I hear a lot of really good things in terms of how his knees are doing but honestly I don't know what to believe, I just wanted to get some other opinions on should we pick up Greg's contract of 8 mil or whatever it is and give him one more chance or just let him go? If he does come back he could still be a huge force if not a starter then off the bench which would be good...or maybe just screw up his knees again. what do you all think?

Defiantly he will be picked up. He WILL be a Blazer next year. He will be paid less money until  the team sees what he can do how well he does it.

I feel we have so much money invested in Greg Oden, we almost have to try and keep him and get lucky that his knees will be okay. How much more bad luck is our team going to have. We might just get lucky and Greg returns healthy. He was playing good the last time we could keep him on the court. I say take our chances one more time for Greg's sake. We need that big man in the middle if we are going to go far into the playoffs.

You are absolutely right. Greg Oden still has a lot of passion for the game. We need to keep him for his sake. He has had some bad luck. I also feel like the Blazers training program needs to be looked at. They are having way to much injuries to their big men then most teams.

I love the idea of frekin' Camby and Oden being in the game at the same time. I have no doubt in my mind that the combination of C and G.O would be better than that of KG and RR of the Celts. Hell, when just thinking about how deep our bench would be at center... I say offer the man a contract under 3.5 mil for a year, if his knees are in tip-top shape you can be CERTAIN that we're going to the west finals if not the championship game...

The Blazers executives made a wise choice with Oden. See if they picked up the option on his contract they would have to pay Oden close to 9 million dollars, however they didn't. Now they can offer Oden less money but tons of bonus incentive if one he can stay healthy, two if they get into the second round of the playoffs, three if he can make the all-star game and so on. Great business gamble, but gamble it is because he can just walk away.

If either side refused the $8.8 million qualifying offer, Oden becomes a restricted free agent.  Should that happens, how much Oden gets paid next season isn't really up to our management.

I dont think Bucks take on Batums contract when they have an identical player with the same contract for Sanders. Sanders and Henson seem like the only untouchables on that team

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
