Preview: Portland Searches For Rhythm In Sacramento
The Kings haven't found much success either, losing 10 out of their last 13 games. Sacramento, however, is coming off a 105-99 victory against the LosAngeles Clippers on Monday night, when the Kings held a 59-49 rebounding advantage and hit 47.5 percent of their attempts to claim a win.

After getting taken to the shed in their previous two home games, the Trail Blazers will take their show on the road for a pit stop in Sacramento before returning home on Saturday. Both teams split the first two games of the season series with each team winning on the others' home floor. It was the Blazers, back on January 19th, winning 94-90 in overtime and the Kings stunning Portland, 96-81, just five days later in the Rose Garden.

If you're patient, work the ball around, and take quality shots, the Kings won't put up much of a fight. They are 10th in points allowed at 103 and their opponents shoot a sky-high 48% from the field, 4th highest in the League. Sacramento also isn't very potent on offense, especially from downtown as they are the second worst three-point shooting team at 33%. If I were Portland, I'd crash the glass and pack the middle of the paint and force the Kings to beat me from the perimeter. Long jumpshots lead to long rebounds and fast break. Rebound the ball and Portland could have a field day in the open court.

The last two games... we have NOT done what has worked for us so well the last couple months.  LA hasn't been LA and the ball movement has disappeared... but what do you expect with Roy back.

Without Roy in the lineup tonight we need to get that ball movement back.  Once again show him what this team can do when they play their style of basketball, not his. No more ISO!

Crash can get us some fast break points but we need to finish, and damnit, quit missing layups!  I've never seen the Blazers miss so many layups!

LA definitely needs to get his swagger back.  But the rest of the team can't just stand around all the time and watch... and wait to jack up a three.  If he gets double-teamed, cut to the rim!  Hopefully if Rudy is back in the lineup it will help open it up for LA, but LA needs to take charge.

people need to realize we can not just rely on one great player. we need everyone to work hard and have a good night! go out there work as a team! if we are going to get out of this slump they need to work together and have some fun. like Nate said on his media row report on blazersedge. he did not see people having fun.

Well, I have  a few things to say. First one must really congratulate the Hawks and Rockets for doing their home work. They looked at what our strongest asset is (LA) and they adjusted the double team perfectley on him. As soon as LA put the ball on the floor, the second man is coming for the double and then rotating back perfectly on the pass out. The Rockets had it perfected last night and shut down our inside game. And what makes matters even worse is when our outside jumpers are clanking off the rim and we are bombing up three pointers all night and in some case it seems like every shot was a three for a bit there!!! I don't know how good Wallace may be at posting up be we need someone else that can also. My question also is, why are we not using Camby better offensively??? Geez, the only time he touches the ball is when he comes out to the top of the key and then looks for someone coming off a screen. We need him to use his skills down low and become not only a passer but a threat to score.

Also, our offense has slowed down again. Sad to say but true. We looked like we have played in slow motion the last THREE games if ya think about it (We all know the Denver win should have been a loss) and the ball movement has stopped as well. What we have now is someone dribbling the ball to try to get a shot and then passing it when there is only 2-3 seconds left on the shot clock and we all know what that leads to...bad possestion and a violation which equals the same as a turnover. They need to run the plays in the half court and push the ball up court to keep the defence from getting into position on rebounds and steals.

Now onto the rebounding...OMG!!! Seems like the opposing team has an offensive board for every miss these days. Why? Because as soon as a shot goes up the whole team crashes to the hoop. Last night when the Blazers would shoot there would be no white jerseys any where near the basket...it was awful to watch. The only guy that really tries is Camby and he isn't even rebounding but rather just tapping the ball out in hopes that we get it back! Blazers...get back to being aggresive on the boards and limit those second chance points for the opposition.

Bright spots: 1) Patty Mills - I really love the energy he brings into the games and I mean every time! He comes in and is aggressive offensively and he is a pest on the defensive end also. 2) Gerald Wallace - This guy has shown in two games that he gives it 100% out on the floor AND that he can score and is willing to sacrifice his body on defence. I sure hope they call a few plays for him now as well and once he learns the system he is going to be a huge part of this team for years to come.

Overall, I think the kinks will work themselves out but we need to play hard tonight and get this win so we mentally can move forward. Chemistry is a HUGE thing in the NBA and the great thing about this team is that they all like each other and get along off the court. It should not take too long for it to carry back out onto the court and hopefully Nate can get his rotations down to where we are successful heading into the playoffs.

    peace out,
    daddy

Kings had a high percentage shooting game against the Clippers and won.

I hope we can contest every shot, as they just hit a little over 50%FG in the first Q.
Trailblazers hitting a tad over 42%

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
