Gerald Wallace has always started. Now who starts...Batum or Wallace?

That's why I don't like this trade, we have an abundance of starting caliber guards!  We don't have room for Wallace in our scheme in my opinion, but if Mcmillan makes it work, hey fine by me.  I liked our starting forwards/guards.  Only thing that could've used improvement was center and pointguard.

Wallace is an NBA, first team all defensive player.  Batum is not.  Wallace is an All Star.  Batum is not.  Do you really wonder who the starter should be?

I think it's going to be Wallace. As stellar as Batum is, he has the tendency to be inconsistent if played for longer minutes. However, even if Batum's going to be the 6th man, he'll still get a lot of minutes. I just hope that Batum gets infected by the work ethic of Wallace. It would be epic to see a hard-nosed defender who can shoot.

It will and should be Wallace. Don't forget that Batum was okay coming off the bench earlier this season and seemed more comfortable in doing so. Along with Wesley and Rudy in the 2nd unit, they could really provide an offensive spark if our starters are having a tough shooting night.
I am a fan of having a completely healthy team for once.

It has to be Wallace that starts, he is an All-Star!  The only way I see him coming off the bench is if Nate plans to use him as our No.1 scoring option off the bench...  he would be our version of Atlanta's Jamal Crawford.  This also adds competition and aggressiveness between Nic and Gerald; that can only help!  I like it.

Wesley coming off the bench?  I think he is our starter for the rest of the year, Roy is his backup

Obviously Wallace won't start tonight, but he will as soon as they think he's ready. No doubt.
Brandon is going to start on this team when he's ready too - like it or not. His minutes will probably be shortened and monitored, but he's going to start at some point this season. He's an all-star. He looked pretty good all things considered against the lakers.
Because of the versatility of Wallace, there are still lineups that could get Matthews starts, but who knows. Batum will be a bench player when everyone else is back and ready.
I don't really care who starts anyway. The fact that there's discussion about it shows that our bench got stronger. That's a good thing.
    That's what I think anyway

    Well said.
    Starters:
    Pg-Miller
    Sg-Roy
    Sf-Wallace
    Pf-Aldridge
    C-Camby

Our bench? Well rotation, no one is a back up to anyone because of the versatility we have now. You can have Wallace be your 4, have point guard by committee between Roy, Rudy and Matthews. Batum be your 3 or 4. This team is getting scary to think about. Hell Babbit might actually get 5 minutes here and there.

@ Bertram - that's the eventual lineup for sure. The cool thing is Nate might even change it night to night based on matchups. Look at the offense AND defense though. Whew! That front court can lock up the paint and they can all rebound. All 5 of those guys are a threat to score too. Still leaves some good offensive punch and perimeter defense with Matthews, Batum, and Rudy off the bench. It may take a few weeks, but this team is going to be tough to beat.

That's what is the most scary about this team, defensively this team is going to be extremely hard to score on. Nate finally gets what he's been yearning for, a team that can play a full game of defense.

Anyone forgetting that we have no center?   Even when Camby comes back, we have no back-up center.  Currently we're no match for a big team - like the Nuggets tonight.   Happy to get Wallace, but I think we paid too big a price in the short term.

Seeing as how Camby is injured or is coming off his injury......and we have been blowing through teams without him i think that there is only one solution is that fits theses accomodations.

    Dre -mills
    Matthews - Rudy
    Batum - wallace - babbit
    Wallace - Aldridge - babbit
    Aldridge - Camby - Wallace
I could be mistaked but i swear wallace has played center alot before. he is like those 6'9 guys that play center...like haslem or chuck hayes(who is just horrible) but haslem is my point. he is a beast. wallace is a beast....that fool gets mean down there.
i think it just could work.
but get someone on deck for the backup C. maybe d league or free agent

Okay, I''ll admit it, I like Asik better. I definitely think they will both have very good careers. And finally, someone who agrees, that Ibaka is a  shot blocker, not really a great defender.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
