Not bad for a defensive liability ehh.  Patty matches up well with the leagues shorter pg's and I'm confidant that he would embarrass a few of them for speed. Patty needs to keep a lid on his turnovers though, however the uptempo pace of the second unit will always create higher turnover ratio's.  I'd definitely give him player of the first half on stats alone, others may have more input to add about Patty's game .  I too am hoping KIM can provide some constructive thoughts on the matter that you have raised good fellow.  I'm printing that poster for you now KIMMY; it'll be a pic of one of Patty's 5 steals, I know you love your defenders KIM....:)

Patty played well against another mini. Enjoy it while you can. Talk to me when he plays that way against a playoff team. He is still a liability against teams we have to go through for rings, like OKC and Boston.

LMBAO Kim just as i supected. I dont think you would give Patty props if he shut Kobe and the whole lakers down by himself. Admit it Kim you like him. I got room on my band wagon, jump on ;P

Patty adds something more important than mere skills or height could provide. Soon the other teams will have him scouted and he'll have to adapt --but he'll still have that invisible intangible something.

I don't dislike Patty, IF he shut down Kobe, I would give props. I have no problem with him against non-playoff teams.I am just not ready to just concede this season.

What a difference a day makes. Without googles it appeared to me that Jason Terry was left WIDE OPEN for a 3.
Where was Wes $ ??  He had to guard Kidd.
Mills = defensive liabilty against a contender, who the Blazers will have to beat in a series for rings..
He could not defend Kidd or Terry tonight. I am the only one who see's that ?  To each his own.

    (Invisible intangible something).

Occassia what you are seeing in the way Patty moves on court, with speed and floor vision, plus the ability of somehow being involved in highlight reel type plays is not uncommon for us Aussie's.  However we see it more on the Aussie rules football field where there has been a trend in trying to find that next x-fator type Aboriginal athlete.  Aussie rules is a free flowing game that requires 360 degree awareness of where your players and opponents are and the Aboriginal players always seem to be one step ahead of everyone else and almost always involved in the plays of the week.  It is exciting to see Patty play at the NBA level as an Aboriginal Australian.  Aboriginal athletes make up such a small percentage of the top level Australian rules footballers, however they spoil us fans with that "invisible intangible something."  Patty reminds me of young aboriginal kid that plays on an opposing Aussie Rules team; the Hawthorn Hawks and his name is Cyrol Rioli - (The Magic Man)   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fT7sRpi1Xo  If Patty doesn't make it in the NBA, send him back Downunder so my team the Carlton Blues can sign him up, we'll even throw in a number 8 Guernsey.

Kim, you do understand tht when we play the lakers, Patty, as a pg, will guard one of their pg's, probably Brown or Blake, and either Nico or Wesley will guard Bryant. it's like comparing apples to oranges. as for the dallas game -- no one could guard Terry at that time; putting all that on Patty is just not accurate.

look, we know you would like to see Greg, Patty and Sean go elsewhere (we read that from you on pretty much every thread here). but this is the team we have and these are the players we have. i, for one, am pleased with Patty's progression this season and the fact of the matter is: Patty in the rotation gives us a better chance to win than Armon. that could change at one point, but for now, that's just how it is.

Bottom line, he's good, but not that good. I've always felt like the best defensive unit we could have on the floor at one time would be, AJ,Matthews, Batum, Camby, & Pryz. I would love to bottle up some of that tasmnian misfit juice that Captain Chaos Ruben Patterson used to drink before games, to give to our guys now.

Nice deflection, Kim. I find your "supposed" maturity level and your comments more annoying than the "younger" people's comments -- such disrespect. I guess you'll be telling me I'm a 30 something know it all now. No offense, but 12 or 50, you can still be a douche. Kassandra was commenting on something you said (obvious by her quoting you, then commenting), and your reply is what I call a good ol' political response back. Like I said, good deflection with a pile of crap for a response. I am not going to rag on your opinion (about Patty) like others obviously are, but just because you're "older and wiser" doesn't give you the right to cast aspersions on the younger folk for disagreeing with you. How about "agree to disagree"?

Patty definitely has a long way to go, but he has been good enough to give Dre a good blow. He needs to work on not getting out of control so much and being less predictable among other things. Now if we could only play the Rockets every other game for the rest of the season, that would be great.

im an older woman fan and try to be respectful kass is very knowledgeable and i respect her. i have learned a lot from her  that speaks volumes as i have been a basketball fan for over forty years.  as to patty he is great and im glad he has gotten his chance. he has paid his dues.  also king i agree with occassia you can have him back when hell freezes over.  he has shown what he can do.  wether armon will play later.  armon has great potential but like most rookies has to pay their dues and be ready when opportunity knocks.
wtg patty your doing a great job.  kim i have no idea who you are but i respect your opinion as it is your opinion and not mine. peace.

Anyone watching what could very well be the western conference finals right now with OKC and Dallas ?
Dallas' backcourt can be stopped when a pg can guard Kidd one on one, and you but length on Terry.

Kim please, hypocracy at your age? are you going to sit at your computer and claim that i am perpetuating any of that ... in about eight separate responses? mine was a simple post and you blew the whole thing out of proportion -- again -- with eight separate responses. you may be older and thanks for pointing that out, but apparently you lack maturity

chronological age has nothing to do with anything because, see, i have no control over when i was born. be that as it is, your direct insults are further proof of immaturity. as Teresa stated, you have a right to an opinion. the issue as i see it is that you want to pick and choose who else is allowed to theirs. that doesn't fly with me and i was not brought up to accept that. if i want to point out that in every thread on this board, you whine and complain about Sean, Patty or Greg, then am i not entitled to state my opinion on that? it works both ways and, if you were so much more intelligent as you claim, you would understand that in abundance.

i don't think i am intelligent. i know i am. lol that sounds conceited, but you don't have test scores and the list of academic accomplishments that i do without that being true. see, instead of complaining, i look into things, i research points i want to make, and i try to present them i a concise manner.

finally, in reference to the problems you and i have had in the past: that was a result of you allowing some other posters to be insulting (while claiming you didn't read them), and criticizing others for no apparent reason. it's called unbalanced moderation and at your age, i had assumed you would be more mature than that. but with the constant complaining, personal insults toward me and your immaturity, i don't much see you as credible anyway ... whatever age you happen to be.

hey guys, sorry for all that; my intention is not to clog.

as to Patty. he definitely made a lot of things happen last night at houston, and started the run when we were 13 down. his energy is contagious and, from what i've observed, he is the best teammate for which the guys could ask. i realize this thread was started after the first houston game, but i think the same case could be made for his role in the second houston game (though i'd still give player of the game honors there to LaMarcus).

But I agree Kassandra, Lamarcus was player of the last game against Houston, and a bunch more the last 2 weeks. I really am amazed at how far he has come this year. Lamarcus is becoming a man before our eyes! I just hope he can keep it up. And I hope Patty continues to get better.

lol.. i think through the neutral fans we tend to get responses that make a little more sense. They have no bias towards Patty or Armon, which makes their analysis more acceptable.

The fact is Patty has done much more postive things on and off the court than negative. Since his breakthrough game against the Suns people we're constantly telling me that once he gets scouted he will be ineffective. Week after week they would tell me this, often stating after one poor game "i told you so". It has now been over one month and correct me if im wrong, but he has been quite consistent, and recently he has been setting new career highs, which tells me that he is not only adapting, but improving. Amazing!

Remember, Nate is playing Patty not because he sees more potential in him than Armon, but because he is what is best for the team at this very moment. And the team is more important than any indivudal player.

In response to people saying he was chucking in the first game against Houston, well look at the 2nd game. 4/ 7 from the arc isn't chucking, thats 3pt accuracy. Keep proving them wrong Patty, like you have been since day one.

P.S. Remember Kwame Brown, 2001 number 1 overall draft pick. Jordan thought he 'potentially' could be one of the greats, because he was a tall kid, physically well-built, athletic and had alot of upside. All the things Kim associated with Armon.  Just saying...
