    Who goes first?
    Brandon Roy (14)
     42%
    Andre Miller (19)
     58%
For a minute, let's assume the speculation is true and Brandon gave management an ultimatum - trade Andre or I want out. Fans, who do we side with? Roy has done more for this franchise than anyone could have envisioned 4 years ago when we drafted him out of Washington, but right now he's extremely injured and frankly, I don't like people making demands, esp at the expense of Andre, who i consider to be a team leader.

Now I don't think these rumors are true, but you can never play the "What if?" game enough as a Trail Blazers fan.  For me, I'd roll with Dre on this one. He's a warrior who kept his head held high through the Blake fiasco last year, was our TEAM MVP in 2010, and still playing at a great level despite his age.

Can a mod make this into a poll for me please?

I wouldn't trade him, just for the reason he might be able to get through all of this and make us regret the trade.

Forgot to clarify who I was talking about, and that would be roy.
I'd trade miller if I had to choose.

Id say Miller goes first.  Roy is still the face of this franchise, and Andre is like 36 years old.  We cannot have a vet be our face of the Franchise.  Also, isn't he a free agent this off-season or has an expiring contract?

Well, I think it's obvious the franchise, if Roy did make such a demand (which I doubt, since his leverage is about nil), are not in a position to trade Roy, while Dre has a very valuable expiring contract and is a solid, smart, savvy PG. If one of them HAD to go (for whatever reason), I am pretty sure it would be Dre that was traded.

My personal preference would be to keep Roy. Miller is an excellent player, very smart, very skilled, and a true iron man. I have never believed he was the right fit here though, and I do think his inability to spread the floor (along with others) is hindering Roy's game and making his knee issues look even worse. I don't know if BRoy will ever recover close to his previous form, or if he will indeed be able to shift his game into a different mode, but I believe one or the other is within Brandon's capabilities. For that reason, and in consideration of what BRoy has already contributed, he seems the clear choice to me. It's not just Dre's age, since I think he could probably play another 5 years at this level. It's more that the PG spot is not the key to success for this team, while having another reliable scorer probably is.

haha, I thought the question was who would we keep, so i clicked roy, instead of miller. my bad. Anyways, although I'm not too excited about Roy's play right now, and i'm still not sure if he'll ever be able to really help us, I think we need to let him get as much rest as he needs and see if he can step up for us over the next 4 years. Miller could leave after this year anyways

Brandon Roy has no cartilage in his knees.  Cartilage does not grow back.  His knee situation is never going to improve no matter how much time he takes off.  It's the truth.  What we got is what we going to get.

    Bertrams got it....
But this, Mr Callas, is just cruel, to turn your back on brandon roy, a guy who has been able to be there and play when he is hurt. and now its just, Throw him to the curb?
I mean how do you feel about oden,  do you want oden to stay with the blazers?

i'd say keep roy because andre is older and would be a better trading piece with his expiring contract. i think trading brandon would be hitting the panic button

TayC- The comment I made was in reference to people saying that maybe Roy is going to get better, and my point is, his knees are not going to get better, and we should expect him to give the team what he is giving now.  You do bring up a very valid point on turning your back on him, but it's not like he would ever be "thrown to the curb" with the contract he has.  That guy is taken care of no matter what happens with the Blazers.  Good thing for him he's not playing in the NFL, or he would just get cut at some point.

No his knees aren't going to get better. But he had 2 great seasons on that left knee that's bothering him now. That knee had surgery 2 years ago before the season started. Last year was his right knee.

TayC-  Didn't get to your Oden question.  (Girlfriend was busting my balls to get off the net at the time).  The Oden situation is different for me because there is a possibility that Oden fully recovers and could potentially still be a great player.  His injuries might not be permanent.  Roy's injuries are permanent.  Maybe Betram is right, maybe Roy's right knee still has some cartilage in it, and he can recover and play like he did 2 seasons ago.  I hope Roy does recover, although I do have a problem with him saying Miller needs to go (if it's true).  Are people not seeing how well he facilitates the offense, how effective of a passer he is, and what a threat he is as a passer and a scorer when he's in the low post.  Why is Roy throwing him under the bus, if he is, it's a bunch of BS and enough for me to not want Roy on this team anymore.  Miller is no way a part of the problem this team has, and if Roy is pointing fingers at Miller, than I have to start thinking that Roy is trying to divert our finger pointing from him.

    Hahah, word.
And i can feel you on that. If Roy was saying that stuff, just almost to spite him, then yeah that would be a show of character on Broys part. But in all honesty, Brandon Roy has the reputation of being probably the most Humble Down to Earth player in the NBA, and has been for a few years. So thats just not his MO. And then you think , well what has Miller done to support that evidence? Since Bayless has been taken out of the picture, Andre has been alot more active, but what i have seen is poor shot selection. In the past few games ive seen, i got miler running up the court waiting for everyone to get into position, and then there he goes driving inside, taking a shot whilst he draws an extra defender, the shot goes IN! Im like WOW! The shots that he has been making, shouldnt be going in, but they are, the shots hes been taking, shouldnt be contested, but they are. you know, its a win lose situation when i notice that.
Then there is the Blake Griffin mishap, the ball being thrown, i mean hasnt this dude already lost 50k this year? hahah like why is he doing that?
Back to the point, i dont know what his deal is, but that could totally be a reason for
Roy  to complain, because i dont even want dre on the team because of this.
I have been known to not like Dre, but he has been valuable to us untill now, when he puts himself before the team, well no guard is that special.....

As for Oden, if he bounces back and heals up, and we still have him, GAME OVER, we have got that on LOCK.

But he doesnt get better, and we stick with him, we dont make a move in the off season like this year because we think he is gonna come back, its over for us, next year will be gone before it even starts.
Its like a 50 50, but once you make up your mind, and just consider him totally gone, never coming back, its easier to think about other issues, because hey, if he does comeback then, super stoked hahah.

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
