Most NBA players want to play and will say they are ready even if they are not.  I think that management needs to take a hard look at B Roy and decide if risking your franchise player is worth one season when you certainly have serviceable back ups.  If I were Cho, I would do one of two things.

    1.  Trade, make a move that will get you over the top, that means moving one or more of your back court pieces that don't mesh well.  Either having Roy come off the bench until he is 100% healthy.

    2.  Which makes more sense to me.  Sit Roy, you just signed him to a long term contract, are you really willing to risk injuring him more?  Don't let Roy do to himself what T mac did, continue to bring yourself back to early, sit him for the better part of the season work on his conditioning and resting up until he is 100% and I mean really 100%.  You got a several serviceable pieces to back him up in Wes Mathews and Fernadez.
    You would have
    SG-Wes Mathews
    SF- Nick Batum
    PF- LA

I don't understand why we continue play Roy when its obvious that he isn't 100% healthy.  Last couple seasons its nagging injuries that are keeping him out, lets LET HIM HEAL.  As long as it takes if its a whole season, whatever.

Blazers are blessed to have a deep, deep team.  Lets use our depth to let Roy heal up, see specialist, therapist, and let our young guys, Fernadez, Batum, WM, Armon, and Mills develop into the kind of players that can really help us.

I hate to say it for Brandon's sake but I agree with you about benching him.  Indeed it may be better for him in the long run, he's still young and can come back to his former self or "adjust" to his new role.  He has done so much for this team and given up a lot (imo) to stay with portland and I would love for the fans and mgmt to extend him the same courtesy.  he's earned our support.  not that he would ask for it or use injury as a cop out.  i don't see Brandon removing himself from the lineup, that's a coach/owner decision.  and he would not be happy with it i am sure but right now i think it's best.  our bench is struggling but sometimes you have to just keep shooting until it drops (i'm thinking of Rudy specifically, but the others in general).  Give these guys more time and more responsibility.
I think you are right cristi about a lot of this is mental too.  With each and every one of them.  I guess it's contagious?  We got Joel back and that's great but it brings about another adjustment, guys playing with new teammates (Wes, Sean Marks, Armon, etc) and lately a lot of the time they just look lost out there.  They need an on the court leader (which can be more than one guy, diff guy in diff games idk) and some serious rebuilding from the coach.  I liked how Armon pointed out in an interview that they dont have much practice time with so many back to backs and road travelling.  From Blazer people we hear that practices are going well though.  SO for whatever reason the pieces are not geling or falling into place.  I think it'll take time.  We'll have spurts of great play (PHX games the team looks completely diff) and bad stretches.  I liked the fight I saw in LA against Dallas, Marcus against Griz.  This team is talented and i will continue to cheer for them!!  GO BLAZERS!

He needs a few nights off.  He's NEVER going to be 100%, but when you're shooting like 10% in the past 3 games, he's obviously frustrated and not focused.  Give him like 5 days off, or the whole season off.  Whichever one.

That was not mental. You could see him moving weird, not fully extending when he had the ball and barely running fast. When it was obvious he was trying to run fast, he looked really gimpy. I think they need to sit him and let him do some strength training on specific muscles that are going to help him compensate and live with his bad knees, otherwise he looks like he is only going to last maybe one more year in the NBA, which is sad.

Roy isn't just gonna heal, he has a permanent problem.  He's gonna have to have lots of rest just to be ok to play in an NBA game.  This team needs to rebuild around another player.  We need to develop our young players, and continue to bring in young players to see if they can help this team.
P.S.--- do all you guys still say Roy is better than Durant? haha

For the mental health of Blazer nation, we need to move past worrying about Roy and Odens knees, and support the guys we have who are playing their tails off.

Until the stubborn coach decides he does make the decisions on #7's minutes,  nothing will change.

dont be silly. everyone said comming out of the draft durant would probally turn into the better player than oden.
but oden was a 7ft athletic freak. that had to be taken as the #1 pick because of his size. post men like that dont come around often.

    heck howard/griffin/bynum/oden since garnett/webber/shaq/duncan?

You should so apply for the coaching spot Kim since you know the players oh so well.

I don't believe the coaching spot is open, or will be anytime soon. Bertram, how else do explain Roy continuing to play heavy minutes when the entire world can see he is not himself ??  He says he can, Nate lets him. Nuff said my friend.

Roy didn't even play heavy minutes last night. Seemed like he barely even played in the 4th too.
