What is the biggest key to victory?
Another dominant performance by Aldridge (6)
    Role players stepping up (6)
    Defend the 3-point line (1)
Limit New York's fast break (2)
    Control the paint (5)

Although the Blazers had their eight-game home winning streak snapped Sunday night at the hands of the Heat, it's time to start a new on against the Knicks, a team the Blazers defeated back on October 30th. Have the Knicks got better since that game nearly 3 months ago? Yes, but I'd argue that Portland is playing better right now as well. All eyes will be on Aldridge and Stoudemire, and deservingly so. Both players have put their respective teams on their backs and are playing like legit Top-5 power forwards. We know both guys will have huge nights, the question remains which role players step up to the plate and deliver?

The Knicks will take a lot of 3-point shots, so it is imperative for the Blazers to get out and defend that 3-point line. Where Portland has the clear-cut advantage is inside, where Camby, Przybilla, Cunningham, and Aldridge have a decided physical advantage over their New York counterparts. If Portland can continue to get an aggressive performance out of Batum, stay in the paint, and hold the Knicks to under 50% shooting, they should get that win streak back started in the Rose Garden!

Batum is on a roll at home.  I'm expecting another 15-20 pt game from him.  We got a good bench... at home... and this is at home.  I'm feeling fairly confident in this one.  Amar'e can't defend, and you need a guy that can defend LMA.  I just hope the refs don't let Amar'e do what Love did.

RDomint performances by aldridge... will be no doubters if they can continue playing they way the have been.
keep using L.A as the offensive coordinator.
Amare though, he is a beast indeed.

We need to control the paint tonight to get the job done. Bottom line. They just don't have the big men inside to stop Aldridge and Camby from doing what they do.

None of the above. Limit Ray Felton. That's it. Amar'e and everyone else on the Knicks can't beat the Trail Blazers if Felton doesn't have a good night.

I think we need our role players to step up. We had the Heat right where we wanted them; only 11 points were scored outside of LeBron, Bosh, and wade, but we couldn't match up with their firepower. Now, I know New York doesn't have a big 3, but someone else needs to consistently step up and help out Aldridge. It was Batum last game, but I think we need a make-shift Big 3 of our own. LA + any other 2 who want to get in on the act.

The Heat beat us twice. Don't look anymore in this game. We were still flat from the loss against Miami. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Darnit! We needed this game! Too much Knicks, not enough Blazers. Rudy and Patty helped keep it close, but way too much one on one ISO stuff, only 8 team assists for the Blazers tonight. Too many telgraphed passes, and terrible jump shooting tonight for the good guys. We got some ground to make up now boys & girls.

It was a terrible terrible game, but I won't be like certain people here making big whinge topics and calling out random players as useless because of one game, it was just a bad one. People talk about the three point shooting, but we were terrible in close as well, I think we were 33% from 2pt range which is appauling. We just couldn't get anything going closer to the basket. Without Aldridge there's no post game, and without Roy there's no clinical penetrator of the defence. Rudy tried to get things going toward the basket, but he can't be relied on to do that consistently. So we're limited to cutting and coming off screens etc which i thought the Knicks defended very well, and when he decides to show up, Miller can occasionally create his own shot.
But yeh our three point shooting will often be trouble though considering the people who take the most threes in Matthews and Fernandez are incredibly streaky and Batum shoots in the low 30's, we lack a pure shooter for sure.
Onto the next game, hopefully we can find much better rhythm!

I heard Portland Just Gave this game to NY.
Amongst terrible shooting and  COMPLETLY RELYING ON ALDRIDGE, i think Fernandez had a nice game , and Camby was solid.

But here is the thing, now that we are running the offense through Aldridge we have to not stop there. Change it up, dont become predictable, which is what happened last night, LA with 3 early fouls.
Blazers have some decent 3pt shooters, but Roy is the more reliable one, however WM is the hottest one for the team. But allowing the  team to become predicable such as, using their new toy Aldridge untill NY figured it out then resulting to their old Shoot and Stand routine.

I just want to say to all the people who about 3 months ago, were saying everything naughty about OKC, and how they suck and how Portland is the WAYYYY better team, and Kevin Durant is BS and did i mention the part about how much OKC sucks??????

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
