    PREVIEW - Trail Blazers Hone In On Hornets
     In the last meeting on Nov. 26, New Orleans made 34-of-66 attempts and 8-of-14 beyond the arc to outscore Portland 28-15 in the second quarter for a 97-78 upset at home.
     For New Orleans, Quincy Pondexter is listed as questionable with a sprained right ankle. Emka Okafor is will no play due to a left oblique strain.
    Coming off of their first undefeated road trip of the season, the Trail Blazers will battle the Hornets for the final game before the long awaited All-Star Break. Not only does this kick off a five-game homestand for Portland, but it could be a battle for 5th place out West. With Denver's loss last night, the Blazers are now tied for 6th and are closing in quick on the Hornets. It won't be easy, as New Orleans has handled Portland quite easily twice already this year, 107-87 in N.O. in early November and 97-78 just 13 days later in the Rose Garden.

    For the Trail Blazers to come away victorious, they need to put away all thoughts of vacation that comes with the All-Star Break and focus in once more on the task at hand. Force the ball in Aldridge and see who N.O. decides to defend him. LA proved last game he was more than capable of going all Arvydas Sabonis on the Wolves by dropping dimes left and right out of the double team. Also, if the Blazers can heat up from 3 and get the raucous Rose Garden crowd fired up. The Hornets are 3rd best in the NBA in allowing points (92 per game), so if the Blazers can hit he century mark, #6 in a row could be on its way.

    For us to win they all need to be firing in order to pull off the double team on Aldridge. This isn't no under .500 team. This is someone we might meet in the playoffs. We are not going to get a win if only 2 people show up, But if Rudy gets hot that will give LA some breathing room same goes with Wes or Andre.

    I'm fairly confident we can win this game.  Hornets play Golden State tonight, and aren't playing too well (3-7 L10).  Golden State will make them run.  We just need to use the fatigue against the Hornets and play strong defense and get Aldridge the ball.  I picked Batum, we need his offense tomorrow night.

    NO dropped their game last night to the Warriors 102-89, and as Herr has said, are now losers of 8 out of their last 10.  Too much Steph Curry and not enough CP3, particularly down the stretch.  Paul being the competitor that he is, look for him to come out looking for redemption tonight.  Tonights game is now for 5th in the conference.  Simply amazing that Nate has this team playing for 5th heading into the All-Star break.  Deserving of COTY, but I for one am expecting yet another snub.  The most recent rankings don't even have McMillan in the top 12...shameful.

    As Chris Paul goes, so do the Hornets.  They don't win without Paul having a significant performance.  Show him different looks defensively, even going with Dante on him at times...given how 'the Mask' played the perimeter in Portland's last win.  Dante is my X factor, simply because I think he may be playing with more confidence now.

    I'm going to say the X-Factor for tonight is the Blazers 6th Man!! I hope the crowd rocks the RG for tonight's game.  I was at the last game against the Hornets and didn't think the crowd was as good as it could have been.  GO BLAZERS!!!

    I really thought we came out pumped, then deflated really quickly over the next 2 quarters. Over that time, we simply were outworked, outhustled and it showed. NO was doing exactly what we were doing to the Wolves the other night, running in and grabbing the rebounds while we stood there flat-footed. But in the 4th, I think Nate got through to the team and told them, 12 more minutes and a nice long break, put it all on the floor.

    We finally started to throw it into LA instead of going one-on-one and picked up the rebounding a bit in the 4th and came away victorious.
