Maybe Nate McMillan should let Batum start in place of Roy to see if it will help their chemistry! For one game have Miller pg, Matthews sg , Batum sf, Aldridge pf, Camby c. ONE GAME is all i ask. GO BLAZERS! 10 11 Champs

I think we should rest Brandon for a while. Get re-evaluated and take precautions. Don't let Roy decide what's best for him, let the doctors decide.

    I agree with Bertram 100%
But unfortunately our team doctors are company men. For example, like when they told Rudy to go take Yoga, acupuncture, and candlelit hypnotherapy sessions to cure his back pain, when all the while he needed surgery to remove a bone chip in his back. That's bad, I mean that's just plain old bad health physicians right there.

The doctors have given their full evaluation already. Roy can obviously still play, but not at his optimum. Each game that passes by, its seems he gets a step slower, and his fg% has dropped well below his career average.

It seems that Nate is not coddling Roy as much anymore - finally! This was evident in the Dallas game were Roy was benched for much longer periods than previously.

He can still be effective, providing assists and being a spot shooter, however the days of contributing like he did when he was all star caliber, have long gone.

I seriously don't think those days are gone for good, there is still that chance he can make a D-Wade leap as I call it now. Like I been saying, in the 06 season D-Wade found himself in a similar position as Roy is in now; fans and media doubting him, not being able to do things he used to, and just being frail. The following season, MVP talks.

I think he can make more of a Grant hill come back.. he just has to adjust his game to his limitations. Whether he can be an all-star again.. its hard to fathom considering his injury seems much more debilitating than D-wades. I'm no doctor, but from what i hear, playing him for extended minutes for years to come, will only do him worse. I hope he proves me wrong, because he was my fav. player to watch.

Is there a surgery that can correct his knees, and if so why haven't we had him taken care of?
  1. Posted 12/17/2010 7:48 AM

He has no meniscus, you can't do surgery on something that isn't there.

I seem to remember someone starting a thread not too long ago, suggesting Roy come off the bench, starting Batum and increasing Rudy's minutes.  That thread was shot down by nearly everyone posting on it.  Interesting how often foresight is viewed as lunacy.

Well i don't want Rudy's minutes to increase i want batum's to increase and i want Roy to get the rest he needs to get his knees as close to 100% as they can. Plus i want it for ONE game to see if it would help the chemistry of the team. Roy being on the court helps with just his presents. If he came on with the second string it could help them since our bench production is terrible.
