What is the biggest key to finally winning in Denver?
    Win the rebound battle (7)
     30%
Another 20+ scorer to help Aldridge out (5)
     22%
    Bench production (8)
     35%
Limit Denver's fast break points (1)
     4%
    Win the turnover battle (2)
     9%

After ending their five-game homestand in style against the Spurs, the Trail Blazers will face a familiar foe on the second night of a back-to-back, the Denver Nuggets. How often does this occur? Check out Casey's blog for the rundown. The Pepsi Center, quite possibly the most difficult of any around the NBA for the Blazers to get a win, as proven by Denver's dominant 14-1 record in the Mile High City over Portland in their last 15 games.

Combined with the fact the team doesn't historically play well in the altitude and the guys are coming off of an emotional high, this game could have letdown written all over it. But I don't think that will happen as the road woes in that city are apparent to the team and they definitely want to get the monkey off of their backs. To accomplish this, they must contain Nene and Martin on the glass. Denver's a very physically team and they completely manhandled us in the paint last time around without Camby and Marcus won't be there tonight. Second, the Blazers really need Wesley to step up again. His scoring takes the defensive focus away from LA and allows him to work more freely.

Looking at the box score from the last game in Denver and the home win vs. Denver its looking like rebounding will be the biggest key, then probably a 20+ scorer. Nic had a nice game in Denver, hoping he feels a little better tonight and can make a bigger impact.

    1. What can't the Denver arena be pressurized as are the cabins of commercial planes?

    2. Even with Dante's ghastly mouthguard, we are a MUCH handsomer team. Bonus points should be awarded to POR, especially if Marcus is wearing a suit at courtside.

    3. Yes, I'm still giddy from last night's game.

Hopefully we can get enough o2 for our guys and try to spread the minutes around. the altitude is tough that is huge and especially doing back to backs. i think the keys are  rebounding foremost, bench production which is thin and also playinng your game and not letting the factors of not winning in denver in ages get to you.  hopefully they can stay focused on how they beat the spurs which is play your game and play it better then the other team.  that is a huge key.  believing in what you can do as a player and do it well

It's simple; play the same way they did last night against S.A.

Wesley or Dre really needs to keep the focus off of LA, otherwise they will swarm Aldridge. Also, we have to limit Nene. He always kills us off of garbage points and offensive rebounds.

Despite the Melo-drama (which you can argue has subsided), the Nuggets are a smart team. They know they can pick the Blazers apart. If Wesley or Nic can step up around Aldridge, this game is well within reach. Nene might bother LA, but not birdman (Chris Andersen, the guy who hasn't been the same after an injury). If you can win the inside battle, this game should be in hand. They know how to contain Carmelo, they just can't get distracted by him to the point they leave deadly shooters wide open.

Billups, Afflalo, Smith, all like shooting transition 3's. Watch the long rebounds. Don't double team Melo too much, he is a good passer, and Camby's not here for weak side help on D. Make Carmelo earn it, hack him, and make him play defense.

Denver plays more aggresive defense in the paint then San Antonio. Spreading the floor and finding open shooters is a must against Nene, Birdman, and Martin.

Denver is very tough to beat at home, take the sting outta the crowd by humiliating them early with knock down jumpers and aggresive play around the basket. Get these folks going home around halftime.

We had this game. We had this game. Denver wasn't their usual selves through 3 quarters and I know if we had a healthy Wesley or Camby, the outcome would have been different. Once again, I think it was the tired legs that did us in during the 2nd half.

Did you guys see Carmelo make fun of the blazers by pretending to be injured at the end of the game (about 1:16 left) and call time out.

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
