't start, he logged 35 well deserved minutes.  Miller is grossly underrated.  I can't think of a PG I would rather have the ball, on the road in a hostile environment, with the basketball world watching.  His decision making is second to NONE.  Great team win, and something to build from moving forward.

What a team effort!  That game was a joy to watch!  Easily one of the best Blazers performances that I have seen in the last 10 years.  Now lets see a little consistency and play like that in Charlotte and Atlanta! There are a lot of tough games coming down the stretch and the Blazers need to bring that level of play every night!

Haven't seen anyone talk about it yet, so I gotta bring it up here, anyone know more about why Andre was taunting at the end, and who it was toward? I heard he was clapping like that at lebron, but idk.
Great game, as much as I dislike kobe, this proves he and D-rose are far more valuable than lebron to their teams, because when they see defiencies in their game or their team, they spend their summer's getting themselves better, instead of acting like a glorified playboy. Maybe lebron will take a page out of their respective books and hire someone to work on his post game during the lockout.
