Hahaha I agree. I badly want the Heat to beat the Lakers.  Wonder what it will take for people to finally wake up and realize LeBron is a far superior player than Kobe ever was and ever will be.

Nice to see Roy in the lead though.  Dang, I miss him.

Screw both of those guys. I want Lamarcus or Dre to do it Dec 25th 2010. What kind of Blazer fans are you guys anyway?

Also Lebrine may have more overall talent than Kobe, but Kobe does not choke in the playoffs in must win games.

Uh, I'm a hardcore Blazer fan.  But I'm a fan of the sport above all else.  I talk lots of basketball everywhere I can, and I absolutely can't stand the cockiness of idiotic Laker fans.  It's the only real reason I like LeBron.  Everytime he wins a game, they cry.   Look at them last season when they threw stuff on the court and blamed officials.  They are so ignorant and arrogant about LeBron being better than Kobe that they absolutely cannot stand the fact so they make every pathetic excuse in the book.

They root for Boston before they root for LeBron.  Shows their fear.

However, I'd MUCH rather have a balanced scoring team that doesn't care about highlights than one player dominating the game.  In last nights game, LMA had 29-19.  We scored like, what was it?  106 points?  That's team effort.  LMA had a big night, but the team played great and won the way they should have won.

Against Denver, it was the same way, which makes Roy's highlights so impressive.  He had 41 pts, against some good defenders, after coming back from injury and everyone on the Blazers roster played as a team. That is when the Blazers are at their best and can compete in this league and make the WCF even with Roy and Oden having injuries.

Kobe is better. Can't give LeBron that title until he wins a few rings... and with that team he has now... there's no excuse not to. The east isn't that strong so they should have a pretty good shot the next couple years to come out of that conference to the finals.  Kobe has had a better career so far, so that's why I give it to him. No disrespect at all to Tay and Herr's favorite player lol.

And Tom, we're still all Blazer fan's they were just pointing out that they like players on other teams, and that's totally okay.

But Tay and Herr, I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron does drop like 50 on Christmas, because he does seem to play much better in regular season games under pressure or under the spotlight (playoffs, hmm....) but Kobe can do the same.

Sorry, kinda on a rant, but as a basketball fan this may be my most exciting debate with family and friends, is, who will be the better player at the end of both of their respective careers? Kobe or LeBron? I say Kobe, but I can definitely see why people would say the opposite.

Again, kind of a rant haha

    Peace guys.

yeah tom,idk if you got the memo, but your not only restricted to liking one team.
He may not choke in the playoffs, but he sure as heck chokes around the ladies......

But if you honestly want to bring that up Blazersforlife, that makes no sense, there is no validity in saying " A player with Rings makes them better than those without."
Because you cant just limit that argument to just Bron and Kobe either, because then you are saying players like Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Iggy, Caron Butler, Gilber Areneas, Yao, Tmac, you are saying that those players are not as good as someone like Jordan Farmar, or Antonio Mcdyess, Rip Hamilton because those players have won a ring.

Like im so tired of that being the only excuse people have over who is better, Bron or Kobe.
Kobe is a total shooter, and Lebron would much rather drive or dunk, they are both as good, they are just better in certain areas, but if i had to make a choice, of who is better as an individual, then its Kobe.
Kobe has no problem taking 48 shots a night, for only 12% accuracy, and still feel fine.
You put LeBron alone, all he can do is try to create for himself, his jumper- not %100, and its been aparent since he became the YOUNGEST PERSON TO AVERAGE A TRIPLE DUB, that he works better with teamates.
Like what have Brons Stats been all about, assists and rebounds, and Kobe is more point associated, not to mention most field goal attempts.

Like they both have the ability to throw up 50 on christmas, but what has lebron been able to do his entire career? something he has never ceased to do?

And that is steal the air right out of your lungs, he has constantly taken our breath away by rising to a new level, above the hype and all about the game, from kobe, we almost expect him to get 30 a night, and when he doesnt, it reminds everyone he is only human.

Tay, not saying that rings are the only reason Kobe is better. It's just one of them, and you're right, you can't judge a player on rings alone or else Mbenga would be a superstar in this generation.  But I have my opinion about Kobe, and he pasts my eye test and I like his game more than LeBron's. They're obviously both great players. But I could go on and on about kobe, I just won't do it here

King's performance was definately the best individual performance of the top 5 but the team lost and that's wahat I based my vote on team win and Roy's performance helped his team win over a divisional rival.

Eh, let's agree to disagree, but here's my reasonings.  I'd like to mention that you only said that Kobe is better because of rings... well... I disagree.

First, the Lakers have 5 players on the All-Star ballot.  When you look at their roster and compare it to anything that LeBron has ever had (even with D-Wade and Bosh), the Lakers are the better team, and have more talent.  Of the top 3 (LeBron, Kobe, and Wade), Kobe has the better supporting cast.  It doesn't take a genius to see that the Heat's supporting cast sucks outside the big 3.  Now let's look at Cleveland, who just ended a 10 game LOSING streak.  The only difference is having no Shaq and no Lebron.  Shaq wasn't a big part of that Cleveland team (he should have been a much bigger part, but there's a reason Brown was fired).  It was all LeBron.  He took that team to 60+ wins multiple times.  Kobe, with his stacked Laker team, never did that.

Now about your comment of the East not being strong.  Doesn't matter how 13 of the 15 teams play, but the Celtics are the most stacked, deepest, talented, and overall BEST team in the league.  Doesn't matter if the Heat are better than 13 other teams in the conference, we all know it's going to be Heat vs Celtics, and the Celtics being the best team in the league are looking like they're going for the Championship once again.  If you ask me, veteran superstars tend to do better as veterans than they do in their primes as far as winning games goes.  The west may have better records overall than the East, but no team in the West can really touch Boston.  Not even the Lakers if you ask me (heck, if you ask me, that finals series was rigged to 7 games and the refs started calling fouls all the time handing the Lakers the championship).  So, no, the East isn't strong... it's VERY strong.  All because of the Celtics.

Kobe has had a better career?  Of course he has.  He's been in the league nearly twice as long as LeBron has.  He's had tons of teammates with him that, had they not been there, he would never HAVE a ring.  The Lakers weren't good until Pau Gasol got there, and Kobe couldn't take the Lakers to the Finals.  LeBron did btw.  As far as having better careers, anyone that has two rings has had a better career than LeBron.  Players with the same attitude as Kobe and LeBron (wanting to win it all) are in this business to win it all.  They have their career to win it all.  So, Kobe has had the better career.  But does that make him the better player?  Absolutely not.

Yes, Kobe could score 50 as well as LeBron.  But, by the time Kobe scores 50,  LeBron has a 30-10-10 game going on, something Kobe cannot do.  As I said, Kobe has been in the league twice as long, but has twice as less triple doubles that LeBron has (36 to 17).  Kobe also leads the league in missed field goals.  Kobe might be a better jump shooter,  but overall efficiency goes to LeBron James.  He's already had 2 on the Miami Heat while competing for stats with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. (he also was the youngest player to achieve a triple double... and it was against our Blazers).

Just my opinion, there is no question LeBron is better than Kobe.  He also has two MvPs while arguably CP3 was robbed by Kobe when Kobe got his.

So, any reasons why you think Kobe is better besides ring count?

Like I just posted, rings aren't the only thing that count haha.  I was acknowledging that Kobe has had a better career thus far, and yeah duh, cuz he's played longer lol. I'm saying that Kobe is better for me because of his longer career. If LeBron has played as long as Kobe has in the future, would he get the title of best player if he does more than Kobe? Absolutely.  But GREAT players play in big games and find ways to win them, LeBron hasn't done that. I don't care what argument there is. He hasn't won a championship. Period. Now, is he more talented as an individual player? Sure. But talent isn't all that makes a great player.  The whole argument about "Oh, Kobe had to have teammates to win him a ring no fair!" That's a bunch of crap. If LeBron doesn't win a ring this year... omg I won't be able to throw that argument back in soo many people's faces lol.  Yeah, Kobe had good teammates, SO DID EVERYONE that won a championship haha.
Kobe just passes the eye test to me, like I said to Tay. This is a tough argument onine cuz I don't like posting really long posts haha, but Kobe just plays in a way that I respect. Does LeBron? Hell yeah he's a freak athlete and can do whatever he wants out there. I just think that because Kobe has played so much longer, he has to get the nod for the better player as of right now. I'm not saying at this point in time he's more talented, please don't get me wrong. I'm saying that if I had to vote for the better player in their respective careers, I say Kobe. No disrespect.
Those are my reasons, there's actually a really good different argument. Is Kobe better than MJ? Everyone wil say hell no right off the bat... but one of my friends from L.A. showed me a link, I'll post it if I can find it, about that debate and shows a lot of different interesting stats that one wouldn't really think of.
    Anyways... lol.

hahaha, thats what i like about it, they are different to everyone.
its how you see the, perceive them.....
Its great that two guys can be seen so differently. nice.
Bron needs 20 pts to get 16,000
    4 steals for 1000
    5 blocks for 500
    I bet hell do it.
