I'm really wondering why the coaches didn't pick LMA, but picked less deserving fools.  Obviously Stern picked Love because of a PR stunt, but I find it hard to believe the coaches did not pick LaMarcus when so many have complimented him.

Honestly, I'm starting to think LMA made it by coaches decision, but the NBA wanted Griffin in it so they took his spot.  It's way more viewers if Griffy is in it.  Call me a moron, I don't care, but I think there's something very fishy about the All-Star voting.

Conspiracy theories... no I feel like something would come out if they really did this to LaMarcus. Plus, I do believe the coaches put Griffin in it. He's a beast.  All star voting is just bad cuz someone will ALWAYS get screwed

So far as I know Aldridge had the most votes outside of selected reserves by west coast coaches.  That wouldn't surprise me.  I'm even less surprised that Stern picked a garbage time hero like Love to jump in for Yao because his numbers are kinda' impressive.  I say kinda' because ya know, "garbage time hero."

they want to make sure that the teams w/better records have more than one player represented; that's why gasol and duncan got selected/ i'm sure coaches were told that by blazer hater stern.

Eh, Stern only hates Portland by proxy as LA produces five less rebounds a game than Love.  Tie goes to the rebound column!

In all seriousness Stern is little interested in right or wrong from a deserving standpoint.  This essentially means any time he's involved in the decision making process he's going to opt for star power over talent.  Not that those two are mutually exclusive.  Because Stern is primarily motivated by business it's going to make him the bad guy 9 out of 10 times in fans eyes.  That being said, Aldridge got the coaches votes and actually makes his team better so he was more deserving than Love.

The most disappointing aspect about Stern is that he doesn't realize the potential star power LA has.  Put him in the all star game.  Give him more time on nba.com.  The only thing he's lacking is the consistant exposure.  Market him as "the next Tim Duncan" and he becomes a huge resource.  A good businessman doesn't wait for people to tell him what they want.  He convinces people of what they want.  If Aldridge got the air time and the NBA backing it wouldn't take much convincing for basketball fans to jump on the L Train.

All that being said I feel no gratification if Aldridge makes an all star weekend.  I want it for HIM.  Not for me as a fan.  I like seeing people work hard, perform well and get rewarded for their efforts.  Aldridge should have been rewarded for his work this season and that's my biggest gripe with Stern's selection of Love.

It would be nice to see the vote, but since when is the NBA transparent?
I  can see the thought process of picking Duncan, even though his stats are not there, because SA is the #1 team in the league.
Griffen is a rookie, but brings that star power to a HOME EVENT.  Viewers!
I can not knock Love.  He is leading he NBA in Rebounds, but come on now.
If your standards is to take players (deserving) from teams based on wins - see Duncan & darn near the whole Boston team - then how can you take Love over Aldridge.
Aldridge has meant more to his team than Love.  Period!

I guess for me it just comes down to this - It is time for Stern to go.
