Aldridge Named Player Of The Month

    Congrats LA! He wasn't an All-Star but this is still a very prestigious honor. He helped lead the Blazers to an 8-4 record in the month of February, without the services of Brandon Roy and Marcus Camby, including setting and re-setting career highs in consecutive home games against the Spurs (40 points) and Bulls (42 points). For the month, he averaged 42 minutes, 27.8 points, on 56.3% shooting, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.7 blocks.

    WTG, LA!!! You ARE an all-star in my book already! Any other LA fans out there from LA?? ;-)
    I am a fan of EVERY Blazer because they all fight hard and all have talent. I especially love Aldridge, Lillard, Batum, Matthews, Hickson and Meyers.

    Great job Lamarcus!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it going!!!! I love watching Lamarcus play now!!! What a huge difference from every other year. Maybe he should even win most improved player.

    No All-Star nod, but he'll pick up every other kind of player award the NBA has. Player of the Week x2, Player of the Month, in the running for most improved player, employee of the year, etc. etc.

    Ironic he gets it the month he was snubbed.  I think this is the NBA apologizing for being so greedy, and Stern realizing that Love isn't All-Star material and more of a stat padder.

    Congrats to LaMarcus.  Well deserved.  Now let's keep it up and get to the playoffs and beat some teams.

    Big congrats to LA!  Definitely nice to see him playing like the guy we always thought he could be.  I see him just continuing to improve from here, though things are getting a little tougher for him as he is starting to garner more respect from the other teams.

    I hope this honor will make up for not getting the All-star....hey it was chosen from a smaller pool or even more talent than league wide, so in a way it is better.....
    If your ever in Toledo, OR LA stop in for a cup of coffee at the Toledo Coffee Depot...on me!

    This in no way makes up for the AS snub! But it is still well deserved!! It sucks because next year, instead of saying two time All Star, they will be saying first time All Star, and no one will be saying WCPOTM for Feb 2011!!!

    That was absolutely a ridiculous snub for sure though. Lamarcus helped us to a much better record than both Love and Griffin. Love's team is dead last in the West!!! Stern is an idiot. I can't argue about Duncan, because they have the best record in the entire league, and I think without him they wouldn't have achieved that even though his numbers aren't as impressive as Lamarcus'.

    What a great honor! Only 2 other Blazers received this honor! But who remembers that it was Kelvin Ransey who was the first Blazer to win the honor? An All-Star is an All-Star forever more! The handle of All-Star Lamarcus Aldridge is much more important than a player of the month, even though there are only 6 months in the regular season! ? Does anyone realize that "Marshmello" Anthony would've won the award if he hadn't switched to the East. His numbers were better than LA's----good for LA! So proud of you! Also, he won 2 player of the week awards--were they in Feb.? Go Blazers!!!!

    I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
