    From Oregon Live-
Despite all that, Aldridge did not get an endorsement for the All-Star Game from TNT's big star, Charles Barkley, who stubbornly stuck to his stance that two other players should be selected.

"Hey, this kid's having a terrific season," Barkley said. "But I'm already on the record: If Kevin Love and Blake Griffin don't make the All-Star team, I think it would be a travesty."

Really Chuck? I know you've never been our biggest fan, but the Trail Blazers are 6-0 against Love and Griffin this year. Portland has 24 wins, the Clippers and Wolves have 26 combined. Aldridge tied his career-high then set a new career-high against Love and the Wolves. He plays the best defense out of the 3. He possesses the best offensive repertoire of the bunch and he is leading his team to the playoffs despite a surplus of injuries.

    Well said Dhawes.
Barkley seems to open his mouth before he really thinks things through.
He obviously doesn't know the stats and seems to be making his statements based only on personal feelings. I think Barkley is kind of dumb, funny, but dumb nevertheless.

you know this entire think would be solved if 1 thing happened, aldridge was also listed as a center, he has played plenty of the center spot and he could definately hold his own, my 2 cents

Ya i was gonna say the same kinda thing as DHawes... LA has performed well against griffin and love, and come up on top on the six games against them... The fact the LA scored enough to tie and then beat his career high against Love should at least put him before Love for the allstar game

Well said !!  LaMarcus has night in and night out done what this 'team' needs, despite what ever the numbers may be!  If Love and /or Griffin were on a 'good' team they might not have 'the numbers' they are getting.  LaMarcus' quiet confidence, and letting his performances speak for themselves are admirable...we need to be his voice !!   Barkley WAKE UP....Are you getting too set in your ways to not see what is happening ??  (Like your golf game ??)  This last week, has shown what should be a no brainer, especially with the head to head match ups !!  A VOTE FOR LAMARCUS !!

Barkey is an idoit,  hopefully he don't quit his day job because his judgement is horrable  L.A. to L.A  I say,  in my opinion griffin nor love has done what aldridge has this year, 47 point game , and 1 30, 30 night does not mean your an all star  maybe next year but not this year boys  L.A is were it's at. I would consider the league a big joke if LA didnt make it,

If any of you guys heard, after the game last night in his interview on TNT, he said he doesn't care whether he makes it or not. He also says he doesn't think he'll get in cuz there's too many good forwards in the west. But ultimately, I think he will get in.

I hate the fact that the All Stars are voted in by fans anyway. I don't think fans are the best judges of knowing who's playing all over the league nor who's doing the most for their teams. Even if Griffin's numbers were poor, but he kept dunking the way he does, fans around the country would still pay more attention to him than to LA because Griffin's getting the highlights on all the sports shows. It's a ridiculous idea to assume that fans are going to be a good judge of the entire leagues talent.

I'd love to see LA join the ranks of all the great players who've played before him by being an All Star, but the All Star game is a little like a dog and pony show anyway. The entire season's put on hold so that people can watch two mutant teams with no chemistry play offense.

Blake Griffin will win the fan vote by far even though LA deserves it more.

What are the chances Aldridge wins the coaches vote?

I would say at least 70%

Throwing out all of the valid arguments that have LA in over Love and Blake, how about ENTERTAINMENT value being a factor?  After all, no matter how good a rebounder Love may be, watching him play puts me to sleep.  After a Love rebound and kick, I can get up and go make a sandwich in the time it takes him to get down the floor.  Who wants to watch THAT?  Not me.  LA would obviously be behind Griffin in this department though, but who wouldn't?

Barkley is only a part of the TNT team for his entertainment value.  There is absolutely no merit to anything he ever says.

@Jack Boyz...I agree, and he will do it in a Blazer uniform

I don't think people know, but RUMOR has it that he wanted to come to Portland to team up with Terry Porter and Clyde Drexler, and create a BIG THREE.  If anyone ever watches the tubby or follows the NBA as much as I do, you'll see him bashing LBJ, Wade, and Bosh for creating their own big 3.  What a hypocrite.

Anyways, so Portland didn't want to trade the pieces to get Barkley, so he went to Houston or Phoenix whichever one it was.  And now he has hated on Portland ever since.  Not only that, but he's hated on Oregon as well.  He almost cussed during a question sent to him during his "ask Chuck" program at a kid, wearing an Oregon shirt, asking him who he thought would win the bowl.

The dude has had drinking problems.  The only reason he (and Kenny Smith) are on TNT is strictly for entertainment purposes.  Sadly, a lot of idiots that watch them take what they say to heart, and make that their own opinion.

all i an think is blake griffon has no D whats so ever he cant stand up on the defensive end against any of the top forwards in the league and the only reason he had so many points is cause the ref's love him and call every little thing when he has the ball

I feel as if alot of you guys are WANTING Aldridge to be in the all star game so bad, that you are not recognizing how spectacular Griffin and Love are playing.
Like Aldridge is playing well, yes we know that, and thats all great. But, why has it taken this long? Like why hasnt he played like that before?
    I mean what clicked?

So there can be a negative aspect on it. Alot of you guys hate too much to even have a straight opinion about Love and or Griffin, your minds are already made up, so of course there might be some bias from your side of the window.

Love and Griffin however, are playing BETTER than Aldridge. Its apparent that few of you are realizing this.
Like Kevin Love is leading the LEAGUE in rebounds, he had  a 30 board game, i mean that is intense, that is an exclamation point on his season stats.

Griffin is a ROOKIE, and he is playing better than most of the PF in the NBA right now.
He is single handedly saving that franchise, all his consecutive double dub games....for a rookie????
Thats why he is valued more than Aldridge, because it is more intense to the rest of the NBA.

Aldridge's performance, however great you might see it, really only effects Portland, where as these other guys are straight effecting the rest of the league, and i think that is why a statement such as the one Barkley made has some validity.

Like you guys hate , WAYYY toooo mUUUCCChhhhh, some of you have nothing nice to say about these other players at all, and yet you want people to respect your players........

Absolutely, I agree I like what you say a lot. Everyone on this site is biased about LA. However, LaMarcus has played them both recently and beat them both and put up better numbers than both of them both times. Portland also has a better record than those other non playoff teams and history shows us that this usually matters a lot when it comes to all star selection by the coaches. Don't forget Aldridge did something this year no one else has done since Shaq in 2005. And it wasn't just a one night performance, it was a span over 5 games. Aldridge has been playing very consistent basketball and his averages have increased every month. Had Brandon been injured since the first game of the season, Aldridge might have had as good as or better numbers than Griffin or Love.

Love and Griffin are great and deserve a tremendous amount of respect for what they're doing this season, but so does LA. We'll just wait and see what happens, I have read a lot articles saying that most of the coaches are more than likely going to put LA in the game. But I wouldn't feel like he got screwed over if he doesn't make it.

How many people do I have to tell that being a Rookie or a sophomore or a veteran does NOT matter?  It's about who is playing better THIS SEASON.  I don't care if Griffin was a 5 year old, he's not performing on both ends of the court as well as LaMarcus.  Neither is Love. I give the nod to LaMarcus over both of them.  Love and Griffin are two of the worst defenders at the PF spot.  LaMarcus is arguably the best.

Like I mean that's exactly what you do to people here and the Blazers. You're all up on Lebroner's sac and now Griffins and hate on us for liking our Blazers then act like the high and mighty voice of reason on the NBA when you have an exceptionally low basketball iq.  Like what do you expect?? I mean that is way bold of a statement dude.

Tom Why are you just wrong about everything you say about me? And why are you trying to fight with me? Like it was so nice when i thought you totally vanished the past few weeks.

I am not on Griffins nuts at all, Its just that i believe he is having a bigger pull on the nation. Maybe its because people like to see someone who is a rookie just totally dominate the league, but if that was true then Herr's statement is not.
    Ya know?
But It is, people like that, and Blake is making some guys look like fools out there.
Say what you want, but when Griffin gets into the all star game, and Aldridge doesnt, then i will let you give me a sponge bath.

You may hurt me with your words, you may cut me with your lies, but still, like air, ill rise.
