The Trail Blazers enter the last week of 2010 with a brutal three-game stretch staring them directly in the eye. Up first, the pesky Utah Jazz, who, for whatever reason, have Portland's number. From 07-09, the Trail Blazers tied the Jazz twice and won the season series 3-1 once. But ever since the 09 season, Utah has reeled off 5 straight, even defeating Portland twice in the preseason. In fact, the last time Portland won in Utah was more than 3 years ago. Back on December 11th, 2007, without Aldridge, Portland got big contributions from Channing Frye and Martell Webster to knock off the Jazz, 97-89. If there is one arena which has constantly given Portland fits throughout history, it's Utah. All-Time, the Blazers are 15-61 against the Jazz away from the Rose City and have lost 11 of their last 12 tries in Utah.

We all know there will be no Roy and no Przybilla tonight, making the task that much more daunting, but no one expected us to beat them in 07 without LA, so you never know. Portland needs to be the aggressors tonight, because Utah goes nuts at home and goes hard to the basket at every opportunity. The Trail Blazers need to establish LA inside tonight against the smaller Millsap. Like Golden State, the biggest key is to keep LA out of foul trouble. He picked up two early fouls on Christmas and it took him completely out of his rhythm.

I am hoping we can come out of these winning and losing streaks tonight and change the pace for this season! It's always either 4 wins then 3 losses then 3 wins (you get the picture) lets come home with a WIN tonight. I know we are capable, Get that confidence up and let's go Blazers, shut them Jazz down!

I don't expect to win both remaining games on the road at Utah and at Denver, but it would be sweet if we could just survive and take one of these next two, we'll be in good shape for the long-run.

I agreed with what Rice said on Chalk Talk; we must keep the score low. The Jazz score buckets like no other at home and easy ones at that. We just need to limit those easy backdoor layups they like to do so often and run an attacking, ball movement offense. Run through LA, force the double team, then send cutters for points in the paint of trips to the foul line.

Utah executes their offense as good as anyone. That means Portland needs to execute and make their shots -- the way the Blazers have played this season, means a faster paced game seems to result in better offensive execution. If they slow it down and have to run a lot of half-court sets, then ring up another win for the Jazz.

We kept the score low like CF and Rice said and look what happened? I had a feeling mid-way through the 4th quarter that tonight was going to be our night. We were playing with a purpose and making it happen on both ends of the court. Either LA or Batum or Dante were blocking shots on defense and Matthews, Andre, Rudy, and LA were getting good looks on offense. LA will get the pub for his crazy stat line (26 & 7), Andre for his clutch free throws, and Rudy for his 2nd quarter spark, but I think it was Wesley's overall play that did it for us tonight. Whenever the clock was winding down he'd get to the bucket or find an open man. He always seemed to have those "must-have" plays to keep our momentum afloat. On to Denver!

The win in Utah tonight was a direct result of an opportunistic offense looking to get a high percentage shot with every possession.  The aggressive and attacking mentality necessary on the road earned this Blazers team a victory tonight.  Not only is this a more uptempo team, this is a Blazer team that seems to have put to bed the jumpshooting stigma previously attached.  Very refreshing.  Go Blazers!

Great WIN, with Roy resting it seems that the team find the way to play together with LA playing star and Batum, Mathews and Rudy on bench adding a lot of points and of course with our veterans Dre and Camby making good job. Team spirit keep them playing good defence and intelligent offense. Let's  Win next game in Denver and then once again Utah and we will have 3 in a row !
Anybody knows what is happen with Roy , he will play next game home ?

    Go Blazers !!!

Well, the lottery is tomorrow, so fingers crossed. What my issue is, is that why would the Bucks trade away one of their best players, and potential DPOY for many years to come, for Nic Batum and a bunch of picks in a weak draft?

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
