    From ESPN's Marc Stein-
Another shock to the system after our recent discussion with Camby about the "snake-bitten" Blazers: Wes Matthews responding to his First Trimester MIP nod with a curse-defying 36 points in Friday's win at Minnesota.

He has Portland at 12, up a spot from last week's 13 and just one spot behind our next opponent the New York Knicks. By his count, we are playing the 6th best basketball in the Western Conference, even though our record states it would be 8th. I really can't complain with the rankings. We beat a pretty good Houston team on the road, smothered the Wolves, lost a toughy away in Dallas, and played the Heat just about as good as anyone can right now.

Meh, I feel Portland should be up more, but it's better than being 14th or 15th or whatever NBA.com had us at.  The thing is it doesn't seem like we're only 2 games above .500, but that SHOULD change the way the Blazers are playing.  The wins have been huge while the losses have been expected/quiet.

I still think the Lakers are way too high.  They've lost every competitive match up possible this season and have been living off bottom feeders and playing lame basketball.  Champs or not, I wouldn't put them above the handful of teams that are playing some of the best basketball their franchises have seen.

I'm not so sure we should be up that much higher Herr. We failed to beat an injury-depleted Dallas team and blew a 7 point lead with 2:02 to play against the Heat. We win both of those games, then yes, I'm right with you. But until we can consistently beat quality teams, then #12 is fine by me.

^^^Oh, and don't forget we only shot 34.9% tonight against the Knicks.

    12 isn't okay with me...at all.
I think the 17-20 area would be more appropriate.

Barton has some potential he is too thin at the moment. He is also a little out of control at times, which he improved a lot as the season we on. His shooting though was just dreadful at times which is why I pushed for him to go to the d league so...

You know why ripcity cause he fing earned those extra calls the same way MJ did and the same way Lebron has. I mean just watch Lebron play he commits around 5 or more offensive fouls per game just lowering his head running over defenders but never...

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
