"Marks was in the lineup during theBlazers' 103-100 win at Houston, and although he did not play, his presence on the bench means the remainder of his veterans' minimum contract will be guaranteed."

Good. Sean has made a real contribution, much to the surprise of many, beyond just giving Camby a thoroughly well-earned breather from time to time. He's good insurance.

Not so glad to hear. Sorry, I dont drink all the kool aide served in Blazerland, still not buying we could do better for a back up big . Yes, I realize he was not the first choice and injuries are a reality.  Fingers crossed LA,Camby and DC keep up the great job they are doing.
Did Cho get that barrel of stick um yet?  Marks will have to grab a rebound for my vote.  :(

Good for Marks. There is nothing wrong with a little stability for a person. I don't see what the big fuss is in keeping him though. It's not like Hakeem Olujuwon's yougner brother is available. He's a 3rd string center who can come in, give 6 hard fouls, and occasionally hit the jump shot. Way to go Sean!

The Kool-Aid tastes good Kim, try some :D

Sean Marks his spot, and it's here in Portland.  Agree with D.  Marks has been a sturdy, steady force on this Blazer team since being given a chance.  A feel good story, Marks has quietly earned his way onto this roster, making good on the opportunity afforded him with the unexpected retirement of Oberto, and injuries to GO, Priz and JP.

I just dont have the taste yet Hawes. Maybe it will grow on me, same with Mills.
Since the alternative seems to be no one, I have to live with it. Maybe my standards are to high.

I'm happy for Sean. Good to see someone who came into the mix during hard times, played through and earned a spot.

@Kim- Patty hasn't grown on you yet? Hop on the plane! We're going down under! Patty's spark was HUGE last night, don't you think?

Sean is 3rd string and he knows it and embraces it. We need him for insurance and there is no one else we could get otherwise I'm sure we would have for that price.

i'm going to approach this in a different way. Kim, if you think we could have found a better option than Sean, that's cool. i would challenge you, however, to offer up some possible names of guys who were available at that time. i think your comments may be taken more seriously if you were to do that, then to keep complaining about Sean (also Patty and Greg, for that matter).

i know i've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating: we need to talk about what we have, rather than we may wish we had or may do in the future. wish lists are great and all, but i'd rather deal with the facts of the situation rather than sit around and complain about the same players over and over.

Marks knows what his role is. Being available for a moment of playing time. He realizes he may have to come in to fill in if a player gets in foul trouble or (let's hope no more of this) a big goes down to injury. Should that happen, he'll be ready regardless.

Exactly.  Not going to win us a championship, but no one that is available for our exemptions is going to either.

Well, the lottery is tomorrow, so fingers crossed. What my issue is, is that why would the Bucks trade away one of their best players, and potential DPOY for many years to come, for Nic Batum and a bunch of picks in a weak draft?

Blaser, Fab Melo had 14 blocks in the D-League, you want him? Noel has good instincts, but he is waaay to weak to go up against NBA bigs. Like I said before, Deron Williams weighs more than him. He as already had a knee injury, and we know how tha...
