What does Portland need to do to start another streak over LA?
    Limit LA's 2nd chance points (16)
     42%
Dominant points in the paint (14)
     37%
Live at the FT Line (20+ attempts) (1)
     3%
Monster night from LA (25 pts, 10 rebs, 5 assts) (6)
     16%
Contain Odom (Usually as he goes, the Lakers go) (1)
     3%

When the Blazers and Lakers meet Wednesday night, it will be a tale of two teams going in two entirely different directions. Who would have thought it would be Portland ascending while L.A. is free-falling? Heading into the break, the Lakers have lost three straight games and must play the Hawks tonight at home then fly into the Rose City to take on the Blazers in the Rose Garden, a place that hasn't been very kind to them in recent years. Portland had won nine in a row at the RG until L.A. finally broke through last season.

But Portland will look to start a new home winning streak over Los Angeles and to do so, they must continue to play though LaMarcus Aldridge, get the crowd involved and rebound. Gasol is a great all-around talent, but he is not known for his defensive prowess and LA should be able to force his way deep into the paint and rack up easy buckets. If the Blazers' marksmen, Fernandez, Mills, Batum & Matthews, are on target from downtown, it could be another long night for the Lakers in the RG. But the key to the game will be Brandon Roy and if he plays. If he does, how will the team respond? Will it be a great emotional boost or will it just disrupt chemistry?

I vote :Dominant points in the paint because when Bryant misses his shoots Bynum and Gasol can rebound and they are strong in this job but When we win this battle and someone (maybe Rudy) give spark from bench  We can win, and something else , I don't think that Roy should return in this match, even if he is feeling very good He should wait for anonther opponent .

    GO BLAZERS !!!  -   BEAT LA !!!

It'll be Game 4 all over again.  Roy will return, play 5 minutes or so, and the Blazers' will use that to win.

Camby is doubtful, which sucks because we need a big man against Bynum.

    Dominate the paint LA!

We need to play fast on offense and not let them set their defense.

Here's the latest injury update via our PR-
Brandon Roy has been upgraded to probable and Marcus Camby's status remains unchanged (out) for tonight's game vs. the L.A. Lakers.

Sean Marks (left ring finger) is probable for tonight.

I hope and pray that B Roy's return will be an emotional boost for the team. But I fear that with him back, the chemistry we have build without him will disappear. He is a strong personality. Hence why Roy and Andre always butt heads. So let's hope this time off has given him new perspective and allows him to become more of a team player. A role player. Let LA be the star he is destined to be. It's his time. So please Brandon, take a back seat and watch LA rise!

The advantage Portland has enjoyed over LA in recent past has had alot to do with the Blazers athleticism and length.  Tonight will be a struggle, with Aldridge being our only healthy big.  Some of the length HAS come from Nic as well, who will play a pivotal role tonight if the Blazers are to win.  Roy coming back ensures focus and energy.  Dominate the paint.  GO BLAZERS!

Aldridge tries backing it in down low against Gasol, and starts to go on vacations with how many steps he took.....refs call foul on gasol... no crowd reaction

Kobe gets double teamed by WM and Aldridge, starts to slip up and the crowd starting throwing MONEY at the officials to get them to make a call.

And you got Wesley throwing up 3 goggles for Free Throws, Layups....timeouts.....

But man are they doin the lake show dirty.
Extra hustle by the Blazers is for sure puttin them away, the Lakers are moping up and down the court maybe Kobe shoulda let Bron get that MvP? huh?
but if they come back in the 4th and win, i am going to laugh, not because of any reason other than " how did you expect them to win? thats their spiel, the 4th"

DC shoulda been in there busting up the Laker double team on Lamarcus. Quit playing Batum at Center coach, you're gonna get him hurt.

87-80 Portland, with 4:00 remaining...and not another FG.  The team looked scared, the only player wanting the ball couldn't get it, LA.  The clock management was rediculous.  Very simply, the Blazers began playing "not to lose", instead of continuing to attack, and "playing to win".  THAT was the difference tonight.  That said, not sure the Lakers would have been any different, were it not for Mamba 24.  What a difference a player like Wallace would have made in this game...a guy that can put the ball on the floor and break down the defense with the bounce.  That used to be Roy.  Roy is now no longer able to be that player.  This team is made up of alot of spot up shooters reliant upon movement and ball reversals...and LA.  Too many 3's tonight and not enough of them went in.

Aldridge had 29 going into the 4th, and finished regulation with that same number.  That is a problem as well.

On a related note...Rich Cho was in his courtside seat tonight for the entire game, suggesting that there may indeed be some merit to the rumor circulating that the Blazers are no longer actively pursuing anything.  Unfortunate really.  NO improved with the addition of Carl Landry, a player whose skill set helps to round out their roster nicely.  They will now be tough to kick out of the 5 spot, meaning Portland will more than likely finish 6th and draw the Lakers.  That is, if Portland stands pat.  UNFORTUNATE.

We only have ourselves to blame when we fail to get the ball into the hands of our superstar who wasn't missing anything at all last night. He got some "ok" looks in the final seconds, but if LA was hell bent on double teaming him, I would have liked to seen more pick and pop as LA didn't miss a single mid-range shot all game long or fed him the rock in the post and sent cutters down the middle of the lane ala the NO game. Man, we gave them that game. Too many missed open 3's and some silly tunovers doomed us in the 4th and you just can't make those type of mistakes against a team of LA's caliber.

the blazers had this game signed sealed and delivered, but the package must of had anthrax in it bcuz Fed Ex threw that ish out the window.
I was able to watch the entire game, while doing HW, but  dont i think i didnt see a couple of plays that cost this team the game.

One big play, i think it was a Dre to Rudy Oop? That just crashed and burned and led into a turnover.

The second big one, the lazy pass to Aldridge i think by Dre, in which Kobe intercepted and started to plan his fatality.

I dont understand how a 13 year vet in Dre, can give the ball up like that, at such a crucial point in the game. Why?
The Crowd was pumped! It was Black and White and RED all over! And then these two plays totally cost them the 4th qtr.....the game.

The last bit that i am waiting for someone to explain is why my homie Aldridge is Getting the ball at the top of the Key with 4.4 seconds left, and attempts to drive to the lane with 3 Lakers on him....for the win? No.
Pop it out to one of those 3 Goggled up homies and take that game in dramatic fashion.
That could probably the 3rd mistake that cost them the game.
It was to say the least, inexcusable....very disapointed.
