How can Portland complete the season sweep of L.A.?
    Aldridge carrying the team (4)
    Win The Rebounding Battle (7)
Contain the rest of the Clippers outside of Griffin (6)
    Hold L.A. to under 100 points (3)
Live at the free throw line (2)

After grinding out a must win in Sacramento the night previous, Portland heads home for the first of a five-game homestand as they look for the season sweep of the Clippers. Both teams played last night, so there will be no advantage stamina wise either way and Portland historically dominates Los Angeles in the Rose City, posting a 80-16 all-time record.

While all eyes will be on the LaMarcus Aldridge and Blake Griffin matchup, and rightfully so, this game, just like last night's will be won or lost based upon Portland's role players. LA proved he could get his numbers regardless of double teams against the Kings, but what really kept the Blazers afloat were the scoring outputs of both Andre Miller and Nicolas Batum. Once again, Portland needs two other players to score 17 or more to lower the scoring burden from Aldridge. Also, winning the rebounding battle could prove to be the difference tonight. The Clipps post the league's best rebounding differential at +4.22. Finally, the Blazers can't just hone in on Griffin and forget about the rest of the team. Eric Gordon is a lethal offensive weapon, dropping 23.8 ppg, good enough for 8th in the league, and their team as a wjhole scores the 7th most points in the league at a little over 103 a night.

Take it to the rack, draw the foul.
The Clippers have lost alot of their games, with free throws being one of the big factors. They have a tendency to repeat themselves, in mistakes, on offense, in other words they are not going to surprise you, if they win, they will do it with genuinely hard fought basketball.
So let them repeat the mistakes i say, and let our guys live at the line and grab some easy points.
Working Aldridge down low, getting him to maybe drive it in, pull off some Andrew Drop-Step Bynum.

Watch out for Blake though. He is like the troll that lives under the bridge, except his bridge is the hoop and he doesn't care if you answer his riddle or not, he's finna ball.

Just sit Dre the entire game, and we should be good.

Look for Wesley to have a big night. He usually follows bad games with great games.

Tonight the Blazers need a solid win (a blowout would be nice, but we can't have everything).  Look for the inside-outside game with Batum and Matthews bringing the outside shots and Aldridge and others coming together with big offensive rebounds and post moves.  As soon as the double comes on Aldridge, someone is open for a three.  If we can shoot well beyond the arc in the beginning, the Clips should have a difficult time defending the paint and the outside.  We can pick up an easy 15+ points at the line tonight as well. I am confident that the Blazers can pull one out tonight!

L.A. needs to go strong to the hoop and get people into foul trouble, as well as going hard to the glass with his size he should not be out-rebounded by anyone. Because the all-star game is in LA. our L.A. will be left out in favor of a certain rookie clipper unless that rookie is schooled and dunked on by Lamarcus A. Wesley also needs to get to the line and stop settling for the three, if your wide open with L.A. opposite side under the glass take the three if not go strong, start a foul collection, make the game easier for everyone by getting opposing starters out of the game early then run it up. We walk the ball too much we could get at least 20 more shots a game and we could use the 18+ points this would generate.

I know there have been other threads about this but I went to to see the boxscores ours sux dont know why but I would like to see mins played and such and the other team stats as well. But that is not what I am complaining about (chuckle). I saw the highlights on and I swear if you did not see the score you would have bet your last dollar that the Clippers won. It looked like everyone had a pretty good game by the box score.I would have liked to have seen it.

Once again, Aldridge passes another All-Star audition with flying colors. The defense in the 2nd half on Blake was tremendous and he looked like Sheed Wallace on the low post, taking Blake to school with ease n the 4th!
