If we are going to rebuild
Could we unload L.A. to clear cap space?
    No one will take Roy,
but since L.A. is healthy and has a pretty good reputation around the league,
could we unload him with his huge contract?
Or does he figure into a rebuilding phase?
If he can be traded what teams could you see him going to?

    LA is not the problem.....
Bringing in a new player is not the answer, imo, when you have a coach that is too stubborn to admit when he makes a mistake, and an all-star that does not seem to gel with any new player brought in, in a timely manner.
Roy and LA did not get along well their rookie year.
Roy and Dre didnt hit it off last year.
Now Roy is not Roy. Knees or ego with WM stealing the thunder ?
Who is the common factor all 3 years ? Just a thought.
Excuses only go so far. I can't speak for what men do to bond, but Nate and Roy need to do it, and get on the same page. The rest of the team isnt sure what they are supposed to do, and it shows.
Man up, and get it together for the entire team that looks to you for leadership already !!

If we were to throw in the flag, then yeah LA would be a huge target for other teams. No one wants to take Roy at this point and this team (whether you like it or not) needs to be built around Roy's strengths and weaknesses.

Why trade the best thing going for your team?
He knows the team, the offense, the D, the fans, his establishments in Por.
He clearly is the only one doing his job each night.
He works hard, and is constantly improving little bits each day.

You want someone to trade for a nice new shiny watch, beef up Matthews some more, build him into something bigger than he is, then trade him.....
You might get a bench..... or start one....

Although, he is becoming a reliable player.....

    If we traded L.A.

    We'd probably lose every day

The question was IF we are going to blow this team up and rebuild, would L.A. be a movable piece. 75 million is a big chunk of change for a player who is pretty much a  18 point a night jump shooting power forward. We obviously aren't going to build the team around him and therefore he is just a complimentary player who is making franchise player money but is not delivering franchise player numbers.
Yeah, we would lose a lot of games, but so what if we are rebuilding and if we traded him we might get two W. M. type players for the same price.

yeah, I know what you mean!
It would be awesome if we could expect him to be as good as he is.
Damn, I loved the inside game I saw from him tonight.
He had that look, like no one could stop him.
I hope it clicked for him, where he told himself I can be an allstar and one of the best PF in the league!!!
No, I wouldn't trade Him either after tonight - definitely a piece to build around.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
