    We are a jump shooting team. Not enough easy buckets. Thats why Chicago lost to Boston. We will not win in the play offs as long as this continues... How do we fix it?

    Well, who are the players that shoot the most jump shots that could have a better inside game with easier points int he paint. Lamarcus and Travis. I belive Lamarcus will develop and learn how to get easier buckets but Travis has been told to do this for like 6 years? and hes only gotten worse! So what to do with Travis? Use him in a deal for a more defensive player that can score easier buckets.

    Also, people say Oden doesn't have to score to be effective. Maybe not, but we would be a hell of a lot better team if he could! That will be the biggest change. Oden developing inthe off season and actually gaining some offensive moves. Oden has to be the most improved player on this team next year for us to go deep in the play offs.

    The Blazers need to scrap the high screen and roll. How much damage can Joel and Greg do when they're out past the 3 point line? After the pick, the Blazer big guys are supposed to lumber towards the hoop, and try not to get hit in the back of the head with a pass. The high screen and roll works better for Lamarcus obviously, because he's a ringer. Aldridge doesn't have to get to the rack for buckets.
    What I'd like to see more of, is posting up Brandon Roy. He's got the upper hand on almost any guard near the basket. Then you'd have Oden, Przybilla and Lamarcus, diving to the hoop from the weak side for some thunderous jams! The Blazers hopefully will learn, that when your man leaves you to mug Roy, Lamarcus or Oden, GO TO THE BASKET. But don't run down the lane wavin' your arms in the air saying "somebody guard me". You have to be sneaky, like a Ninja. Just present one hand, like a baseball mit, so your pitcher can throw a strike.
    Standing around waiting for somebody to pass the ball, so you can launch a 25 footer that probably will miss, is a big problem for the Blazer's offense right now. I'd say, keep the Rudy/Roy quick alley-oop plays, and the 6 men on the court inbound play....and that's it. Burn the rest of the playbook.

    I think one of our biggest problems has been the high screen and roll, but not for the reason you said. The problem with the high screen and roll is that Greg and Joel don't always roll. When they have, you see those great putback dunks. Unfortunately, that hasn't been happening. That is how LA won all those championships. Kobe would drive to the hoop and shoot it, if he missed it, Shaq would rebound and dunk. When the defense would adjust, Fischer or Horry would drain a 3 to keep the defense honest. We just need our guys to be more agressive on the boards. None of our players, pg-sf, follow their own shots. Rudy is really the only one who does. Now, to his credit, Blake did on Game 5, but we need Batum, Bayless, Roy, and Outlaw to follow those as well. That rolling to the hoop off any drive is critical. Now the LaMarcas pick and pop has been pretty effective, but it would be more effective when used in conjunction with the pick and roll because then the defense doesn't know which you are going to use. If you have both, use them both to keep the defense on their heels. LA can get past other PF to make the pick and roll effective. He can also hit the jumper if the defense backs up to clog the lane. If all you do is pop though, then the defense never moves back and you're shooting contested jumpers all day. I actually would like to see Roy and Outlaw run those together. Playing TO at the PF and having him and Roy mix up the pick & roll and the pick & pop could be a deadly mix.

    The reason why we the big guys never got any great put-back dunks, is because Yao Ming is HUGE! I saw them try the play you're referring to, and Yao messed it up every time. During the Rockets series, the lineup that I saw Nate effectively use once, but didn't see him go back to it was;
    pg-B-Roy
    sg-Rudy
    sf-Batum
    pf-Lamarcus
    c-Joel or Greg
    Actually, I didn't see Batum much at all in the playoffs, what's up wit dat?

    All you suggestion are good and need to be worked on. I personally would like to see the Blazers play there game more often. We had a few games this year were the guys just played had fun and were confident. They pushed the tempo and made the other team adjust instead of the other way around. This is gonna be hard for a younger team but will do wonders for us. We spent the playoffs countering there game instead of making them counter ours. There are a lot of issue's with any team and they will get worked out in time I would like to see this one put in in pre-season. I think it will because they have that playoff notch on there belts and should be hungry. I am also expecting and night and day change in Oden over the summer and Bayless and Batum and Rudy 2nd year is always suppose to be better so very excited. Blazers 2010

    They has a specialist come in 2008 and say flat out that Oden and Roy were going to have knee issues. If you know the knees are going to be a potential issue then as a training staff you need to work on strengthening that area, healing it and help...

    Maybe we should go for Pekovic as a restricted free agent and see what Minn will do.

    Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
