Anybody who thought they would roll over and disappear, might want to get some ketchup and eat those words.  We played extremely hard and got the W but they could take the division this year as easily as Portland or OKC could.

Agreed. Nuggets are a better team without Carmelo.

If Gallo plays the way he's been playing past 3 games then yes Denver is more dangerous. I'm not ready to say they are a GREAT team yet, but they certainly have the right pieces to be.

they lose a lot with Melo gone, but now they also are a more unnpredictable team since they have so many options they can go to.  I still wouldnt say they are better, esspecially since they had to give up Chauncey too, but they arent a bad team and in some ways are improved from when Melo was there

Denver is now multi-dimentional instead of Carmelo and some support.  They are going to be good.

Utah is a question mark at this point but I believe they will also come around and be good.

Portland is going to be very flexible and dangerous with players with multiple talents.  Watch out if and when everyone gets healthy.

Oklahoma City now has a force in the middle so they will be tough.

I think we will have some great competitive games ahead of us.

Melo is overrated.  Denver I think is playing on a lot of thrill right now, and have a chip on their shoulders, but could they keep this up for 82 games?  Doubt it.  although they should look for Afflalo to be their new star.  He has the potential to be better than Melo.

Honestly, the Knicks screwed up, and Denver won that.  The Knicks aren't going to go anywhere without a supporting cast, and Stoudamire and Melo aren't as good as they're put out to be.  The Heat had struggles, and Wade/LeBron are nearly 10x better than Melo and Stoudamire.  Denver got a lot of the strong pieces from New York, and I'd rather have Felton than Billups.

Big props to Denver.  But I won't eat my words.  They would fall in the standings and drop hard if New York wasn't so stupid.  I will admit that I'm surprised and I was wrong to instantly count them out.

Melo is only overrated to you because you care alot about defense.
Its easy to see that Carmelo can score the easiest in the league. he has on offensive caliber of weapons that is more deadly than the next two best offensive players combined.

how can you even say that? when you and i, and everyone else who has watched this season unfold has witnessed NY move from like 10th place to the 4th,5th best team in the east!!!

Gallanari has blossomed into a nice player as mentioned.
But this game could also just be Portland might not have been on the top of their game that day.
11 turnovers, and they didnt shoot terrible well either.... neither did denver though...
i mean i just have a hard time believing that Denver is better without its two team captains and leading scorers....in melo and billups

They're not better - unless you're reading that on Nuggets chat boards (where they do say it... over and over and over again). Remember, it wasn't just Carmello, it was Chauncey too. I'm not surprised they don't suck, they brought back some nice players. There's just no way they got better. They were just in the Western Conference Finals the year before last with Carmelo and Chauncey. The win over Boston was nice, but it was just coming off the all-star break and Boston made a move too. A lot of people think Boston messed up trading away their length and defense. Those things happen. We didn't play very well in the game we played against them when we had not one true center in the game, only had 9 players and still won. Portland should have lost that game by 30. There is no question Portland jumped them in quality. Before the trade they were better than us, now they're not. Just let a few games happen and everybody settle into their new homes and we will start to pull away. I predict they will be a .500 team (maybe slightly over). If they really did improve, it will be the first time that a team has ever been forced to move a 'superstar' and had it work out in their favor. Give it some time.

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.

Sug81 I love Iggy but this team has numerous gaping holes throughout the depth chart so signing Iggy is not the best way to spend our limited funds
