We are 8-8.  It is still early in the season, but if the team isn't living up to the talent it has on it's roster then shouldn't we look at the coach?  I think we give him this year and see if we can get to the second round.  If we don't then we need a new coach along with some major trades.
What are your guys thoughts on Nate and his future with the Blazers?
I am a fan of being .500!!! We got them right where we want them. The other teams won't be expecting the ninth seeded Blazers to win!!! Muhahaha

Agree. Moreso if the Blazers cannot enter the playoffs.
I am a fan of the Portland Trail Blazers. Period.

Disagree.  Don't know if Nate is the right fit for this team, but recognize that he IS one of the better coaches in the league.  Upgrading now, midseason, is all but impossible.  How many teams have had a successful season following a coaching change made after opening day?

mentally- blazers building time is over.  it's time to establish the stingy defense boarding hoarding crew that has a relentless hunger to outscore and play any team in the league.(this talk about getting into the playoffs  or trying is waistful, championship caliber thats the mentality..should be gauging for FINALS!)...its the little things that count starting from attitude and everyone has to take the initiative to be the one  that is going to head up the attack.  whether one deep or four deep at a position, should it be bestowed upon you to grace the blazer court, embrace it with fury to go out and play like a champion!!!!  WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY; I SEE GREAT THINGS COMING OF THIS. BLAZERS GO TAKE IT!!!

Well Well well, who ever thought that Miami and Portland would have anything in common this season?.........?

MIA - Things arent going so well for Coach Erik. the players, or  as many know them , Superfriends, are having said to have speculations with the results their team is producing so far this year. LeBron had a private meeting today for about 30 mins with Spulstra, they said the meeting was decent, serious and perhaps might shed ome light on some of the problems that the players cant see but the coach can, and vice versa.

POR- i dont think that Nate should be let go, i think however a meeting like the one in MIA could fix this problem. I think we might be coming down with a spell of CLipperSyndrome. We are loosing chemistry and perhaps a meeting focusing on Teamwork and idk creating some new plays may be all we need. Like a Boost.Jolt.

Lets be honest, a coach can only do so much and Nate has done a lot. I don't think P.A. is done with Nate. I think this team was planning to be a team built around a dominant center. Everyone was predicting that we were going to give the Lakers a run if we were healthy and I think Nate was the coach for that slow, defensive, half court team. That's how the team was built - inside outside, but this team was destroyed at the key center position and now what we are seeing is the effects of that plan being scraped.
If we can get that center position fixed Nate will be OK and so will this team. J.P. is coming back and in a month, after gelling together, and playing the way this team was built, we should be decent. At least that's my hope.

Question isn't how do we get a better coach, but how do we get a healthy center?

On point there. We do run a lot of inside-outside, and that's why we establish the post early to open up our perimeter. Very perceptive of you kenny.

I think now though we are going to start building this team around Brandon and LaMarcus..then again it's pretty much there.

I'm a huge Nate fan. If anyone can work out the rotation,to include Nic,WM and Rudy,  its Nate.

But I honestly dont agree with starting WM over Nic tonight .
Mainly because it isnt the start of the games that the Blazers seem to have a problem with. It's the 4th quarter/closing out games that needs work. Entire team work !
Secondly, because I <3 Nic, and hate to see him getting the Martell/Travis treatment lately.  He is much better than the credit he seems to be getting.
Dave has a great piece over at Blazers edge with a list of the players that have rotated out under Nate,to improve the team,  worth a read, since here we are again Blazer fans.
Same plan, and expect a different outcome ?

Agree 100% that the main thing this team needs to do is maintain a healthy center. 2 would be nice, but who are we fooling :)
Another, is to develop an offense that isnt dependant on Roy or LA only.
Roy has been the offensive plan since  Nic got here. 3 years of it, and in all fairness, Nic being singled out for doing what he has been told to for 3 years ,( but now it changes since they realized they were over playing Roy) doesnt sit well with me.  Not the first or last time that will happen.
Everytime a new player comes in, it takes an adjustment.  I like WM and what he brings, but not at the expense of Nic.

So the Blazers win tonight, its Philly, what does the lineup change really mean ?? Are we that concerned about the sixers? Why not rest Roy for the Celtics tomorrow ? Play Nic and WM together ??

The brow beating of Nic, could have consequences down the road......my 2 cents

    I am a fan of scrapping !

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
