UPDATE as of 4pm on 1-25-11:

LaMarcus Aldridge MRI is negative for tear or cartilage damage.  He does have a hip contusion and is listed as probable for Thursday's game vs. Boston.
    courtesy of OregonLive.com

Jason Quick of the Oregonian reported late last night after the home loss to the Sacramento Kings that Blazers PF and 2011 All-Star candidate LaMarcus Aldridge had X-Rays for a sore right hip following the game.

Aldridge had surgery on his left hip in 2005 as a freshman at Texas to repair torn cartilage suffered during a January 15 game against Nebraska.

Cho said it is unlikely the team will find out the results until Tuesday morning.

In Quick's article, he quoted LA as saying "it's nothing", referring to the sore hip.  That is good enough for me, as I'm sure we can all agree, this team has endured enough already.  However, that said, even in a best case scenario with X-Rays coming back negative, this story serves as a not-so-gentle reminder that the Blazers can ill afford to lose their starting PF for any amount of time.  The Chris Johnson signing, adding depth to Portland's frontcourt, should help with the load Aldridge has been having to carry...even if only for a few minutes a game.

    LaMarcus is being over-played!
    His minutes should be reduced.

As stated in the post, it was just sore. He's been playing alot of minutes and his body just isn't quite used to it. I think taking a couple of minutes off of his playing time each game with help to losen his body up a bit. But no. No fall or anything significant to make him have to have a MRI.

I''m not suggesting we get rid of Lillard in the slightest. But I think his backup must be a good defender. And must be a guy who can play 8-10 mins and run a pick and roll or atleast handle the ball enough to allow us to run our sets in the half ...
