    Via hoopshype-
If the Warriors can't find their coveted center upgrade at the trade deadline or in the draft, they would consider injury risks Greg Oden or Yao Ming at a discounted rate in the offseason. "When you're looking at what you can do to get better, you have to consider the possibility of what an injured player today might be able to do when he returns," said general manager Larry Riley, who can't name players under contract with other teams. "A lot has been done down that road, and more will be done."

Looks like there will be some teams willing to sign Oden and take the risk. IMO, I think this means we will for sure be offering him the qualifying offer once the season is over.

there is no doubt we wont pick up the offer.  If he comes back healthy he is easily a 12 and 10 guy.  there is no way we can let a team like golden state or OKC take him

I'm pretty sure we would do about anything to stop him from going to OKC

I'm sure there will be offers. Still, i wonder how out of line they could be for a guy thats only played 82 games over 4 years. Sure, someone will take a risk, but I think the Blazers will match and the price will be right. It just depends on how much allen and cho want to gamble or if they've already formed their opinions about him. my guess is we'll over pay a little bit, but we'll get him signed for a short extension. what is yao's status? is he restricted or no?

the only thing is that OKC still has a lot of CAP space and can make him a really nice offer

No news here.  GO when healthy, is among the most dominant figures in the league, especially at his position.  He will continue to have value, particularly in the current landscape, with such a premium on quality big men.  He's a Blazer for the foreseeable future.

If I were a betting man (and I'm not), I would wager that no less than a half a dozen teams have inquired about Oden.  Cho's message was likely the same to all, including Golden State.  You can look...but you can't touch!

Maybe we should go for Pekovic as a restricted free agent and see what Minn will do.

Almost every reporter has done that with his name. It''s not even that tough. It was 2:30 in the morning,  Damian  didn''t exactly look sober, my guess was his entourage wasn''t either. Not his fault. He should have tried to stop them thou...

Time will tell. As it is well known round these parts, I do not have much hope for athletic big men. (JJ Hickson doesn''t count).

Okay, I''ll admit it, I like Asik better. I definitely think they will both have very good careers. And finally, someone who agrees, that Ibaka is a  shot blocker, not really a great defender.

Magic have a center and tons of young talent, extra picks and a future with a lot of cap space so yah the MAGIC.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
