I wonder if we got another hardship waiver, because we already had 15 players under contract. i don't know much about him, but he isn't a huge center, more long and lanky, but he can jump!

His numbers for the D-League are very good.  His numbers put at # 2 in the NBADL with 17.2 PPG, 9.7 RPG, and 3.1 BPG.  He leads the D-League in blocks.  I think he'll be a good addition for the time that we have him.

Hope he gets some minutes, D League stats don't always translate over but if he can defend, grab some boards, and get some put backs that really all we need him to do.

According to oregonlive.com, Chris Johnson was added to the raster on a 10-day contract because of a hardship exception, allowing the team to have more than the allotted number of players on the roster.  We now have 16 players.  Johnson (6-11, 210 lbs.) averages 17.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 3.07 blocks per game in the D-league.  He went 51.0% from the field for 34 points and 14 rebounds on the Jan. 22 game against Rio Grande Valley.
He sounds like a solid player who can help the team clog the paint and get defensive stops.  He also seems to be an offensive threat, so hopefully, this will help the Blazers out!

i don't think he'll get any play time unless someone gets into serious foul trouble.

This team was desperately in need of adding some depth up front, if for no other reason, to alleviate some of the pressure (and minutes) on LA's back...at least until the Cambyman is able to lace 'em up again.  Johnson seems to be a kid that likes to get out and run, and loves to finish over the top.  He's long and athletic and in interviews, seems well spoken and genuine.  Only downside I see is his abilities in the halfcourt defensively, particularly against some of the bulkier big men in the league.  Like the signing and wish him the best of luck.  He'll be called upon in this upcoming stretch, with games against the likes of San Antonio, Boston, and Denver.

Chris is an wndrafted gem of a center, plays defense, rebounds, scores, and passes well. Given playing time I feel he is what is missing from the starting line-up.........   A true threat at center...... yes I said the  "c"  word but he will overcome the Oregon center jinx.      GO BLAZERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
