I have 4 reasons we are going to beat the Lakers on Wednesday.
1)The Lakers play against the Hawks on Tuesday(they play us on the 2nd night of a back to back)
2)We have a really good home record against the Lakers
3)Roy and Camby are coming back and it's really going to energize the crowd.
4)The Lakers seem to be slumping(They've lost their last three games)
I am a fan of Lamarcus Aldridge, the 2011-2012 MVP

I actually think the Lakers are going to give us a reality check.

First off, earlier in the season, when we played the Lakers, we got destroyed. Literally, it was such a beat down. Why? Phil Jackson was prepared for the game and told his crew that Portland has been giving us trouble and guess what? Kobe and the Lakers handed it to us. Especially Pau, he was flawless that night. Keep in mind, Lakers are going to be a fresh team when we play them and Phil is going to have them ready and remind them how dangerous Portland is to them. In addition to that point, Lakers have lost 3 in a row. When was the last time Lakers lost 4 in a row?

To counter a couple of your points, Roy and Camby might not return, I could be wrong but the last update I remember was Nate would assess the players on a day to day basis. Also keep in mind that Broy hasn't played a lot recently (obviously) so his conditioning will be a huge downgrade from what we've seen. Even if we see Roy, his minutes will be limited and his productivity will be minimal until he gets his legs back.

Let me address your point about Lakers playing back to back. November 2nd and 3rd. The first time when the Lakers had their back to back in the 2010 ~ 2011 season and beat Memphis by 19 points and beat Sacramento by 12. How about their second back to back? November 16th and 17th, same outcome, both were away games also. Milwuakee, beat them by 11 and Detroit, beat them by 13. Their third back to back? Winning by 7 and 1 on those two. Their fourth back to back? Winning by 14 and 15. And their number 5 back to back? Losing to SA but beating New Orleans.Sixth back to back? Winning by 25 one night and 4 the next night. Seventh back to back? Beating Cleveland by 57 points (no typo) and taking care of Golden State. I could go on and on from previous seasons as well. My point is obvious, Lakers shine when they're playing back to back games; home or away, it does not matter.

As mentioned, I don't think your fourth point is a reason why the Blazers will win, I think it is a reason why the Blazers will lose.

I have the Blazers to lose 109-100.

It's raining.  That should be your only reasons.

Tiki, somehow I think you're also a Laker fan, as you only gave reasons why the Blazers would win while addressing the OP's lack of good reasons.

The Blazers are rolling, and no one wants to lose to the Lakers who has anything to do with the Blazers.  This isn't a game the team will sleep on, believe me.  The Lakers may be on a 4 game win streak, but what was the last win streak the Blazers have been on that's been worth mentioning?  The 13 game win streak 3 years ago?  We're on a 6 game win streak, I'm sure the players will come out rolling.

I also think our last loss to the Lakers this season was at the worse time possible.  The team just got back from hearing devastating news, and the schedule eventually caught up to them.  They had the hardest starting schedule in the league.  It wasn't the typical Blazers we were watching when the Lakers crushed them.

The crowd also gets very hostile during these meetings.  Anyone that's met a Laker fan knows they're the definition of the insult "douche bag".  Lots of them come up here when the Lakers visit Oregon.  It won't just be the crowd trying to get the Blazers into the game, it'll be the crowd trying to yell out the Laker fans.  A few years ago in which Rudy was hospitalized, Trevor Ariza was ejected simply because things weren't going to remain civil with the crowd if he remained on the court.  His actions did not warrant a flagrant foul 2, but rather a flagrant foul 1.  Rudy just landed awkwardly, so the crowd went haywire (along with the "brawl" afterwards).

All I can say is that the Blazers are going to be in extra gear with the loudest arena in the world backing them up.  I have Blazers winning.

We know the L*kers has been stinking up the place, but we don't know why. There is strange things going on in LA, what may it be? are they just sleep walking until after the All-Star break? Are they so full of themselves that they figure they only have to play one-third of the year and pour it on and win it all? Or is there something else that is stinking up the place?

I know one thing, regardless of what the reason might be, I wouldn't take the L*kers lightly, they have to much talent to think they are has beens.

I just hope Portland can win. I hope no one else gets hurt. and I hope BRoy plays, not because I expect a lot from him, but because him stepping onto the court will make the crowd go crazy and that would perk up the team all by itself.

My prediction is The Blazers 109, the L*kers 100 LOL.

    1) It is not a matter of Blazers sleeping on games, it is a matter of Lakers waking up
    2) I'm a Blazer fan and hate the Lakers. And yes, I went to the Rose Garden during the 2000 ~ 2001 season when Rose Garden let people watch the game when it was at LA on the big TV (that was awesome).

Blazers going to lose. LA is going to have a quiet night, Roy won't return and Lakers will have amazing ball movement.

Not all Blazer fans have to be blind with love. Some fans can use knowledge, history and probability. By your logic, you think Blazers should go 82-0 every season. I'm a Blazer fan and I'm not ashamed to feel when my team is up against the wall and could face defeat.

    Tiki Kienle:

We do have the hope of winning 82 games. We are not blinded by the fact that we are underdogs, but we do hope and cheer for the Blazers to win every game. If not why even play them, just stay home and let the players rest and just play the games we are supposed to win. According to you we will win all the games we are supposed to win and lose all the games we are supposed to lose. We can all admit in every game that we could be defeated because unless you have an inside track of the lakers games being fixed that many of thinks are. you have no more knowledge then we do. History doesn't count, because both teams in a different year with different set of problems. The history shows that the L*kers and the Celtics are the two winningness teams in the NBA championship, so Miami, Orlando, OKC, and SAS might as well just concede to the trend of history. Probability of flipping a coin and it ending up heads is just a probability. True the best team usually wins, but the probability of them always winning is 0.

Our opinions are not fact, your opinions are not fact therefore can be debated, but once the opinions are presented the debate is over. to carry it on is just being argumentative.

My opinion is that with the way the L*kers has been playing and the way the Blazers have been playing and it is in our house where opponents doesn't get automatic wins, we have a great chance of winning and all your arguments will not change my opinion.

Well said Hg couldn't have said it better myself. Also last year the Blazers won the season series 2-1. I have two reasons the Blazers are going to win.

    1. Aldridge
    2. Because that's how we get down in Rip City

This will be a battle because if you pay close attention to the games, LMA has the most trouble when being guarded by length which Lakers have.  Bynum will give LMA some trouble, ending him in high 20's low 30's if he is guarding him.  LMA can easily drop 40 on Gasol however

hahaha, i can do you one better than aldridge, No Wait! TWO better, Bynum and Gasol.
    hahahah.
It could go either way the lakers morale could be a little down because they are getting alot of bad press over that Cavs loss....which was horrific.
But Roy and camby are coming back, that could go either way, its not a guaranteed boost for team.
Also there is Odom, who has for lack of better words, been killin it. So his force off the bench is going to help out quite a bit, i would like to see if this fool Dante has it in him for another 15+ points

Anyone that's met a Laker fan knows they're the definition of the insult "douche bag
honestly if this was said about a blazer fan it would of been edited, so really WTH is this kinda of stuff. Someone needs to edit this.......
Like Really Herr, you can go to ___, i dont get where you think you are some saint who lives up in a perfect little state that no knows about.
That was such a rude thing to say, and very revealing at the same time. Obviously you are just as idealistic and and crude as some of the fans i know so i dont think you can really point the finger.

and there is nothing wrong with an argument, if you know how to have one......

I've come up with the crazy superstition, the Lakers come to play in Portland if it's raining or cloudy we win, if it's sunny we lose. Last season the Lakers actually beat us at home, why? Well other than Kobe and Roy not playing it was sunny.

    So make it rain!

    5)The Blazers are hot
    6)The Lakers are not
    7)The Blazers are hot
    8)The Lakers are not
    9)The Blazers are sizzling hot

the trevor areiza foul on rudy was a dangerous play. not thinking before he acted. only thinking of stopping the bucket.

yes he was making a basketball play and he made a play on the ball like you're sopposed to. in an attempt to stop the bucket.

you could say it was just a F1 not an F2 but... because it was an dangerous play. i personally believe any nba player making that play on an defenceless player in the air... that could cause serious injury to a player... does warrent a F2. if you dont know what i mean by "defenceless player in the air" than go play some basketball. you'll eventually find out.

i dont believe it was rescinded by the nba either. take that as you want to.

going to be a good game i hope. i dont want the blazers to be blown out like they were last time...

loved the pass to kobe from paul on the 3 on 1 break. such a tough pass. only a few people in the world can make that one.

Thats not what i'm saying at all. I know the Blazers will lose games i just never think they will. I go into every game thinking that it will be a victory. Yes i'm angry after every lose but even the games back before Roy when they played the Pistons or Lakers or Spurs i felt they could win and i never doubted them. Saying your team WILL lose is saying you have no faith in this team. That you don't think they could win a championship in the next few seasons. Faith is what the fan base runs off and if you don't have any in your team your not to much of a fan.  Thats what i said not that the Blazers are so  good they will go undefeated!

TayC, please invite one of your Laker fans onto here.  So far, every Laker fan I've ever had a conversation with has been a douche bag.  Every Laker fan I've seen on TV has been a douche bag.  Sure, there are the occasional fans, but they need to step up.  I think 99% of the Blazer fans here say they hate the Lakers because of their fans rather than the actual team.  I know I do.
