Not only is Portland on the second half of a back to back, but Boston is well. While Boston has the best record out East, they are prone to overlooking "lesser" opponents. While its tough to think of the Trail Blazers as a weaker opponent, we are banged up and struggling, so it is what it is.

Joel could come back tonight, but would it be enough? Personally, I think we could use any positive emotional lift possible.

It is still questionable if Roy will play tonight, it is likely but if he isn't feeling well Nate will bench him.

While being bummed at the way this season has progressed so far....I am fairly ecstatic at the return of Joel. In the face of adversity we are not faring so well and need a lift. I hope that Joel can give us that lift. I dont expect him to play that much while working into his rotation but emotionally the team needs a shot in the arm.

Camby has been doing great but the Blazers desperately need more than on 37-year old center. Now they play Boston, who have quite a few bigs; Garnett and Shaq both starting together. Brandon Roy even said he hasn't seen such a lack of confidence on the team since his rookie season. The Blazers have to get a break at some point... right?

As much as I want to see Joel come back in front of the RG crowd, I don't know how much more can be expected of LA/ Marcus and  Dante at this point . They are human, and don't seem to get the consideration #7 does......
I hope I'm not the only one to shed tears of joy when Joel comes off the bench !

The way the season is going so far, Boston sleeps on us, jump shots fall in the 4th and we steal a win at TD Garden.

damn.  I dont know why we would leave ray allen of all people wide open for three with ten seconds left.  It seemed like him and Paul Pierce where wide open the entire game.  We really need to close out on the three point shot better if we are going to win ball games.  The only good things about this game where the play of Matthews and Mills and that we didnt let Rondo do to much on us.

Also we really need someone who can score inside.  we should have been able to take advantage of shaq and Glen Davis's lack of speed on defense but since Camby doesnt score and Aldridge only takes jumpers we werent able to do anything.  Hopefully we can use the expiring contracts of either Oden, Pryzbilla, Camby or Miller to aquire a big man who can actually score inside.

My questions to Blazer fans after tonights game.....

Do we really believe Mills could do anything against Rondo ?

If you were a coach and could pick any player to bust open a zone defense, how many of you would pick Ray Allen ??

Am I the only one who believes Rudy hesitated to look for Roy when he should have just shot the ball on the last play of the game?  Does Rudy get a timeout on the bench now ?

How are Nic and AJ supposed to get their groove back from the bench??

I don't have all the answers, but Doc was a step ahead of Nate tonight, and the 4th quarter is still the problem regardless of who starts ........

No, but what has Armon been doing past 5 games?

Ray Allen is the best shooter in the league right now. Prior to that last shot he was ice cold, and hit the one that counted the most.

I think Rudy should not even be on the team right now.

Nic is just inferior to Wesley Matthews in all aspects but rebounding. AJ, well reference the top comment.

I don't got all the answers either so these are just my opinions.

AJ's a rookie, but like I said how does he get better from the bench ?
Using words like inferior, is what causes chemistry issues. Imo, WM and Nic should play together. WM was not brought here to replace Nic, so we agree, Rudy should be the odd man out. I like WM, but I'm not as drunk off the kool aide as the rest of Blazer nation, and the atitude toward Nic lately bothers me.

My point on Ray Allen,  how do you NOT guard him , no matter how many have gone in that game ??

Is that a coaching issue ? Or are players not executing ?  Either way, it cost them, even though they played better in the 4th.

I got an early Christmas wish,  KG leaving for stitches in the chin.  Go Blazers !!!!

Didn't Ray Allen do that same thing last time we played them? He was missing EVERYTHING and I think he even missed a potential back breaker, but then they got one more chance and he drains a three to win, just like tonight! Both times I wondered why did they leave him so open?!?!

Also Wes is absolutely not better than Nic at assists/passing and holding onto the ball and rebounding. I think really the only thing Wes does better is he is WAY more aggressive.

well i was impressed by the effort in this game, the bench still needs to score. patty mills showed he had great court vision and amazing speed. im sure patty like most 3point shooters was scared to shoot because they hear it if they miss. rudy hesitated i have to think its because of the pressure if he misses. these guys are shooters and should be allowed to shoot. shooters tend to go cold and need to shoot their way back. how about stick rudy in the starting line up and have matthews and nic off the bench? perhaps that would solve some issues and allow the bench to do some scoring. at this point i like mills over johnson looks more comfortable out there.

The 15-0 run was surreal. I was working on downloading photos from the game and I keep looking up and the score keeps getting closer and closer. I couldn't believe we worked so hard and then gave it away at the end. We brought Wesley in here to play defense. There really isn't a reason for us to be trying to double Pierce 30 feet away from the hoop and leaving probably the most clutch 3 point shooter currently playing in the league wide open. Oh well, I am proud of the effort last night and Wesley continues to show there is a lot of untapped potential.

Yes Tom, Allen has done the exact same thing before.  Maybe I expect to much getting at least a hand in his face, when even I know to do it.
I'm proud of the effort too, its a step in the right direction.

Tobyus, yes I did :)  Nothing against Rudy, but I don't see him as a long term fit here, and have not forgotten the summer. You have to trade value to get value, and we need another big any way you slice it.

I don't like the way Nic is being handled. If someone has to go, so that everyone gets playing time, adios Rudy, Nic has a much higher ceiling, if he ever gets a chance to play any significant time.

    Bring on the Wiz !!

    Go Blazers !!!

I don't like the way Nic is being used either. It just doesn't make sense especially when we can see how bad our bench is now that Wes is starting. Nic's longer and plays good defense and we don't need him to create offense as much when starting as when he comes off the bench. He also is not a spark off the bench. I think we need Wes coming off the bench worse than starting.

Maybe Nic isn't what we thought he could be though, or maybe it's the coach not ever letting him score until this season and never playing starter's minutes that's messed with his head and confidence, but regardless I like his length on D as a starter and I like Wes being a spark off the bench.

    hahahaha.

Idk how they let this one get away, I mean thats just a players fault for leaving Ray allen Open like that, but it was the only 3 he made that night, so if i was that same guy who was supposed to defend him, i probably would of drifted off too the way Ray was shooting.
But the Celtics have some good ball movement, i mean Blazers did too, some big to big passes, but i think they have better eyes tahn us and thats what helped them win this game, ball movment, we had an A- in that catagory, they had an A plus!

But i really dont know how they lost, i mean they had the Ref's on their side and everything.
Miller damn near ran Rondo over, he shoulda got called for that, or a speeding ticket at least, that was just pathetic.
Cant win with the refs on our side whats the poiint right?
