    Via Ken Berger-
Exploratory trade talks the Trail Blazers are involved in on multiple fronts hinge on what decision is made with regard to Brandon Roy's short- and long-term health. Team officials already have engaged in internal discussions about trading older players such as Marcus Camby, Andre Miller and Joel Przybilla. Such an avenue would seem to be more likely if it's decided that Roy will miss significantly more than the six games he just sat out due to a bone-on-bone condition in both knees. One scenario involved Miller going to the Bobcats, but those talks took place prior to Charlotte's recent coaching change. The Bobcats now are entering a new evaluation period under coach Paul Silas and have no current interest in straight salary-dump trades. "That's the furthest thing from the truth," one source said. "We want to do basketball deals if we can."

    * A person with knowledge of Camby's thinking confirmed a report that the 14-year veteran would indeed contemplate retirement if traded to a rebuilding team. Camby's overwhelming preference is to stay in Portland, and there is "no close second," the person said. But if a trade to a contending team in a city his family would be willing to relocate to were presented, Camby would be open to the idea. The Knicks, who from time to time have expressed interest in bringing Camby back to New York, are one team that would meet the 36-year-old's approval.

Kind of from the "No Duh" category, but interesting to talk about regardless. I guess the bigger question is, "When does the team decide on Roy?" or "What specific criteria does Roy have to meet in order to play?"

Only one, his play cannot be detrimental to the teams progress. If it becomes blatantly apparent that Roy cant keep up on fastbreaks, or consistently gets beat by his man on D,[true on both counts] than Brandon ends up being a liability on the floor. I love the boy, he's a flat out gamer, but he's not at 100%. He nor any other player is bigger than the game.
In regards to Camby,he's a keeper. He's a cerebral pivot and thats rare. His timing to the ball is third in ranking. The first being Bill Russell, and second, Dennis Rodman.

I really don't think we should trade Camby by any means. I know he's old, but we could use him the rest of his career.

Just saw a Tweet (15 min prior to me posting this) by Jay Allen that says a report on CBSSports that states both Roy and the team are thinking about shutting down Roy for rest of the year.

I am a fan of Beating the Lakers on opening night, Lillard being the next big thing and this season being successful!

parsons will stay in houston... and i guess you wouldnt be able to get all those just for vet mins...

I think there are easier and more realistic ways to improve our team.

I would trade our 10th pick + 2nd rounders + rights to Papapi...

Greg wants a fresh start. Portland wants a fresh start. And thank you, Siccolo, for comparing this to B Roy. Any draft prospect is going to be pretty impressed with what GO can do on the court... even a 75% GO. A kid that has no idea what NBA game...

To go another season with so many rookies is not a good idea. We need a couple of vets and atleast one young bench scorer. If we want a Center, go after Hawes from Philly and Dorrell wright can be signed as a free agent. We can trade our 2nd round...

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.

That roster looks pretty good, but if we would have enough cash Corey or Ronnie brewer would be nice
