What is the biggest key to victory?
Forcing Turnovers - Detroit only turns it over a NBA best 12 times a night (5)
     15%
Defending The 3 - The Pistons shoot an 8th best 37.7% from downtown (2)
     6%
    Score 100+ Points - The Pistons only average 94 a game (5)
     15%
    Another Monster Night From LA - 40 & 8, 37 & 10 previous two games (11)
     33%
Bench Production - At least 20 bench points (10)
     30%

PREVIEW- Portland Makes Pit Stop To Face Pistons
In its last four wins, Portland has shot better than 50 percent from the field and averaged 104 points per game. During that same timeframe, Aldridge has produced 34.75 points and 9.75 rebounds and Fernandez has come off the bench for 15.25 points on 11-for-20 shooting from beyond the arc.
Portland has taken five consecutive meetings against Detroit, including a Nov. 9 matchup, when the Trail Blazers used a season-high 36-point first quarter to jump out early, eventually cruising to a 100-78 win at the Rose Garden.

With the New Orleans Hornets losing tonight to the Bulls, only 1 games in the loss column separates 5th from 8th place. Everyone knows the Jazz are in turmoil after their legendary head coach resigned and the Nuggets could falter the moment Carmelo Anthony is dealt. Basically, the time is now for Portland. And including Sunday's game against the Pistons, the rest of the Blazers games leading up the All-Star Break should be wins for Portland.

For the Blazers to escape the Motor City with a win, they must push the tempo and think aggressively. If they can score over 100, it may be enough to stymie the offensively challenged Pistons who only average 94 points per night, 4th lowest in the NBA. Getting quality looks shouldn't be a problem as Detroit allows their opponents to shoot 48.7% from the field, the second highest allowed in the league. Another big night should be in the works for LA as the Pistons only have two legitimate bigs who play inside, rookie Greg Monroe and veteran Ben Wallace, neither holding the attributes to stop Aldridge on the blocks.

Detroit can't rebound, and one of their potty mouthed fans almost got pounded by Lebron James last night.

key word is should; they need to take better care of the ball and have the mind set of a killer instinct in order to win.

We need another monster night from LA, and we need to force turnovers. We should be able to grab this one if we play like we did against toronto!

Wesley Matthews and Nicolas Batum need to step up and show they can score as well as defend today and some 3s from Patty Cakes will seal it.

We need our bench to show up tonight. Another great performance by Rudy - and maybe a few looks from Patty - should do the trick.

Wes and Nic need to get out of this slump, bench needs to play solid, get an early lead to let the guys who dont usually play get some minutes so they can be more helpful in the future. LA needs a rest and so does the rest of the starters. Go Blazers! lets get on up in the rankings.

Matthews is in a mini slump but Nic is fine.  He's just not taking the shots.  I don't have Concast Sportstrap so I don't know if he's PASSING on shots but all other facets of his game are great.  Plus there're only so many points you can score in a game as a team.  If three guys have good production, chances are some people aren't going to put up numbers on the scoreboard.  So long as a few Blazers are producing we'll be fine.

Wesley really needs to go back to focusing on defense and let the offense come to him. If you watch him lately, you can tel he's really pressing and forcing the issue. He's been playing a little reckless and only has tunnel vision when attacking the rim. He should jut slow down and take what the defense gives him. Once he gets his shooting touch back, he should return to form.

We just need good ball movement and create decent shots.  Detroit is one of those teams people think is bad but can give any elite team some troubles.  (basically, they're like the Warriors).

Villanueva thought he was Kevin Durant for a second. Back to back airballs on transition 3's, usually guys only try that once.

Great win. LA has taken his game to a whole other level these past two road games. Before, he was simply dominating and the team was ahead most of the way. Now he is showing he can put the team on his back and carry them from a 4th quarter deficit to a win and doing so on the road.

Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
