    Marc Spears, Yahoo! Sports:
Several sources told Yahoo! Sports that Carmelo Anthony's agent, Leon Rose, has recently begun informing teams that the All-Star forward is interested in signing a contract extension with only the New York Knicks.  The stance has weakened the Denver Nuggets' leverage in trying to deal Anthony, not only to other teams, but also the Knicks.
While it may not seem like "stop the presses" news, this story marks the beginning of the end of the Nuggets as we know them and the beginning of the fall of that "first domino" that many teams and their GMs have been waiting for.  While the moral compass of the game of basketball seems to be spinning out of control, this can't be anything but good news for the Portland Trailblazers.  First, it makes the likelihood of Melo moving east more of a certainty.  More importantly though, the Nuggets have been essentially crippled, any and all leverage in trade talks eliminated.  Portland was once rumored as being a part of a multi-team trade involving Melo, however Denver's asking price was too high.  For those of you critical of Cho having nothing on his Blazer resume to date, take note.  Patience will be rewarded.

Well, at least we know the Nuggets will be a part of history, and not the future.

This doesn't seem to be very good work by the agent.  Taking away any bargaining power he may have had to get more money for his client.  It leads me to believe that Carmelo is either in a "win a championship at any cost" mode or simply bored with the Denver lifestyle and craving the New York pace of life.  If I were the owner of the Knicks,  I would want to know which one  is motivating him since it makes a huge difference in the future of the Knick franchise.  I agree with you BDawg that the best deal Mr. Cho has made is not acquiring Carmelo!  If I were the owner of the Nuggets after this latest, I would cut Carmelo now and use this money to begin acquiring new, young talent (if thats possible within the contract).  It's not as if the Nuggets are the hottest ticket in town even with Carmelo.
I am a fan of cheering our hardworking Blazer team to a championship!

Man i wish i could just pick a team and subsequently have them pick up the ab on my contract.
If this does work out my predictions are......

    1. The world will go in outrage that another team has acquired more than one Superstar.
    2. New york will become a powerhouse in the east to contend with Boston and Orlando, but they will need a few decent bench player to do so, it wont be just Melo and Amare.

    3. A forum topic is started on here discrediting teams and " super Star Stacking"

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
