It's been an amazing season. A bunch of youngsters overcame the odds and became the 4th seed in the NBA playoffs. I am so proud that the Blazers did what they did. I'm still disappointed that they couldnt move forward int he playoffs, but what happened, happened, and all we can do is be happy they finished the season with a +13 from last year, and that they will be strong contenders for years to come.

    Now for some interesting talk..

    1. The Trail Blazers were the ONLY west team to win more than one game before losing the series. Seeing as to how they were the most inexperienced team, i find that as a MAJOR accomplishment.

    2. I love the respect between the teams. It was a good hard fought series between both teams. No controversy, no bad blood, just good basketball.

    3. Everyone wanting a Hinrich trade.. don't hold your breath. I was one of the ones who wanted it, but as much as we "think" it would help out the team, It's not what the Blazers are looking for. The Blazers are pretty much set at the Point Guard position.

    4. Boozer is likely to be a Free Agent after this year, depending on his option choice. Is it worth it to try and pick him up? Or do we go for maybe a DeJuan Blair or someone out of the draft? If not either of those two.. then who? (we would have to make a big trade for DeJuan Blair seeing as to how he will probably be drafter before our pick.)

    5. If either Webster or Outlaw must go, Webster goes and Outlaw stays. As much as i know that will stir up some controversy between Portland fans, i just can't see Outlaw being the one to leave, UNLESS they get a good trade.

    6. Detroit seems to be willing to deal out it's big names for the right price. Billups was given up last year. Iverson and Sheed are likely to become FA this offseason. That leaves Rip and Tayshaun, could we make an offer for Prince? Or do we go for someone else?

    7. Idk if I will get any agreements, but i think it would be a good idea to try and acquire James Posey from New Orleans. He played for the Heat AND Celtics when they won the Championship. He's almost always been a part of the playoffs somehow. He's a good shooter, with excellent D. He could teach Outlaw (or Webster) or maybe even Batum depending on who we would have to give up. I see it being great.

    8. Ya'll may hate me for this, but my opinion of Ron Artest completely changed over this series. I thought he was just a troublemaker, and a wannabe thug. But i see now that he is a respectable man, and is misunderstood for the fan fight a couple years ago.

    9. How weird would it be if we got Prince or Hinrich? Prince couldnt wear #22 along with a jersey change. AWKWARD. Hinrich would need a number change also. AWKWARD. lol

Anyway, this is a long post for the Blazer fans just needing something to keep them happy after last night's loss.

Keep it in perspective guys, Portland did amazing this year. There is no reason to be upset.

Webster won't be the one leaving, Outlaw will.

PT, you know we usually agree a lot, but somehow I missed this one and I have to say I disagree with a lot of it. I don't think that it is either Outlaw or Webster. Outlaw will never be the starter in Portland. He will be the perpetual 6th man. Now, with that said, for the second unit he is not the small forward. For the second unit he is the Power Forward with Batum taking the SF spot. Travis is the 6th man at SF, but he doesn't stay there when the full second unit is in. I now think that Channing is going to sign elsewhere because it is the only choice that makes sense or him career wise. I believe that Joel Freeland will come over and pick up those garbage minutes that were given to Frye and without Ruffin and Randolph there will be more developmental minutes to give Freeland. I also think that if Pritchard plays his cards right, makes minimal movements without ruffling feathers he could be considered for executive of the year, Nate could be coach of the year, and Bayless most improved. We might even be able to have Outlaw make sixth man for the first time in three years of consideration. May I also suggest Bayless for the Dunk Contest? They could market it as KryptoNate vs. The Bay Wonder. After his final dunk the commentators could say, "Holy Slamma Jamma Batman!" or something along those lines.

well this one wasn't really an opinion based off the thread start. i was just poking into possibilities to see what people would think. but it kinda failed. lol

truth is, bringin in huge talent would be comforting, but i think Portland is the only team with a team that they should keep with what they got. I would be happy like you have been saying if they didn't change anything at all.

this was kinda just a forum to see what people thought. but yeah.

There are a lot of things to be proud of with the way this season went for this young team. That being said, the expectations will grow next season and everyone should be looking for this team to improve another notch.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
