If you were to pick the 3 guys you think are untradable who are they and why? Here's mine:
    1. Aldridge- of the supposed big 3(Roy and Oden the other 2) he's been able to stay injury free. He's learning a lot from Camby as to how to be more effective in the post as seen in his last 4 games.
    2. Roy- a no-brainer for me. He's their all-star. What GM in their right mind moves their best player because of personal issues with another player (allegedly)? He's injured now, but he's hasn't reached his prime. When he heals up,I believe he'll be a better all-round player.
    3. Toss-up here- Matthews or Batum- Wes has stepped up since being inserted in the starting line-up. Nic has better all-around skills. Short term I give the edge to Wes; long term goes to Nic- he has great upside that could make him a top player in the league, but Wes is young and he's got the same potential.
These are my guys; tell me yours.

I read that and I don't think they should make the move; they still need these guys to rite the ship and besides, the team is starting to gel and play better now that the rough patch of their early schedule is almost gone.

Roy,Aldridge,Mathews.......... those are my 3, with Batum coming in close 4th.

Roy is still franchise player, and 1 bump in the road is not enough to for me to want a trade, I want to see this season play out first and see what really happens, than listen to uneducated fans making random suggestions.

LA has been a injury free 18 ppg 8-9 rpg pf for us the past 4 seasons, and is getting MUCH better before our eyes.

Mathews brings alot of energy to this team and is playing very well in his 2nd nba season.

Everyone else is up for trading IF we can get the right players. Specialy Batum and Miller, you better get good talent in return for these guys or its not worth it.

    1. Miller: The absolute most under estimated player on the Blazers. He's great, consistant, knows when it's time to step it up, smart player, and just loves the game of basketball.
    2. Canby: Great defensive player, pretty damn consistant for a center as far as being able to be there for the team is concerned, and is a great guy to get the team pumped up.
    3. Aldridge: Hello? He's been scoring at least 20 pts a game for almost 2 weeks! I've always seen big things out of LaMarcus and I'm glad he's finally finding his groove and making stuff happen. He could really be a key element into getting the Blazers into the play-offs this year.

Those are my top 3 but other I would hate to see go are:
    1. Wesley Mathews: He's been great to Portland since he got here and especially since he got into a starter position. My only problem is, if he goes in now, where does that leave Nicolas Batum who also does better as a starter?
    2. Nicolas Batum: I know he has not been at the very top of his game latly but he finds his groove and can get going and make some good plays for Portland. He is a good all around player that just needs to work on consistancy.
    3. Patty Mills: He was a rookie last year and I always got excited when Patty came onto the court because I knew that meant we were kicking some butt! But this year Patty came out and is playing some major basketball. He's a huge motivator for the team (which is needed more now that Pendergraph is gone :( ). Is he an All Star? No definatly not. But he's made so much progress in one year, and I'm really excited to see what he will do in the future and for now he's a great bench player for fast pased games.

As for Brandon Roy. I honesly wouldn't mind that much of we traded him. This knee problem is not going away. Wether he's the face of the Blazers or not, consistancy is something we really need to build on this team and we're not gonna get that with b-Roy. He's gonna have to keep taking 2-4 game breaks so he can heal. I think if we could get someone in there to be consistant and make 15-20 points a game like Brandon was, we would be set. Do I think that's going to be easy? No, but we would finally have our dream team if we could find that. I do have to say though, this Roy injury is not all bad. It tought our team to not rely on Brandon for those 20 points. Aldridge, Miller, Patty, Mathews and so many more player stepped it up because they knew the team needed it. I think that showes the true signe of a team that just wants to play some good hard basketball.
So you can argue my theories if you want, but in reality, you know I'm right ;)

    2. Wesley - Second year in the league and scoring 20 ppg as a starter, no where near his prime.

    Aldridge, Roy, Mathews, and Oden.

Aldridge because I think he's just now getting into his prime, and I love what we're seeing.

Roy because he's the brains of the operation when he's not frustrated.  The dude might not go back to explosiveness, but he's developing mentally faster than anyone I've seen at the age of 26.  And I also don't think he's hit his prime yet.  He may not be the explosive player anymore, but the dude is clutch, and will hit the shots we need.  You don't see Kobe doing what he did at a young age, but the guys one of the best outside shooters in the league.  Roy could become someone like that.  Image a Kobe Bryant on the Blazers that's not a douche bag (sorry if that is offensive to anyone).

Mathews...  As TJ31 kist saod/  2nd year scoring 20ppg and isn't even near his prime yet.  The dude has the ability to be better than Brandon.  No question the 30m is worth it.

Oden because he's the key to our championship.  In 2008-2009 we were at our best, had 54 wins with Oden only playing 61 games. We had a great shot at beating the favorites that year (Houston) but the refs screwed us over.  Yes he is injury prone, but micro fracture surgery doesn't make things worse.  I have a strong feeling we need to keep Oden and he will play at least 60 games next season and will play in the playoffs getting us past the first round AT LEAST.

Not 20ppg, more like 15 bro, big difference, his 3pt % has gone up but he has also almost taken more 3's this season than his last, and we are not half way through. WM has a three ball, but so does Roy, he is what 2nd in all 3's stats for this team, and no meniscus.
WM stats are not super different than last year, he is just more active, more minutes.

I wouldnt say Oden at all because really what has that guy done to help this team, because...... we still havent won anything.
He is just sucking money out of the RG.
Roy- out of respect first off, i mean we traded for this guy in a STEAL! Foye for Roy, OMG! and we asked him to play hard, and consistent, and he did.
And in doing so he became the franchise player. he is this team, this team is Roy. It just needs the right pieces.
Aldridge, because, other than not being an all star yet, what hasnt gone this guys way? He is dependable, and is probably , statistically the only player keeping this team alive. Like without Aldridge this season, we would easily be the worst team in the nba, and there is no question about that.
He is pulling a B Griffin.
3rd player, well no one has ever really stepped up to this position, whether it being the type of players we have, or Nate's restrictions, but no one has ever been a 3rd dominant player, Oden? No, what? He has barley tasted the game. Batum? I mean i guess, but by choice, i wouldnt put him as this teams 3rd guy because he is limited with his skills.
We know he can score like a true SF, a LBJ or Mello, the dude can fly, but why doesn't he?
Wes Math? i mean, who the heck is this guy? doesn't he play for Utah? I mean he is helping out but, thats what he was hired to do, he could be the 3rd due to his consistency.
Miller? Miller is the best player this team has in transition, and when in transition, the whole team works better because of him. But, his decision making abilities are questionable, his age is becoming more apparent, and he can be reckless. wild card.

I only have two, so we could make a trade, and get our 3rd guy, or someone can step it up, and play like a champ.

LA, Wes, and Roy. I only choose roy because of what has been done for us and i think that if roy gets a little patience in returning and learns to adjust his game a little i think he can still be very valuable. probably not as valuable as he used to but still.

People act like Roy is damaged goods.  The man can still put up 20 a night if his shot is falling.  The only thing he really lost is his jab step and drive, which he can still do and has proved it.  It's just a shame his last games he played were days where his shots weren't falling.  They were great looks, shots he normally has fall down, but he in no way is a bad player.  Probably not someone you'd sign for 82 million, but give him time, he could potentially return to the ASG.

    Roy, Aldridge, and Wesley.

I also feel we need just one more player in order to truly have the proper foundations. That may or may not be Batum and it may or may not be Oden. Whoever it is, we will also need a very good 6th man. This all refers to to championship hopes of course.

Roy - He will develop his game into what will make him most effective, and I think he has a good shot at become the spot-up shooter the Blazers need

Aldridge - He's not "going back in the box" and the BEAST MODE LMA we have been seeing is here to stay. You just don't trade that, not if you want to "rebuild" or "refashion"

Matthews - The guys works harder than anybody, brings a ton to the table, and is only in his 2nd year. He works well with just about anybody. Way too valuable to trade.

I think the rumor that the organization still considers Nico untouchable is unrealistic and I am not sure I understand where they are coming from, if the rumor is true.

While I value Miller, Camby, and Joel, the fact is they are probably too far along in their careers to help us get to the Finals. Keeping one of them (for me, that would be Camby) would be great, but if they all have to go in order to bring in younger pieces that will compliment the core, than so be it. Also, we are still possibly without that 4th "pillar" of our foundation.

    I keep:
LaMarcus 25- Improving each day with experience & tutoring
Wesley 24- Quick & good height
Nicolus 22- So young, with a little help-imagine him with a mid range jump shot.
I love Brandon & he deserves $ & support, But, how awful- 2 bad knees!!!!

my three untouchables and i so disagree with blazerfan77
     1) lamarcus  keep him he is playing some of his best ball we need a strong power forward and he has managed to stay injury free.

2/ defintely not roy why he should be traded his knees are toast and everyone knows it i love roy but time to move on...i say nicolas batum...he is doing great and is still developing but will get better we need the big men..
    3) wesley matthews he is playing great ball  toss up with rudy as he is playing some of his best ball in a long time...

well, right now the obvious one is LaMarcus and what i'm seeing is a lot of support for Wesley and Brandon.

    my untradeable:

    1. LaMarcus. he's hitting his prime and he's hitting it in stride. he's proven this season that he has an inside game, as well as an outside game.

    2. Brandon. yes, he's injured and it's a chronic condition. however, Chris Paul is in the same boat and has learned to play with little-to-no meniscus in his knees. Brandon is intelligent and can learn it as well.

    3. Nicolas. the huge upside is daunting and all he really needs to do is develop his consistency. seriously though, you can't argue with the fact he had 18 points and 10 rebounds against the warriors last night.

i'd rather not trade, but it's probably inevitable:

Wesley. (i like his effort, but he can be a bit inconsistent at times. it bothers me that he didn't earn his starting spot; he just sucked coming off the bench); Joel (he's not injury prone, and he can make an impact as a backup center, though Nate seems to have some trepidation at playing him more than 8-10 minutes a game; Patty (the improvement he's shown has been impressive, he pushes the ball better than any of our other pg's, and he is the biggest motivator and positive influence on his teammates we have). Dante (intelligent, and in the right system, could do much more); Elliot (though i haven't seen what exactly he can do, the early returns are exciting).

Luke (likeable guy, but i'm still wondering why we gave up Martell for him); Armon (it would probably be better for him to go to another team since Patty is our backup pgotf); Sean (i like what he's done for us, but this should be obvious); Greg (not to sound cruel, but i'm done waiting, and he needs a fresh start); Rudy (i hate to say this since he and Patty get along so well, but he ideally needs to go to a system where he's the starter. besides, he is currently raising his trade value); Marcus (i'd hate to be on the short end of that trade, but it wouldn't hurt to get younger at the position); Andre (as with Marcus, i'd hate to be on the short end, or trade either just to trade them, but he still has good value).
