What was the biggest key to victory?
    Winning the rebounding battle (5)
     15%
    Getting hot from 3 (8)
     24%
Containing San Antonio's fast break (1)
     3%
    Bench production (8)
     24%
    Limit turnovers (6)
     18%
    Aldridge in the post (4)
     12%
Stopping Blair in the 2nd half (0)
     0%
Wesley and Andre stepping up (1)
     3%

After losing two straight, the season doesn't get any easier for the Trail Blazers, who face the league's best team, the San Antonio Spurs. Back on December 12th, the Spurs handled the Blazers 95-78 and left no doubt who the superior team was. But, this time around, the game will be played in the Rose Garden. Although Portland's dropped two straight at the RG, they always seem to get up for the big games.

Portland did a phenomenal job on the glass against the Celtics on Thursday, winning the rebounding battle 49-42, and they'll have to do the same against Tim Duncan and DeJuan Blair of the San Antonio Spurs. In that game the guards really showed up on the backboard, Wesley pulled down 7, Dre 5 and even Patty & Rudy combined for 6. If the Blazers can continue to own the glass, their chances of pulling off the upset increase exponentially. These aren't your Dad's Spurs though. SA is #5 in both points (104) and FG% (.470), so Portland must bring the defense and keep this a long scoring affair. The once grind-it-out Spurs, now love to run and gun.

    just protect yourselves.
the guys have been going out the past few games.
take down the kings.....oh no LA dont be hurt.

then its ....go out and take down the C's....oh no batum please dont be hurt.

Now you wanna take down the Spurs....oh no ( enter next most important players name) please dont be hurt.

You could push for a win, and if the spurs lose two things could happen.
They could totally be affected the remainder of the season, messin up all over.....
    or.......
    nothing at all will happen.

Lose this game intentionally, tank the season, draft Irving or Jones. Lol. Everybody in management has to know the Blazers aren't making it out of the first round. So might as well make the season worth it by tanking and picking up a solid player. lol

Defensive rebounds, no easy put backs

Spurs best 3 point shooters in NBA, don't give them any room outside

watch the corners, hands up on D, STAY ON YOUR MAN! Spurs like to drive and kick to funky places.

My only hope is that Wesley doesn't get choked out like his dad did back in 87.  We have too many guys hurt right now and we need his production more than ever. Especially with Memphis, Phoenix, and Houston closing in on our 8th and final playoff spot.

As much as I'd love Jones or Irving on this team, we are way to ahead of teams like the Wolves, Cavs, Kings, and Raptors to start thinking tank. We did win the lotto with the 7th best shot, so you never know, but I'd rather see if LA can carry this team to the playoffs first before I think about losing.

Please catch fire from 3! SA doesn't defend the 3 to well, so there's one chink in their armor. that means you Rudy, Wesley, Nic, and Patty need to get your shooting stroke ready tonight! The 3 goggles gets the crowd fired up!

Nice adjustment at the half, caging up Blair in quarters 3 and 4.  LA displayed true leadership qualities tonight, stepping up when his team needed him most.  Not a bad time to go for a career high either, at home against the best team in basketball and with two days remaining before the coaches vote for reserves for this years All-Star game.  Couldn't be a more proud Blazer fan tonight.  Gutty win.

Umm, I heard the voting stops at midnight PST on TUESDAY.  Thursday is when they're revealed.  There's still 2 or so hours until voting stops, but I don't think it's until Thursday. Could be wrong.

But umm, he had a great case well before today.  This was just the stamp on the letter that he needs to be an All-Star.

Wow. I cant believe it. honestly i just watched like 3 different sets of highlights, nice.
L- Train going all the way. I bet youll get duncans vote....especially after a game like that.

But, only thing that scares me, is what if someone decides to gaurd L.A.?

Or he gets hurt? Are we overusing him to the point that if he is for some reason not able to get things working in a game, will it cost us the game?
have we become completley reliable on LA>?

    ps, wtf dante?

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
