If this happens I would think we need to make another trade right away to bring in a starting pg. I would hate to see Dre go, but would be rooting for the Magic in the East.

That trade makes no sense unless we plan on moving Joel or Camby.

Which it seems we are likely to do. If we could get Gortat, It would give us a true inside presence. I like it

I just think we would let Marks go, and can't Gortat play a little backup pf? So we would have Camby and Gortat who could backup Lamarcus and play Center with Joel. But it still leaves our starting pg position dry.

Or we could trade Joel to New York and receive Toney Douglas or maybe if we also give up Rudy or AJ or Patty or another guard we could get Raymond Felton. That is if we get Gortat.

Gortat is overated in my opinion.  Also we need a big man who can score, we already have Pryzbilla and Camby to block shots and play good d.  I dont really think this move makes sense for us since Pryzbilla does most of the same stuff as Gortat.

Yeah I think Gortat may have a tiny bit more skill offensively than Joel, but not enough to give Dre away like that. Luckily it sounds like the Magic are more interested in Arenas. But seriously, if we traded Andre when he as been the most consistent player on our team the last two seasons and the ONLY one to play every game until the suspension, I will be upset unless we are bringing in someone like Deron Williams, which isn't going to happen.

I don't understand you guys nixing this idea. We have been crying all season for a inside presence with the potential to score and draw the defense inside, take away the double from L.A., open up the outside shooting by having two legit inside scoring potentials and having a future center back up for that position . Joel can back up gortat or camby and we can stay big on our frontline.
Gortat is good and well coached learning for Patrick Ewing and Howard. I have watched him and he has energy and that grit we need down low.

We all know we aren't going that deep in the playoffs and Miller isn't going to perform any miracles here, so why not let our young P.G. learn and run things for awhile.I think we look better with mills out there anyway. Roy hates miller and we are going to side with Roy. Millers contract is up and we are sure he isn't our future point. We should snatch Gortat up it helps long term and short term. Cho you should be commended if you can get Miller out of here for a player like Gortat the Polish "tatter tot."
But I'm Polish so I might be reallllllllllly biased!!!!

I am Polish too, it will be nice to have Gortat in Portland :-) , but it seems that this trade is impossible, Orlando want Arenas mostly But when it happen  I will be very happy. Gortat has a lot of passion, wants to work hard and also he is healthful . When we trade Dre who will be PG: Patty, Armon or ROY ? we need really good PG when we want to play for title !!!

    GO BLAZERS !!!

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
