I think Blazers fans are pretty clear where the team is heading. Andre Miller is on the block. With Brandon Roy out for who knows how long, there's a need there. Batum & Aldridge are the two guys they really want to hang on to. They have more conservative management now ... so you're going to have to be patient.
What to make of this? I really don't think it's any news "news" so to speak. I believe all of our attractive contracts will be the most actively shopped, but with the trade deadline looming, will they make a move?

We don't really NEED to make a move as Andre has a team option, but Pryzbilla's I believe does not and just expires. If they plan to use Pryzs contract it obviously needs to happen by Feb 15

Waiting for the second week in February with Miller is the best course of action, as there are possibilities of his value significantly appreciating. With Joel, I'm not sure that is the case, and as Bertram has stated, his contract will just expire.

If we are gonna trade miller, id trade him with joel for the wallace/augustine trade, it would give us quite a better squad

How about Miller, Rudy, Cunningham, First round Pick, AJ, and Pryzbilla for Chris Paul? Someone got that stupid ESPN trade Machine thing to see if that'd work? I'm sure CP3 will be leaving New Orleans. They're completely healthy and have no real future, and CP3 wants a future. Roy and Oden can come back strong next season. CP3, Oden, Roy, Aldridge, Batum/Mathews? That's championship right there.

Even if Roy and Oden dont come back healthy or in a timely fashion. With CP at the helm, our perimeter shooters will have no excuse for not getting enough touches. CP is a playmaker. Unfortunately in N.O. he hasnt been able to be the CP of old because he has shooters that are suspect. The trade that you propose Mr. Herr is damned appealing. Id love to kick that trade machine all up and around the excremental orifice to make this happen, but i dont think its reality.
I can see it now. CP3 to L.A., Boomshakalaka. CP# to Batumshakalaka. CP# to Wesley for.... he puts it down and one. To Rudy for three, ring it up!! Rip City.

I think the Blazers are listing to all trade offers.
Aldridge, Batum & Matthews being the likely core they want to build around.

Confident if they make a trade it will be looking toward the future, not just this year.

On Miller, he has been playing very well and really sets our bigs up for easier baskets at the rim. So on one hand he has been an intrigal part of the team, but on the other hand he is getting up there in age and has an ending contract (team option for next year) so you look to see if you can cash that in for parts that will help longer.

I believe they'll let Dre and Camby retire as a Blazer, and "Aldridge, Batum & Matthews being the likely core they want to build around (Napoleon7)." It's more likely that they'll also keep Rudy and Patty. Everyone else will be on the block (for a future backup-now-starter-later at the 5 and/or a solid backup at the 4 and/or a point-guard-of-the-future and/or a swingman).

Nothing new. Cho is not going to be pressured. The team is two games over .500, which is where they should be @ .500. So for now they are doing well, no panic the ship is not sinking. I am sure that one of the 3 - Camby, Pryz, or Miller will be traded. I just think that it is hard to trade the Iron Man Miller on a team that has injuries all the time. Most likely Joel will be delt with a bench player and one or two of the 2nd round picks that KP has stockpiled for the team. If we get a PG back or trade for one Armon will be included. Don't forget the Blazers have Elliott Williams coming in next year at PG. There really isn't any pressure to trade Andre right now, especially since we are on the plus side of .500. He is consistant at least 10 pts/g and 6-7 Asists/g. Just look at his good stats for tonight and the low amout of minutes. Also look at the combine totals of Mills and Miller = damn good. To me I would continue to play the two at around 20 min each and evaluate........isn't that what Cho is doing?!

Miller isn't going anywhere...you don't throw the backbone of the team away when they need him the most.

Nobody is untouchable, though I'd hate to see LA or Matthews go... If the right offer came along, sure I'd trade Miller. Right now 'Dre is mentoring Mills -- that's his highest value to us. Unless he's packaged with others, it's unlikely we get another PG back either, so the question to consider: "is Patty ready to fill the starting shoes for the rest of the season?"

If Patty is in our medium- to long-term plans, why not trade 'Dre? We're likely not making it past the first round this year, so the extra time would be great for Mills. If he's not, a trade needs to account for a PG for the medium- to long-term or we should keep Andre for the team option and wait for next year.

We trade Miller we make another bad decision. (Oden, Bowie) just a few bad moves this franchise made and i hope we get a good point guard or center next year in the draft because we have some great vets in that department and we need a PG of the future and having good centers is a key in winning championships. GO BLAZERS! 10 11 Champs

dude how can you even say that NO has no future, they just had the longest winning streak in the NBA at the start of the season, they have solid leaders in paul and west.
Ariza is a merc, but none the less he is a decent ball player. And a new coach?

I feel like, this is invalid. Because you point out that we have made bad decisions in the draft before, and then you hope that we draft a good pg or CENTER??
Andre miller (as much as i despise him) is a good player, Mills and Armon are both blooming with potential. But this team, doesnt work that way, how can they learn and develop if they never play?
I mean dre is already showing signs of dementia, he's lost it, look at him runnin a muck all over the place. Is he finna teach these PG's how to body slam the next rookie of the year?
And Centers are great to have, trust me, but in the west the most important postion is easily the PF. The west contains some of the most wicked PF in the league....
