    From Twitter-
    Adrian Wojnarowski
    Y! Sources: Western Conference All-Star reserves: T. Duncan, P. Gasol, R. Westbrook, B. Griffin, M. Ginobili, D. Nowitzki, and D. Williams.
So it looks like it will come down to Odom, LA, and Love for Yao's All-Star replacement if A-Woj is correct.

Wow,  Tim Duncan and Pau Gasol over Aldridge?  NASH OVER ALDRIDGE?  This is the biggest crap in the world.  Aldridge has been outperforming ALL OF THEM.  Just makes me sick.  This is the most crap from the NBA since the 2002 Game 6 WCF.

I like that LaMarcus scored 40 on one of the starters for the west this week.

I also love that no one seemingly cared less than LaMarcus through the entire process.

For the LOVE OF GOD, can we stop calling him "L.A."?!! There are 2 LA teams in the league, and among the most famous chants in Blazer history is "Beat LA!". I don't think Brandon would respond well to 20,000 "Beat The Natural" signs at a home game. Come on!!!

    I blame Wheels.

Griffin over LA is not the diss. It's Tim Duncan getting in is the bigger travesty with averages of only 13.6 points and 9.4 rebounds. Yes, I know his team is destroying everyone, but that has more to do with Parker and Ginobili. Duncan got it on name recognition alone. I also feel for Love as well. I didn't think he should have made it in over LA, but he would have been a better choice then Duncan.

    The latest on Yao's replacement-
    Chris Tomasson
NBA says it hasn't set an exact timetable when David Stern will name Yao replacement. It's Kevin Love vs. LaMarcus Aldridge for last spot.
So is it Nash, Love, or LA?

The fan voting screwed it all up. If it would have been left up to the players or coaches, LA would have made it. No reason that Yao, Melo (both fan votes) or Duncan should be on the All-Star team. LA and Parker got snubbed big time. Oh well, we should be used to it by now. We are in little Portland, Oregon where we fly under the radar. We'll have the last laugh as LA leads us into the playoffs while Blake watches from his sofa.

    Let's put it this way.

    Wolves - 11 wins
    Suns - 23 wins
    Blazers - 26 wins (above .500)

    Sounds good right?

    Oh wait...

    Stern only cares about offense
Stern has a history of hating the Blazers, especially since Paul Allen didn't want to move the Blazers to a bigger market
    Stern loves Steve Nash

Chances of him picking Steve Nash - 98%
Chances of him picking LaMarcus Aldridge - .0002%
Chances of him picking Love - who cares?  He's picking Steve Nash.

I hate the NBA.  The coaches are stupid.   I really hope Nate McMillan did not vote for Griffin, Gasol, or Duncan.  LMA could beat them 3v1.

Aldridge says he is dreading talking to his mom, Georgia: "She is going to be hurt. She will take this harder than me.''
Honestly, I completely forgot about this aspect. I knew she was his motivation but it got lost in all of the hoopla of LA not making it in. I hope he continues to play for her as well in the 2nd half of the season as he has done so far.

Truly unbelievable.  George Karl said it best when describing why he had voted for LA.  Noone else has carried their team on his back the way LA has...AND has a winning record to show.  Just unbelievable.  You don't have to scheme against Duncan this year, and neither Griffin nor Love to the degree you have to prepare defensively for Aldridge.  Unbelievable.  Oft misunderstood Andre Miller nailed it.

i think that alot of you guys are acting like SUPER DRAMA QUEENS.........and coming form the people who jump at the chance to tease NBA players about "dramatic events".

You guys are soo missing the point. You seem to make it Harder on Aldridge.
Because to him, playing good the way he is, is not enough. He HAS to be on the all star team, but not because its something we have read on LaMarcus's Twitter about how he dreams everynight about playing in the ASG.
    No....
Its because YOU WANT HIM THERE. To show the rest of the world, nation, NBA, that "HEY up here in Portland, look at our shiny toy!.....Huh? what do you think about that..."

    WTF DOES IT MATTER.
He doesnt play for the rest of the nation, or the world, he plays for Portland.
You guys can make him feel like an all star. Its all on you.

Like the fan base of this team wanting Aldridge to make it to the All Star game is the equivelent to a Father stressing his son to become a great football player, because he himself never was.

The reason to "why" Aldridge did not make the game, is simple.
There are better players out there.
Tim Duncan, what a 13 year + veteran, who has never missed the top ten for MvP and missed the top 5 only once in his career..........
Blake Griffin, a ROOKIE, a kid, who came into the league and showed everyone else, how to play basketball.......

I mean Andre Miller can say what he wants, but i dont see how a Rookie would be able to make "everyone else better" its usually the other way around. Let him B_______ and complain about how the refs "ADORE" Blake, there is obviously another issue there, not relating to basketball and millers incompetence to continue crying over spilt milk goes to show where he his head's really at......

Even though this is probably the most pathetic cry for attention a team could have, honestly this is how you guys should feel towards this.
We are in little Portland, Oregon where we fly under the radar. We'll have the last laugh as LA leads us into the playoffs while Blake watches from his sofa.

To make you feel any better, Aldridge could of gone to the game and made a fool of himself....
take Joe Johnson 09 all star game, PX AZ
Johnson, i believe was 0-9 on every type of shot he took the announcers didnt hardly talk about him untill he missed his final shot and they began talking about how horrible he was shooting..

Guys shouldnt trip about this. We have the momentum right now comin off that SA win. AFter the break everyone will be thinking about that, Camby should be getting back on the band wagon soon.
    really whats more important?
Getting one guy to all star game to make a point to the rest of the NBA.....
Or being on Top of the NBA, .....ch...ch...cha....champ.....champi......chamion.....SHIP

TayC, it really has nothing to do with Aldridge underperforming, because he's not.  Once again you try to act like you're always right and end up making a fool of yourself.  Gasol and Duncan, this season, have NOT been better than Aldridge.  That's a solid fact.  Griffin and Aldridge are nearly neck and neck, he's just WAY more overrated.

We're not expecting better from Aldridge, we're expecting better from the NBA coaches.

I could care less if Aldridge actually played in the game, the thing that bugs me is that he deserves the All-Star credit for his performance, and a lot of players get a nod over others by being an "all-star".  Take Deron Williams for an example.  Didn't ever make it until last year.  After last year, people now say he's the best point guard.  Having the All-Star status helps a lot when comparing players.  Aldridge vs Griffin, most would give the nod to Aldridge, especially for WINNING games and his superior defense.  Now, it's basically "Oh Griffin is the All-Star LaMarcus is not".

We're not complaining about Aldridge not making it, we're complaining that he was basically robbed, and anyone with any NBA IQ would know Aldridge deserves to be there, especially over a lot of players, even from both conferences, that are in the game.  If you truly think we're complaining about Aldridge not being good enough, and that you think Aldridge would think that we're thinking that, just proves you aren't reading our posts, and are just trying to troll people.  Nice try buddy.

As Charles Barkley said...The only thing Blake Griffin has done is aw us with all his cool dunks. Alridge is a way better player if you look at all his stats. Plus he has really stepped up to be Portland's lead player when Roy got hurt leading the Blazers to the play-offs when no one expected them to. But to the NBA that isn't enough I guess. No matter what anyone says...Alridge IS Portland's All-Star.

All i can say to this BS is that Aldridge HAS to start in place of Yao because a rookie that has lead his team to a losing record and has freak athleticism being an all star over a player who has proven that he is a future power house and stepped up to lead a DEPLETED team to a possible playoff berth and has out played EVER OTHER PF IN THE GAME TO DAY is nothing but pure BULL S#@*. Stern better make Aldridge an all star or he'll prove the all star game isn't about the best players of the west going against the best players from the east but a game where he gets to watch his favorite players from the east play his favorite players from the west. Aldridge= best power forward in the NBA as of right now. Just pure horse s#@*

ClydeFrog nailed it.  No one cares about Portland.

Herr is right too.  Stern will pick Nash, and it doesn't help that there are already four forward/center reserves in Duncan, Griffin, Dirk, and Pau.

It would also be a shame if Love makes it over LA because let's be honest, he's just a boring player who gets offensive rebounds and lay-up putbacks.  At least LaMarcus is like third or fourth in the NBA in dunks and is actually exciting to watch.  Love's not the type of player for the all-star game, whereas LaMarcus would add some pizzazz to the game.  A plus for LaMarcus is that the TWolves might be the one team in the league that the NBA has less respect for than Portland.

It's funny how most of you always say "Griffen's only getting lots of attention because of his exciting plays, he shouldn't be in the All-Star" but then when you compare LMA to Love you say LaMarcus should get in because he's more exciting to watch even though K-Love has better overall numbers.

Alot of interesting statements in here....and some strong opinions.   First off when I go into any of these debates I try to pretend im not a blazer fan, and to be neutral. I will say that LA should be in the All star game. He has outplayed most of his counterparts including Blake Griffin and Tim Duncan. As for as David Stern having some hate towards the Blazers, maybe..wouldnt be surprised, I have never liked his politics in this league, I have been watching nba basketball since 1990. Portland while not L.A,Chicago,or NYC, is bigger than alot of markets such as Milwaukie,Sacramento,Memphis to name a few, and is the only nba team in the Northwest. But we cant compare to states like Texas and California, or China!! lol to get votes in.

Maybe LA will start in for Yao...that would make sence and lets stay positive that it may happen. As for "ME" wanting LA to be in the all star game so people can go; "oh theres a player from Portland on the team", is simply not the case. I would like to see Mr. Aldridge in the AS game due to his performance this season. He has pulled a complete 180, and is now a legit inside-outside power forward. On top of that, hes carrying the Royless Blazers on his back, and doing a very respectable job. His complete season averages is 21 ppg and 9rpg.....BUT his numbers after Roy went out which is what matters, is hes basicly a 25/10 guy.   25 ppg 10 boards is verrrry good.

So with that being said, if you honestly do not believe Aldridge should be in the AS game, then that tells me your ignorant, and your basketball iq is very little, you just run your mouth. Plain and simple.

If he makes the all-star game or doesnt, He will still be a all-star player in my mind cause hes playing like one, and maybe hell get a better shot next year. I just hope that the rest of the blazers stay healthy and see Roy&Camby get back.

Herr and BigBanks15, you have nailed it. I don't know what TayC is on right now, but just about everything he's said is either overly exaggerated or flat out untrue.

    Re: Super Drama Queens
Aldridge SHOULD be the man picked over:
Duncan: Because Duncan is having the worst statistical year of his career and only got the nod for lifetime achievement.
Griffin: Aldridge has carried this team on his back through injuries and still manages to put 20s, 30s and even a 40 on the opposition, leading to WINS. Wins are what matter in the NBA. Cold. Hard. Fact. Griffin has not proved to help his teammates or pick up the W total in any outstanding way.
So you've got a dwindled player on the best team recordwise and a great, budding player on one of the worst teams, both making the Game while a great player on a successful team is left in the dust.
    Overreacting? I don't think so.

Re: Making a fool of himself
What has LaMarcus done to even let you think about that? He's a consistent PF who has done it all for the team. After doing what he's done, like he'd even care if he missed four shots of six even. If you think LaMarcus could find a way to miss every shot and that that would be embarassing, then Roy missing the alley-oop from CP3 in the NOLA ASG was death. At last check, it wasn't.

Bringing up Roy brings up a thought, he's been in the weekend for the past four seasons. I don't think we're oh so desperate to have an All-Star on the team.

    Re: Andre's Comments
Crying over spilled milk, huh? Andre's telling it like it is. It's worth listening to a seasoned veteran who's been around the block a few times. In case you haven't noticed, refs love to treat the young budding players who are high draft picks like they're all-stars. That still meaning that it tends to be an unfair judgement. The blue collar guys don't get as much respect as they used to or deserve. It's all about the flair to some people. Just cuz someone's athletic and makes the Top 10 highlight reel, does not make them one of the best players.

    Re: LaMarcus' Tweet Dreams
Okay, this has got to be one of the weakest points of what TayC has said. Let's be honest. If you're a player in the NBA, don't you wanna make the All-Star game sometime in your career? Who wouldn't? And look at the number's he's EARNED.
Oh by the way, this year, he cut back a great great deal on the All-Star talk. He noted that it's all about the team winning. If he got the ASG nod, today he'd go "Wow, cool." Not to say he doesn't want it, but that it's not something that NEEDS to be done in order for the TEAM TO WIN. Which is what matters.

Re: Fans Pressure, Yearn for Attention
In case you haven't noticed, we are a smaller-market team. We're on the West Coast. That means that practically no one on the East half of the country remembers there's even a state named Oregon. But they manage to remember California.
That being said, as I mentioned before, Roy has been in the weekend for the past FOUR seasons. It's not a plead for attention. If it's anything, it's a plead and a case for justice.
As for the fans pressuring Aldridge like a father pushing his son to be what he couldn't, where does this thought even come from?  It has no stable background, and is utterly exaggerated and false. If the fans were pressuring anyone, it would be the coaches to vote him in. Everyone in the league could've told you he wouldn't get the fan-voted starting spot. Fact is though, we only did what we could in raising our voice and supporting LA for LA. The coaches get the votes for the reserves, and not enough of them chose Aldridge, electing to present a lifetime achievement award.

    Re: Championship Chant
Focus on a winning a championship? I'm pretty sure even every Blazer fan, player and staff member will tell you, we ain't gonna win it all this year. There are healthier, better teams who we may be able to beat a time or two, but not in a series. This season is about showing and proving how far this team can go while facing what we're facing every day. This season, I wouldn't mind thinking about an All-Star game over a championship this year. Championship in the future, no doubt. Leave the champ chant to TayC's Heatles.

Case in point, this was an extremely undeserved scrub by the league on LaMarcus. Cold. Hard. Fact.

P.S. The fans are FAR from disappointed in LaMarcus. How could we possibly be? Plus, don't be surprised seeing him wearing an All-Star jersey next year.

Duncan over Aldridge is a clear example of the coaches letting their hearts overrule their heads.  They just can't admit that someone who was once great is on the downside of his career, or they want to honor what he used to be.  The problem, of course, is that they are taking away the same honor from a young guy who deserves it, and to whom it would mean a lot more.

I hope LaMarcus can keep it in perspective and not let it get him down.  He's always had all-star -- even superstar -- potential, but he's needed the right mindset and confidence.  I'd hate to see a lack of national recognition get inside his head.  Yes, LaMarcus, you are that good, even if they don't recognize it yet.

Well said.  I agree 100%.  Duncan getting the coaches vote, as Canzano has said, "feels more like a lifetime achievement award".  I am anxious to see how LA responds, on the floor, should Stern not select him as Yao's replacement.

It's funny how most of you always say "Griffen's only getting lots of attention because of his exciting plays, he shouldn't be in the All-Star" but then when you compare LMA to Love you say LaMarcus should get in because he's more exciting to watch even though K-Love has better overall numbers.

It's funny how you don't realize that Love's numbers have lead the Wolves to a negative record. L.A however has had an outstanding season that has lead his team to a WINNING record and has out played ever other forward he has played against and won the game. With the acception to Pau Gasol because Roy was their when they played the Lakers. L.A deserved this All Star game, more than any other player in the league.

    Thanks bdawg for the response.
Since he got the snub I hope Aldridge takes it out on Indiana today and scores 52.

Great article from SLAM on why LA should have been chosen over Tim Duncan-
Head-to-head, January 17, against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Aldridge won the game and match-up against Love going for 37 and 12 to Love’s 22 and 17. January 20, nationally televised game, Aldridge leads the Portland Trail Blazers to victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Aldridge finishes with 28 and 8 while Blake Griffin ended with 20 and 18 off of 6-17 from the field. Then, to really make my case, Tuesday night Aldridge exploded for a 40-point ,11-rebound performance in a rout of the Spurs. Duncan finished with 15 and 7.

Just announced...Kevin Love to replace Yao Ming.  Unbelievable.  This years classic will now have one less viewer.  Stern, it's decision making like this that may have put you in the position you're in, having to lay off 70% of your law office employees.  At least you're consistent.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
